Slow service and the toppings are not fresh at all. While here, I witnessed a fry container catch on fire and no one seemed concerned. The pizza took over 20 minutes to make which is a long time considering it’s practically a fast food joint. People had to ask for utensils. The price is reasonable but I would not return.

Great pizza and create service! A large selection of toppings and the pizza comes out of the oven with a nice crust, and perfectly cooked. I usually get a good amount of items to put on my pizza, which gets me full after 2 – 3 slices. Hope you enjoy: D

This place is alright. I tried pizza five 85 twice and it reminds me of a knockoff of pieology or blaze pizza. The restaurant setting is really modern and definitely looks a lot more neater and cleaner compared to the other restaurants next door. I came one day around 6:30PM for to go and it wasn’t too busy but the pizza took a little way too long for just making a couple pizzas. In addition, I was waiting by the oven watching them cook my pizza.(The whole process took about 40−50minutes) Not to mention when I got home my wings were soaked in bbq sauce which made it a little difficult to eat. In addition my pizza was burnt :-(but I don’t blame them since it is a new business and the workers were still training. Overall I will give it a third try next time and hopefully my experience next time will be a lot better !

I love the pizza here. Olive oil, no sauce, cheese, bacon, chicken, mushrooms and spinach perfect match. The crust is so good and fresh. I have been coming here often and get treated kindly and warmly

Ok not bad. Only complaint is that they need to evenly disperse the toppings so they cook and cover more of the pizza. Staff was super friendly and helpful since it was my first visit. Don’t let my review discourage you. Instead try it out for yourself and keep my review in mind. Enjoy!

Customer service not the best !! tip: when a customer walks in you have to make them feel welcome with a nice attitude. But the Unlimited toppings pizza is awesome !! Thin and crispy love it . If the customer service was a bit better a would give 5 stars … Good is good.

Ah, the build-your-own pizza joint. These places are starting to pop up all over the place. Pizza Five 85 decides to take it one step further by adding BYO salads and pastas into the mix, as well as adding some appetizers like mozzarella sticks and wings to the menu. So how does Five 85 hold up to the heat of the competition? Well, not so hot, really… First, lets talk about the service. I came for lunch on a weekday, so maybe that has something to do with it, but it took a moment to be greeted by what(at the time) seemed to be the sole employee in the store. The menu is simple enough: order a simple, two topping pie for a reduced price or go wild for a few bucks more. The topping offerings are standard fare, nothing exciting or kitschy(if kitschy is your thing). They have your basic meats(pepperoni, sausage, chicken) and non-meats(onions, olives, peppers). Now, It was nice to see the large, fire burning oven there, so I was really hoping for a nice, thin, crispy crust pizza with a kiss of char on it. I must have set the bar too high. The pizza was flat, flimsy and had virtually no kisses of heat too it. In all honesty, it tasted like the pizza didn’t sit in the oven long enough, even though it sat in there for a good 8 – 9 minutes, which should be MORE than enough time to cook a thin pizza. It was sadly disappointing. Also, the cheese… I’m not too sure what kind of mozzarella they’re using, but it didn’t taste right, and really didn’t have that gooey factor that you want in a fresh, hot pie. Maybe it was because it wasn’t cooked long enough. But again, it was a bit off putting. Now, I can’t speak of the other menu offerings, as I didn’t try them this time around. But if your star menu item can’t exactly take the heat… I’m not sure if the rest of it will. Hopefully a second visit down the line will change my mind. Oh, and not that it REALLY matters, but the soda fountain was out of order during this visit. Had to settle with a canned drink from the cooler. At least if your fountain is out of order, have a variety of drinks at your disposal(coke, sprite and lemonade were my only options). Oh, and the bathrooms feel like they’re in Timbuktu(clear in the very very back of the restaurant, which, for some reason is HUGE)

This place is very good. You get to choose the ingredients you want on your pizza. From Garlic butter, Spicy Tomato sauce, spicy sausage to sliced artichoke! What else can you ask for! This place is big, can hold big parties and is kid friendly. That personalized pizza can be shared or eat it yourself! They also have salads, chicken wings and onion rings to accompany your pizza. Always a satisfying meal!

