JCPenney Optical

The two ladies at the front desk look like they hate their job. They are very rude and inattentive. You could probably sit there or look around at the frame selections for hours and they will never acknowledge you unless you walk over to them and ask something. The frame selection SUCKS btw; this location doesn’t carry «popular» designer brands. At least the doctor was fast, friendly, and helpful with my questions. Their machines aren’t as advanced and fancy as lens crafters, but it did the job. I grabbed my prescription and ran over to Lens Crafters where the service was EFFIN great!
Note: Eye exam was 20 dollars cheaper here than lens crafters.

I love Hot Cheetos, but there is a time and place for everything.
My experience at this optical center was so appalling that it became humorous.
I was told that my glasses would be ready on Monday, so I called Monday afternoon to see if they were ready for pickup.
I called three times and no one picked up the phone. Someone picked up on the fourth try. When I arrived to pick up my glasses one hour later, I realized why no one picked up my calls.
When I arrived, the optician was in the back room eating Hot Cheetos. There was no one at the front desk. I wrote down my name on the sign-​in sheet (though I don’t think the optician ever looked at it). I waited for the optician to come back out. I could hear the crinkle of the Hot Cheetos bag. I have nothing against Hot Cheetos. I love them, and I eat them frequently. but I do NOT eat them while I’m on the job.
Anyways, the phone started ringing. Haha, and no one is there to pick it up (déjà vu). I’m now wondering if I should shout to the optician, «I know you’re back there! I can hear you eating! Can you come out and help us?»
The optician comes out finally and, sure enough, her fingertips are covered in red powder. A clear sign of Hot Cheetos beings eaten. I know this because my students would come to class with fingertips that were stained red. Their homework had cute little red fingerprints. Children are allowed to do this – not adults.
Back to the story, I tell the optician that I would like to pick up my glasses. She shuffles through the pile of glasses that are strewn haphazardly on the front desk. Not organized at all. And none of the glasses are in cases. I was later informed that they ran out of cases. Anywho, I could have easily snatched up all of those glasses from the countertop when she was in the backroom eating Cheetos. Probably not the best place to leave the glasses. After she picked up each pair to see if they were mine, she would drop them back down on the counter if they weren’t mine. I cringed each time. Those are probably $ 400+ glasses. You shouldn’t drop them like that!
Now here comes the gross part. She’s shuffling through all these glasses with dirty fingers, and, finally, she decides to go wash her wands. So she says to me, «Oh wait… let me wash my hands.» You should’ve done that before you touched all those glasses!
Finally, I get my glasses, and the optician is about to send me away. But wait, can’t I at least have a bag to put my glasses in? They are $ 600, so I don’t want to break them. She gives me a plastic ziploc bag. Wait, can I get a receipt for those? Or some type of proof that I did pay for them? And proof that I got the right ones? Then the optician gets me a copy of my receipt.
I’m so glad there are no red fingerprints on my lenses.
