I am having 2 pupusa revueltas with salsa and curtido w an horchata. Way too good. I’ve eaten from here before lunch time it gets packed. But you can also order take out.

Probably one of the worst Salvadorian restaurants I’ve been… Not authentic, I suggest Los Molcajetes which is down the street, they have delicious pupusas.

Nothing authentically Salvadoran here. The sauce is V8 tomato juice posing as salsa. The pupusa revuelta is not a pupusa revuelta, a typical pupusa revuelta has chicharron, beans, and cheese. The pupusa revuelta they they serve here is just chicharron and cheese smh I brought it up to the waiter and instead of apologizing for their bad she went above and beyond to show me that they don’t do authentic that for this restaurant a pupusa revuelta is just chicharron and cheese. The waitress has no experience with serving, that was very clear. If you are looking for authentic El Salvadoran cuisine go to Sol Maya in Whittier, CA. Oh and the curtido is very cheaply made. This is a disgrace to El Salvadoran cuisine, they don’t even made ensalada drinks or tamarindo. Never going back to this place.

At $ 3.50 a pop, one would expect the pupusas to be amazing. As a Salvadoran, I was willing to pay the premium for some comfort food. Instead, they were flat in flavor and texture. I was hoping the curtido and salsa would help but they too were bland. The horchata was not Salvadoran(morro) but Mexican horchata(rice). A complete let down.

Yummy in my tummy! I’ve drove by this place so many times. It’s been around for the last 8 years if not more. I’m glad, I finally got to try it out! Right when you walk in, you’ll see colorful murals of the Salvadorian culture and the process of making pupusas. They also have this huge model of a macaw hanging from the center of the room. It feels like you’re in El Salvador! The menu has over a dozen different fillings for the pupusas, all made from scratch. They take all the orders at the register. So prepare to wait. I got the revuelta(ground pork with cheese) and pastrami with cheese. Each cost $ 3 and I believe there’s a $ 10 minimum to use credit card. The pupusas came out piping hot! The shell was crispy and both had a good amount of cheese in each bite. It could use more meat but it wasn’t bad. I enjoyed both pupusas and they paired really well with their homemade salsa and pickled cabbage. Add some tabasco to kick it up a notch. I didn’t like how there was no AC. I started to sweat before I even got my pupusa. It took about 10 – 15 minutes for my order. Maybe I’ll try it to-go next time.

I wouldn’t even give them a star. HORRIBLEHORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE! We ask if we can merge two tables together because it was 4 adults and 6 kids girl said yeah yeah sure ! I guess in this place everything you do it yourself we had to move the tables(lazy people) When we first enter girl keep on staring at us like what the f**k are they doing ! She came up to us and said you order at the front(hello we are deciding what to eat) So we order, order came in she had the dishes stack on top of each other we order popusas and 2 burritos. I was like I’m hoping the plates are clean to be on top of each popusas my mom’s popusa was not cook correctly! My sister was a bit burn, I didn’t get sauce for my burrito, I had to ask for it. Girl gave it to us with an attitude like if we were eating for free. People just go elsewhere!!!

I’m Mexican but after eating the savory popusas here I feel Salvadorian! This is our«go-to» place for popusas. If you’ve never tried them or don’t know what they are visit this establishment. It’s small, family owned, and intimate. I recommend take out especially for special occasions. I always order big and my guests and family are always impressed. Great for sit down dining as well. I recommend spinach with cheese or chicken with cheese. New options available too. My mother enjoyed the popusas on her birthday(see attached photo). Located in Atlantic Square Shopping Center. Forget Chiplote! Try this place instead

BEWARE! Will never come back! Ordered 2 bean n cheese pupusas on 2÷5÷16. Left to go shopping and started feeling sick to my stomach. I was hot and sweaty and felt nauseous. Must have been something terribly wrong with those pupusas. I am ruined :(!!! Service was like whatever and no free refills on drinks.

The pupusas are great, the most delicious I’ve had compared to others. But last night I went with my family for dinner around 7:30 pm. I begin to order as this place takes orders first and then you sit and wait. The cashier tells me that they are taking take out orders as they are closed. I ask what time do you close and they tell me at 8. Really?! They lost my business last night. I guess I have to remember if I want to eat there in the evening I need to be there before 7 pm because they must close before 8 or they will miss their novela! So annoying…

The cashier was extremely rude, unfriendly, and not helpful. Aside from being over priced for a pupusa($ 3) they don’t even add bean to their reveltas. Don’t come, better off going to Los Molcajetes on Beverly Blvd. The food is average if you know good Salvadoran food.