The service alone is bafflingly slow. There were two servers working when I went, and a line of 5 customers. It took both servers over 15 minutes to get to me(I was second in line) but the intrigue was too much for me to turn away(I mean, what was taking so long!!!). My friend and I ended up staying and this is what it was like: –The spreading of the tomato pasta sauce is five minutes alone. The guy placed a spoonful sauce in the middle and made the tiniest circles from the inside out until he cover the entire dough. Seriously. FIVEMINUTES. –At this point, I wanted the least amount of ingredients because I had no idea how long it would take for him to place pepperoni on the pie. I asked him what some of the ingredients were as there looked like an array of flavored chicken, none of which were labeled. He had no idea and had to ask his colleague who took awhile to GUESS what it was. –The spoons to serve the chicken are incredibly small! Meaning, they’re trying to control portions but seriously, what pizza would be complete with a teaspoon of chicken?! –They were nice enough to give me a discount plus a free drink because of how long it was taking to serve us, but even with that, I was severely unimpressed. If anything, I was incredibly impressed with how slow and clueless they were. The other mind boggling detail about this place is that it’s HUGE. Tons of seating that wrap around the back but these two servers were struggling so hard to serve the 5 customers that were there. How can they support a restaurant this big?! Overall, I’m never coming back. The pizza was okay but paired with the service provided, definitely not worth it.

Let’s just say I have a stomach ache. –I was skeptical about this pizza place because the letter grade given is a ‘B’ but this was the closest ‘Create your own pizza’ place at the moment. Once I walked in the employees did not greet me and I had to get their attention. Once they started making my pizza I was looking at the ingredients and they did not look appetizing it seemed as if the toppings were left out for hours. I’m a bacon lover but this bacon was not pre cooked. If you like to add many ingredients on your pizza, like me, then don’t go here because when I took a bite of my pizza all the ingredients were undercooked my bacon was still raw and I was able to taste the rawness while chewing on my food. My pizza was runny and I had to toss it. Second of all, the Dr. Pepper from the soda machine is not even Dr. Pepper, it’s ROOTBEER!!! Which they don’t serve. Never going back again. Waste of money. Go to Pieology or PizzaRev where the toppings look fresh and not mushy.

I’ve come in here a few times and always thought it was alright for the price but my last visit here will be just that. On Tuesday November 17th this place was holding a fundraiser for a local church, something that I didn’t realize until I had already ordered. My friend and I felt out of place and weren’t even sure if this was a private event or not, but we were told by a member of the church that everyone was welcome and suggested we order from a special bundle menu(which a percentage of those sales went to the church.) Happy to help out I ordered a side bundle to split with my friend. First problem, the sign I saw in front said the total for that side bundle was $ 6 and change, when I got to the front the girl who rang me up said it was $ 9. When I pointed at the original sign I read I noticed someone from the church was taking it down. A little annoyed I got it anyway. She asked me if I was part of the church, I said no that we had just walked in looking for some food. Second problem, this place usually is staffed with 2 – 3 employees behind the counter, this day there was at least double that, figured they brought in extra people to help out with the crowds but I quickly realized these weren’t employees but members of the church, handling and preparing the food. Health code violations aside, these people didn’t know what they were doing and made a mess of things. Third problem. I gave up drinking Soda a few months ago and so when I ordered I asked for a cup for water, the girl behind the counter refused saying«You’re probably just going to steal soda anyways.» I want to give this place the benefit of and say she was a church volunteer but it’s probably not wise to put someone that rude at the register. I’ve come here a few times and have never had a problem asking for a water cup. Fourth problem. So our pizzas came but we didn’t receive the sides I was already overcharged for, I asked and was told they were coming out. Cool, we went on to eat, 10 minutes went by, I asked again and was told the exact same thing. We waited and watched as people who ordered way after us were getting their sides, the owner came out and was handing orders to members of the church that had literally just walked into the door. Fifth problem. So finally being annoyed enough, nearly done with our pizza and about 30 minutes before closing, I went to the counter and asked that the side order be refunded. The same rude girl was at the register told me to wait and called the owner over to me and then walked away. So I asked him to refund the order, hearing that he became very attentive and said if I waited ten minutes they would have a fresh order out. I said we had waited long enough and we were pretty much done with the rest of our food and were ready to leave. He then asked if I was sure and I said yes. Then he came up close and told me that the refund was taking away from the church. I told him I understood this but that didn’t change the fact that we were being ignored and waited nearly an hour for an appetizer. He got upset and told me he didn’t know how to process a refund and walked away. I stayed in front of the counter and until he finally sent someone over to help me. This employee said he never done a refund and was trying to figure it out, frustrated the owner pulled a ten out of his pocket and pointed at me and said«Give me the sixty eight cents!». I told him I didn’t have any change or any cash on me and he snapped and asked«Then how did you pay?» I showed him my debt it card he said that was going to take longer. The employee still wasn’t sure how to process a refund so he refunded the entire order and then recharged me for the food I did receive. So finally it was taken care of(or so I thought) I went back to the table to finish my pizza. While I was eating the owner came up to talk to a church member right behind me. Clearly he wanted me to hear, he told this guy«Can you believe this guy? Asking for a refund? Why give to charity if you’re just going to take it back.» He then went on to call me a few choice names. I didn’t say anything, just got up and left. Btw, the original order wasn’t refunded and I was charged twice. I had to call the bank to clear that up. Never walking in there again, seriously if this was a private event it should have been listed as such or someone should have said something. Because it truly felt if you weren’t part of that church you were ignored. Just terrible customer service from the owner no less. Disappointing. Not walking in here again.

