Been coming here for over a year. I will drive from Pico Rivera any day to get their cuernitos!!! You think you will have stale bread the next day with this bread? Think again, this bread will be moist and delicious for the following day. Best thing is they accept C.C. of course for a small fee which i dont mind because their bread is delicious. Word of advice their second rotation of fresh bread is at 6pm and its packed during that time. Expect to park on the street. Worth every bite!

This review is solely on the bolillos and cuernos. That being said, they are bomb ! If you get either freshly baked you will like it, they’re nice and soft every time. If you’re not able to get cuernos in the morning time, no worries, they make fresh batches at 5:30 pm!(You’re welcome) ;)

BEST! Great tasting, authentic Pan Dulce,(Mexican Sweet Bread)! Been going to Chapala Bakery for years! The lady’s who work there are not rude, more like shy. Anyway, all their Pan Dulce is delicious, but my favorite are the«conchas» with a hot cup of coffee! I know they bake twice a day, maybe more. Once in the morning and once in the evening, (5pm ish). Those conchas taste goooooood right out of the oven! OKALL, ENJOY!

Que delicioso pan dulce, me recuerda al que como cada que voy a Morelia, muy autentico y rico, mis preferidos son el cuerno y la sema con ajonjoli.

I really like the bread and tamales here. But what gets me every time is how rude the two front cashier ladies are. Every Time I come here they roll their eyes to customers or make snappy remarks or just have really rude tones. The product is great but the costumer service from the cashiers isnot.

Great place to get authentic fresh baked goods(you can see the guys making it right there). Everything from pan dulce(sweet bread)) to bolios(French roll). There is a good selection to choose from. I particularly like the cream cheese and jalapeño roll. Yes, it’s baked inside and it’s so good. Yes the parking lot gets tight and the bakery is small. But grab a tray and some tongs and help yourself. The primary language is Spanish but everyone is welcome here.

Been coming to this bakery for years. Yes, they might only speak Spanish, however, it adds to the authenticity of a true Mexican bakery. If you’re looking for fresh, good tasting Pan Dulce this is the place to visit. The 1 star comment is foolish at best.

Very good bakery. Stopped by on a Sunday night around 8pm and the place was packed — line out the door. Fresh and tasty Mexican sweet bread!

The tamales are great. They have only 3 types which are chicken, pork and cheese. The tamales are just the right filling to masa ratio and very moist, but you have to get the in the morning as they run out quick.

I’m not one to feel discriminated against but there is know lack of that here. I’m what we call an «Americanized Mexican» I don’t speak Spanish however I try. I came once and the woman was rude but decided not everyone can be like her yet i was wrong. The women here are rude to me and didn’t bother to greet me nor help out as she did to other people. when it can to ring me up she had no problem shoving all my purchases in one bag, however everyone before and after me go separate bag and when they asked she didn’t charge them for another bag. beat advice don’t come here if you don’t speak Spanish because you will be treated horribly the laughs and wispers were appealing at all.

Don’t bother coming here if you don’t speak Spanish because they will NOT help you. In fact, you’ re not welcome here, they’ll even make fun of you and laugh at you. Their bread is mediocre anyway, the selection is not fresh. If they say a lot of people come here, that’s because it’s the only bakery nearby(and walking distance) for the residents in the neighborhood.

This bakery is true Mexican pan dulce. If you don’t know what that means, it’s sweet bread. One of the things that makes this place much more awesome is that they bake new bread late at night, around 8pm. The line goes out the door because so many people come to buy it fresh. It’s worth the wait, even though its not that long of a wait. It’s a must try if you want some quality sweet bread, and very inexpensive.

This bakery has pan dulce that is the best in East LA. It is so tasty and soft. I have gotten bread at other bakeries and their bread is rock-hard. Not at Chapala. Their bolillos are great for tortas, also.