I have to say I had the worst customer service ever here. The cashiers was so extremely rude. She seemed to be nice to everyone but me or helpful for that matter. I told her it was my first ti. e here, no response or even a smile. I was asking her a couple questions about a pupusa. If she had one with chili she looked at me like I was crazy and said No we dont have chili. I said on. Your menu here it says choli, she said that’s chili beans. In any case it was so u comfortable. .and she got even more upset with me when I asked her for extra cabbage. Omg. I asked her is there a problem. .am I not allowed to ask for more cabbage. Wow. This is the second Pupuseria I have ever been to, the other one was the same treatment. I won’t be going back ever again. Such rudeness and unprofessionalism. Almost allowed the situation to ruin my night.

Stopped by here during my break because I’ve always wanted to try the pupusas here and I was craving them. Turns out ew methinks not. I’ve had pupusas before but the ones here are not that great. Not enough flavor in the filling and the dough is way too thick. I’ve had better, though service is pretty quick. I thought the pupusas were a bit expensive considering they were averaging around $ 3. Anyway I’ve tried them, didn’t like them, won’t be back. For two pupusas, loroco & cheese and chicken & cheese it was around $ 7. Pretty expensive for some bland pupusas. I couldn’t taste the loroco and the chicken had no flavor. Disappointing but at least I know.

Have been wanting to come here for a long time. Finally made it– ordered pupusas, they were good. What made this experience a bad one, was the service, or lack of I should say. Not to mention the ladies restroom was atrocious, no paper, smelled soiled paper on the floor. Will not be coming here again

Really good food. Horrible service. They should invest in more staff and they will be more successful

Dont waste your time with this place! They keep you waiting 40 mins on a take out order even if its empty inside. Some lady before me had been waiting for almost an hour. Not just that their super rude and stingy with there condiments. And if you ask for more the straight out tell you no!

Small cozy spot that shows its a family owned restaurant. Nice wall paintings of plants and foods. I ordered 1 pupusa de pollo, 1 de chorizo, a empanada and some jamaica to drink. The Pollo pupusa was delicious. As much as I tried to enjoy the chorizo I couldnt. Half way through it felt like too much chorizo but still good. The empanada was delicious but I couldn’t finish it either because it was pretty big. The jamaica was delicious. Probably the best I’ve had in a while. The staff was friendly even though it was only 2 ladies(one in the back one working the front). The food came at a reasonable time no longer than about 7 minutes maybe.

Reallllly yummy!!! This kind of food isn’t meant to be healthy, so expect to feel a bit greasy and heavy after. Food is freshly made, but the food takes SOLONG to come out. Don’t expect to be able to eat here or get take out quickly, which can be a problem if you are stopping by for lunch during a workday. Don’t be surprised to wait 30 minutes. Although the food is delicious, the wait makes me very reluctant to come back.

I came back on the weekend, and they did have more employees on the job than during the week. Two cooks in the kitchen, and two dining room employees. Oasis keeps the dining room way too dim, no lighting at all. I guess so you can’t see the dirty floor too clearly. I sat in the front booth so I could get some sunlight through the window. My friend tried the Caldo de Res/Beef Soup. He was quite pleased with it, he’s from Guatemala and has been looking for a soup like they make back home. He tells me it tasted perfectly, the meat was well cooked. Most of the Mexican restaurants we go to under cook their soup. I like my beef to be cooked for hours so its fall apart tender, like it is at Oasis. But if you’re used to Mexican Caldo de Res you might be surprised at how little vegetables come in this Central American caldo, just the beef, cabbage and one other vegetable, I think yucca, but I’m not sure. No carrots, no potatoes, no corn on the cob. Ricardo was disappointed that his caldo came with only one tortilla. When he asked for another order he was told he had to go to the counter and pay for it first, which is of course very inconvenient when you’re seated trying to enjoy your meal. So he paid for the tortillas, and they came after about twenty minutes when he was just about done with his caldo. The tortillas looked very nice, handmade, nice and thick, almost like a small pupusa. But the service was lacking. I ordered ten pupusas to go, so my order was over fifty dollars. They refused to take a hundred dollar bill, which is just bad business. I can understand refusing a big bill for a minor purchase, but that shouldn’t apply to a large order like mine. Fortunately, I had smaller bills. But silly rules, and belaboring minor points such as the one tortilla rule makes the experience uncomfortable. Oasis never heard the saying«The Customer is Always Right!»

Feeling like it was a pupusa type of day and was told to check this local spot out. Colorfully decorated mural with both tables and booths available for seating. I would say this restaurant is good for groups. Place your order up at the front, find a seat and they’ll bring out your food once it is ready. I found their menu to be nice and simple. Ordered 1 revuelta y 1 chorizo de Rez y queso pupusa con bebida de jamaica. The pupusas are so big that I was having difficulties finishing both plus my regular sized drink. I enjoyed the food very much and liked the cabbage/veggies paired with their special sauce on top. Great little hidden spot with lots of parking nearby as it is in a shopping center — would come back again :) Note: CASHONLY or a $ 10 minimum for card transactions & they close early(8pm)