I was in here with my friend while she was getting a pizza. Their customer service is not the best. There were 4 employees and they seem more preoccupied with talking and having fun than helping her. They were talking about their after work plans and my friend was an afterthought. There was an employee who was putting the toppings on her pizza and in the middle on it, he reached and pulled his pants up with the gloves on and continued to work on her pizza. If you’re looking for a place that will get you your food fast, do not come here. Of course the cooking process would take a while, but the employees move really slow!

Terrible service today from Sam G. We were regulars here because of the great friendly service and the quality of the build your own pizza and they used to be very generous with the toppings on each pizza and pasta. We came in this evening for dinner and the girl worker who serviced us was extremely rude and she looked very upset and unhappy to be there. Also, she was very lenient with the amount of toppings that was put on the pizza and pasta that we had ordered. Also, the air conditioning was extremely cold for this season; it would make customers’ uncomfortable with this type of cold atmosphere in here. Very disappointed with the… service.

Here during my lunch break. Employees are unprepared. Chairs still on top of the tables. Been in here for 30 mins now and not one person is eating. Everyone is still waiting for their food. I low key want a refund. UPDATE: after 45 mins I went to the cashier and asked for a refund for waiting for so long my lunch break is only an hour. He apologized and explained that the ovens were never turned on and that they’re new employees. Took my refund and left. Smh. More employee training maybe.

I’m a huge fan of create your own pizza places, but Pie 12 was a real let down. Cool they have not just a pizza and salad option, but that you can also create your own pasta, not cool that everything looked a bit old and stale. I made my own pizza and salad and while it was a good value considering how many toppings I put on each, the quality was just not there. Nothing was fresh, very much canned veggies, cheap meats and not much care put into it. Service was not only slow, but also not the nicest, not bad, but in no rush to go back with so many other similar places all over.

Great place! I went on a very hot day so that fact that they had there AC on blast was amazing. There were no people when we went inside, but it was early. The guy at the pizza bar assisted us right away although i had no idea how it worked. Then i learned it’s like a subway for pizza/pasta/salade. I got the build it yourself pizza. To be honest it was the best pizza i have ever tried. Better then pizza hut or dominios. Whatever other pizza place there is. I say this because you can personalize it the way you want it without the pizza costing afortune for adding so many toppings. You can be as picky as you want or be greedy and put everything on it. They don’t care. It’s your pizza. Maybe that’s why it’s so great. You can also make it half and half to share. I loved it. Place was clean and very organized. It’s very cute to go hangout and grab a slice. Well definitely come back!

I have been to Pieology numerous times and Blaze Pizza once so I know the gist of how to order at places like this. It was our first time at Pie 12 Pizza and we decided to do the unlimited topping pizza because it made the most bang for our buck. First off, it was our first time so cut us some slack. not all pizza places are made the same and so the ingredients there may not be what other locations have. Therefore, it took us a while to decide what we had wanted. The girl preparing our ingredients got so frustrated at us and was giving us a fit. so unprofessional. Gosh, sorry we wasted a few minutes just to decide what we wanted! Overall, the pizza was ok. The crust is really thin so if you get a lot of toppings, I feel like the crust is going to break. I’m not sure if it’s the combination of the ingredients put together, but after a few slices, my mouth was so dry because of the saltiness.

A nice local pizza place that let’s you cutomize your pizza the way you want for a good price $ 5.99. Good selection of toppings Servers are friendly and you can see your pizza being cooked in front of you. You can also make your own pasta or salad which costs the same, their sides are ok but not the best.

