3.5 stars. Okay I just wanna update because the phở I loved here is no longer the same phở they used to have. They told me that their original cook quit recently and now as a result, they serve a much more basic and unoriginal phở. The phở you now get here isn’t too different from any other place around the area. It’s completely different from what I loved so I’m not sure if I’ll be back. It’s not too shabby, but just isn’t my cup of tea. Everything else is the same, as far as I know. It’s just the broth that changed, but that’s critical to me.

I ordered NO.8(phở next generation with fillet mignon). Big portion, nice service, good food and I got free milk tea. The owner is so friendly. This place is so clean, definitely coming back soon !!!

Ordered Filet and beef balls phở and the Korean BBQ rib plate, both good size portion and very yummy! Both our kids enjoyed the dish and soup. We ordered 1 Thai tea with boba and the owner was nice to bring one for our 2yo too since we asked for another cup to share. She ended up didn’t charge for both cups! We ended up talking about our home country. I would likely return to eat, too bad it’s in a small plaza, they would do so much better if it’s visible from the main streets.

This place is good. Soup is good, beef is good, service is good, even got a free Thai tea for some reason — maybe because it was completely empty when I walked in and they had too much. I know this place used to be a Thai noodle place, but this is a huge improvement in terms of food quality. The Thai noodles back then were just okay, but they were cool because there aren’t many alternatives. Now, they have to compete with 20 other Phở locations in the area. I had their«Phở Next Generation». The soup tastes better than Noodle City which used to be my go-to place for phở, the noodles are SOFT when you get them, and the beef is soft too! I don’t know about you but a lot of phở places serve you phở with noodles on the bottom still softening, and the beef rough and seemingly overcooked. So yeah, this place is somewhat new and they deserve your business over a lot of competing places in the area just for the food quality. The place looks pretty shitty though, and it being empty doesn’t help. They should invest more on décor when they can.

I went there this Monday 3÷21÷2016, but their door was closed and nobody was there. However, their sign showed«open» and their online schedule also showed«open on Monday». I think this place is shut down!

Had phở meat ball. Was suprised at price but its a huge bowl. Plenty of meat, not skimpy like kim kardshians instagram. Fresh noodles and great taste. Worth a try. So what if they cant speak 100% proper english ;). Hits the spot. Duno about the other stuff. Just stick to phở!

To me a good phở restaurant consists of 3 important criteria: Phở soup, customer services and price. First, let me start out by complimenting their friendly, courteous customer service skill as I don’t often experience such good services at other larger and more known phở places. The staff were attentive and quickly responded to my every need. Second, phở is their main focus here and indeed it lived up to its expectation. For some who are on a lean diet, you could request for a clear broth, less fat content and for those who appreciate the authenticity of the phở soup with the more fat content, you could ask for a small bowl of soup aside. For me, my bowl of beef filet mignon was cooked perfectly and tasted authentically delicious. Beside phở, a friend of mine had ordered some egg rolls and rice with korean bbq steak and her comment was the meat was seasoned well & perfectly cooked. Bottom line, the price was just right for the services, food quality at this restaurant. It is also compatible to other phở and/or restaurant in the viet town. I would definitely come back and spread good words to all my connections. If you communicate well with the staff for what you desire to have for your meal, you will not be disappointed.

This joint used to be Hoy Kha(see my other review), and now it’s a Viet restaurant. First, be careful with their door. The employee always opens the door and now I know why. The door gets stuck so when you try harder to open it, it all of a sudden loosens a lot so you end up hitting your fingers with the door/door handle. Whatever it is, it hurt a lot and bruised my finger for days. Onto the food… I’d say the Phở is really good, price is ok for what they serve. I like my beef on the side so it doesn’t get overcooked in the soup. I really enjoy their phở. one of the better phos in the SGV area. there was one time that the phở was SUPER greasy. I started scooping off the oil when the server saw me and said he’ll take care of it for me. he took the bowl back and came back a min later with less oil. it was only once & they fixed it, so i’m ok with that. now that’s about where it ends. ordered the phở ga last time because the picture looked o m gee good, but really, it was so disappointing. I was upset I ordered it while my bf & friend were having their good old phở I love. the broth was so bland, I had to add fish sauce, even that it really didn’t save it. the chicken was not good. we also ordered the egg rolls before, and it looked good, but when bit into it, it was cold. it wasn’t even warm. i’d say, stick with a bowl of regular phở and it deserves a 5 star!

HORRIBLE… I called to order a take out and the person who took the call did not know much english. He kept messing up the order and it took over 5 minutes for them to get my order right. I had no problem with that. I understood that not everybody knows english very well. I went and got 2 phở, fillet minion rice plate, and 2 french coffee. Both me and my co-workers thought that the phở broth was really salty to the point that we had to dump some soup out and add hot water to it. The coffee tasted water down and not good. Starbucks coffee would have tasted better. The price for the phở was not worth it in my opinion. Would never go here again.

