JP Dance Production

My 3 yr old wanted ballet classes and I went to this place. If you are looking into a recreational sport don’t go here. I have a degree in social work, so I observe everything.
This place seems to focus on preparing kids for their stage performances rather than on learning about their bodies and having fun (All of which I am not a fan of). I brought my daughter here and not only did Ms Jaime grabbed her by the arm and pulled her in order to have her situated where she desired but she didn’t bother to apologize to me or her. It was my daughters 3^rd class and it broke her spirit given that she felt that she was doing it all wrong.
At the end of class ms Jaime asked the kids to give her a group hug and wait for their stickers, by then I noticed my daughter having to give her a fake hug and wanting to run out of class.
I had referred my nieces to this place because it was affordable. During their 2^nd class they were given underlined messages like «your not good enough» for the recital «practice more» etc… At that point my sister also said to me that my nieces didnt want to go back to class.
I write this review in order to increase more consciousness.
1– please be more conscious of how you handle children (you can take them by the hand or role model where you want them to be and not grab from their biceps and pull them into the direction of your desire)
2-​not all children pursue this class for a recital, some of them truly want to learn the art of dance and use it as a recreational activity.
3-​you could improve on your communication with the parents in the lobby and perhaps be a bit more courteous by greeting and acknowledging our presence (thanks to us parents you get a pay check).

Summer dance Recital is amazing. Training is great. The only thing I wish is that private lessons were available for all dancers not only dance team.

My daughter attended this school for 7 years until she was accepted to the Idyllwild Arts Academy Boarding High School. She received excellent training from the instructors here. Her training allowed her to be accepted into this prestigious high school and she has gone on to college majoring in dance. It is a family atmosphere and the studio director is the nicest person you can ever meet.