I love the concept of Pie 12 Pizza! Create your own pizza, pasta or salad! Their CIY(create it yourself) assembly line is quite diverse. 3 – 4 types of pasta, numerous sauces, various cheeses, tons of meat toppings, bunch of leafy greens and other assorted goodies. For people who are confused where the line starts, the moment you walk through the door, just walk straight to the counter, where a nice employee will ask you what you will be creating. S/he then will guide you along the process. I love the Pie 12 concept because for a fixed price, you can add as much stuff you want to your creation. My first visit, I chose the pasta and made the mistake of overflowing my tray with too much pasta and not enough veggies and meats. The employees are very friendly here, I like the fact that they are actually enthusiastic about working. Since it hasn’t been a month since they opened, they are still suffering service line issues. The employees might disorganize themselves because of the complication of the food assembly line but I think that’s something that can be created over time as the business ages. I talked to the manager of Pie 12 and it seems he has some great plans for the place. After the $ 5.99 promotion is over, he said the price rise up to $ 7.50 which I believe is still a good value for this place. I hope this place succeeds and can maybe incorporate more premium quality ingredients into the food assembly line.

I’m not super close to a Pieology so luckily these smaller places pop up near me! $ 6.99 make your own choose as many toppings as you want! Yum! I went around 6:30pm on a Friday and it was sorta packed. Line took forever to get through. The pizza didn’t take long to cook but it wasn’t heated all the way through either. The girl put too much cheese on mine so it was very cheesy. Wish there was less. All in all I’d still go back though cause it was a good pizza even if it wasn’t heated all the way through.

I heard Pizza 12 just opened next to Daiso in ELAC area. I went at 11:30am and got a nice greeting from an employee. The place looks nice but not sure where to line up. They offer unlimited toppings on pizza, salad, and pasta for $ 5.99. The manager kept an eye on the person who was helping me. She didn’t bother to help other people lined up behind me. Soon another employee came to assist people behind me. The pizza is thin crust and it’s not crispy like Blaze pizza. You have choice of oil, 2 types of marinara sauce, meat toppings, cheese toppings, and veggie toppings. It takes 5 min to cook pizzas. They have tables and booths to sit which is nice. Parking lot can be busy at times. I gave 3 stars due to no signs of where to stand.

I have been hearing this new concept of building your own pizza and pasta like a assembly line new to me and my wife. It’s just a Subway build your own sub like hamburgers and sushi but building my own pizza I wanna try it. My wife and I went to Pie 12 Build your own pizza and pasta, salad in Altantic Square in Monterey Park. The pizzeria is located just a block away from E.L.A College is perfect location for students and shoppers who shop at Altantic square. This use to be Anna Linens space before Pie 12 took over this space. We came in to the restaurant it was really nice we saw were were order our salad or pasta they were so many ingredients to choose on your salad and pasta. We got our salad next is our build our own pizza same so many ingredients to add on the pizza including sauces we decided the ingredients for our pizza and headed to the cashier to pay and we order wings and drinks plus she give us a buzzer knowing our pizza is ready. The salad we build came out really delicious we couldn’t wait for our pizza and wings. Couple minutes later I pick our pizza and wings. I took a bite of the wings, wow they really good they unique flavor that waking my taste buds. I felt cinnamon or cumin flavor but I’m not sure overall we enjoy it. The pizza we created was amazing good so much flavors we finish the whole thing. I really like the thin crust but I love the thick dough. Thin crust give the crunch to the crust. Over we enjoy Pie 12 creating your own was totally new experience to us creating our own pizza was fun definitely delicious good. I recommend Pie 12 to our family and friends including my Unilocal friends.

When people ask me, how do you rate a restaurant? What is the criteria? my answer is always, food first then service… why you ask, because if the food suck but the people are friendly, what did I just pay for? This place has both! Looks small from the outside but it is quite large on the inside. Now for the reason for my rating; fresh ingredients, friendly and quick service(with people who clearly know what they are doing, this tells me they were thoroughly trained and not thrown out there on an opening weekend, no panicking or flustered employees)…and of course, my pizza my way. Place is designed like a subway but for pizza, pasta and salads. However, they are going to give Little Ceasar’s a run for their money because for a measly $ 5.99 you can choose what goes into your pie, pasta or salad; its unlimited people!!! You can tell a lot of thought went into this place, clean and a well and simple furnished establishment. Restrooms are clean, well stocked; however there is no mirror. Now let’s get to the food, I ordered the pizza, it is a thin crust, piled up my toppings and in about 5mins, presto! It was done, but let me say this, I’ve been to those 90 sec-make your own pizza places that the pizza is not evenly cooked, not this place! Cooked evenly n perfectly, they even managed to cut off some minor burnt edges! The best part is that I didn’t feel stuffed, bloated or regretful after, like I normally do after eating a pizza. Maybe it’s because of their fresh ingredients! Oh and did I mention you could order boba too?! Going to try that next time, btw its $ 1.99!!! I hope this place sticks around for a long time, definitely needed a place this like in this area!