I just bought a filet mignon beef rice from Phở Next Generation, I came home, opened the box, very disappointed, completely different from the picture on the menu. The beef is definitely not filet mignon at all. The services are not good either. I advise people not to go there.

2 thumbs up for serving hot yuMMy Phở w/filet mignon. The owner here used to own a restaurant in another location but due to rent increase it closed down. Tonight, we meet again… that same old taste of phở is back but with better meat quality. Not to mention, the veggies and limes were fresh. Phở was perfecto! Soft but not too soft… filet mignon was very fresh and tasty. Not dried up nor too thick. Just right! Free thai tea! Tea flavor was lacking and watered down but hey, it was free! $ 9 for Pure phở w/filet mignon. Located in a small plaza where Hoy Kha used to be. Parking is kind of small once the place gets crowded. Nice clean place. Restroom avail. Great service. Overall, the food is above average. Better than other phở places(626 area). Definitely, will be back for more PHO!

Great new spot to hang out in Monterey Park. Now free Thai Tea for dine in. Free WiFi as well. So many freebies, don’t miss this new place. My family has visited this restaurant several times already. See you there next time for some Vietnamese dishes.

My parents live on Garfield and I’ve driven by this place a couple of times. Checked the reviews on Unilocal and they were pretty good, so I decided to order some Phở to go for me and my parents. They basically said I could pick it up in 5 minutes. I got to the parking structure, easily found a spot and went in the restaurant. There was NOONE in the place. I reluctantly picked up my food — two bowls of phở for almost $ 20 which was a little pricey for phở. Still I took it home and had lunch with my parents. We all thought the phở was tasty and authentic. I’m not sure why more people don’t come here but I hope it sticks around!

Phở is quite flavorful. Kind of pricey at $ 8.5 for bowl of Filet Mignon with beef balls phở, but it was worth it. Its one of the better tasting phở places around the area. The restaurant is new. I’ll give it some time for service to improve. Took awhile to get my other orders. Got some free crayfish too. Not bad, but I prefer boiling crab.

Pretty darn good phở, if I do say so myself. Tried most phở joints in the San Gabriel Valley and most times, all I can say is «yeah…it’s phở». I can at least say that the phở here had loads of all the right flavors and came in a pretty decent sized bowl. Noodles weren’t cooked to mush… just right and they didn’t cheap out on the side greens like most places(fresh veggies ftw). Ordered the #4 phở… filet mignon came out tender. Since it’s their grand opening, they also offered a free sampler platter of their Louisiana style crawfish. Quite frankly, I really enjoyed their take on crawfish. The whole Boiling Crab thing’s been done to death and all you end up with is bland meat. You’d have to lick the shells for any flavor. Their crawfish is cooked just right with all the flavor right where they should be… in the meat. Has a nice kick to it too! Will definitely order the whole dish next time I swing by. Décor’s nice, modern and clean. Utensils took a bit getting used to… instead of the usual soup spoons you get at asian places you get a nice big metal spoon. Instead of the usual tiny saucers you get what looks like miniature versions of said asian soup spoons to use for the usual hoisin/siracha combo. Very much enjoyed this departure from the usual pile of spoons and saucers on the table gathering god knows what on the surface. Few minor knocks: the iced coffee was a little light and service was a tad on the slow side(forgivable since they did just open). Very much enjoyed my meal and experience and will definitely come back to try the rest of their menu.

Hands down one of the top 3 phở restaurants in SGV. The broth was flavorful, the veggies were fresh and noodles were just right, not too soggy. I think the portion sizes were good but I don’t eat that much so I couldn’t finish it. The price for the: –filet mignon phở is $ 9 –filet mignon with beef balls is $ 8.50. Prices are comparable to other places that serve filet mignon phở. This restaurant took over the thai restaurant that I used to go to. I think it’s their grand opening, so there’s FREE crawfish(a sampler plate). It tastes pretty good, like crawfish served in Louisiana. It comes in a plate with potatoes and corn. I like it but my friend didn’t because it’s not like boiling crab where it comes in a bag and drenched in sauce. If you like the crawfish style like Louisiana then you’ll enjoy it… if you’re looking for boiling crab type crawfish you’ll be disappointed. I tried the tiger shrimps($ 14) with a side of bread too. There are about 6 jumbo tiger shrimps drenched in a garlic sauce, served in a skillet with bread. I enjoyed the shrimp and the sauce was delicious. You should try to eat it fast because it taste better hot and not soggy before it cools down. The staff was friendly and the service was good but you’ll need to ask for water refills. I think it’s a family restaurant, and since they are starting out they asked about suggestions. I’ll come back for the phở and free crawfish… while it last =D

The good was good, but it was quite expensive. I believe this is a family business, which I am totally all for it. I hope their portion is a little bigger because other phở places offer cheaper price for more quantity. The cheapest for is about $ 8.50 exclude tax. They just opened today, so I will probably give it another try. By the way, this store is replaced hoyka restaurant.
