If you like Chinese style«side dishes» then you will love this place! Everything is super spicy and the flavor cannot be beat! I got turned on by this type of food from a good friend of mine who is Chinese from China. At first it may take some getting used to, but if you’re a foodie and love to explore different types of food then this is a must! But you need to love to eat spicy. This is a spicy lovers HEAVEN!

So it was my bad that I didn’t read the reviews of this place, but we were trying to find some duck tongue that might taste like the duck tongues in Taiwan’s night markets. We were driving around SGV/MP and Unilocaled anything that had duck tongue, one of it was this place. It’s located near some Taipei Center, so we thought it would probably be legit. We came in thinking that we’ll get half a pound of duck tongue, since there isn’t many places that would offer it. We didn’t see any obvious prices, so we just asked the guy for ½ lb. When he put it on the scale, my jaw just dropped seeing how much it was. The price was around $ 31+ dollars for ½ lb! So I saw the price per pound, and it read $ 57.99! Completely shocked I asked the guy if that’s how much it was per pound, and he just nodded. Eventually we just asked for a few pieces, got down to $ 8 bucks(around 10 tongues). After trying it, it wasn’t even close, it is a bit different from other places, not worth $ 58 per lb. We were able to find other restaurants that had far more reasonable prices, like Sam Woo($ 8.49 per lb) and Sham tseng bbq($ 8.99 per lb). Not that we stayed and ate at the place, but we didn’t see any customers, and as some reviewers noted, the place doesn’t really look like a restaurant… Will definitely pass them next time we’re in the area.

Two words, «Don’t Go». This place is waste of my money and time. The servers are horrible. Foods are overrated. Beware of ordering«goose intestine», they charge $ 57 per pound, and it doesn’t even taste good. Go at your own risk!

DIRTY, NOSERVICE, THISISNOT A RESTAURANT. Imagine a dirty college dorm room– Sour smell, dirty dusty table, computer and clutter, old food, un-uniformed guy sitting and watching his computer with this mess, equipment sitting tables … and on and on. This is not the back of the house. This is what the dining room looks like. Bathroom sink counter had all kinds of weird used home use products on it. Looked like someone was living there. Surprised not to see used toothbrush and toothpaste. So dark in the bathroom and thank god. I didn’t want to see how bad it really was in there. Dining room was more of a break room, office, warehouse, … and a vacuum pack machine there to pack stuff. Staff people ! Be professional! Would you want to eat in a place like this? Close the dining room and just do to go orders. You obviously don’t care about your dine in customers. How did you get and A from the health department? Or do you have a spare A sign that you put up? Hard to even remember the food. Truly pitiful.

The best spicy duck place in Los angles. Must try place. They got duck head, neck, tongue, Wing, and etc with different level of spicy’s you want. plus so many other kinds of side dishes. It’s a must buy place when I having a party at home. Or even for just few friends came over hang around at home and have few drinks. I personal loves their duck neck(with extremely super spicy level) Now they also server hot dishes as well.

«Cold“customer services. But they offer tasty food. I love spicy food and I will go there again. Duck necks and heads are cheap & spicy.

I eat here for many times. Spicy duck necks, mushroom and pig feet are my favorite. The owner is a nice girl. Recommend the food if you like some food while you watch TV or movie.

Their food is pretty good!!! The only downside to it is that they have bad service. The server/cashier person just gives people an attitude which makes me reconsider if I want to return to this place. If you don’t mind the service and just eat their food, this place has awesome spicy food! The interior look is not like wow, is just a normal looking restaurant. Located right next to younique café :) Oh forgot to let you guys know, their English is wack!!! Good luck!!!

NEEDBALLSTOEATTHIS In 2013, I found a new Sichuan restaurant named Spice Spirit and excitedly posted a review. Unilocal gave me a «1st-to-review» badge which made me feel good. I’m so pathetic. It’s now 2014, and for the past week, my sweetie’s been feeding me organic Urth Caffe shit causing my body to be out of whack. Starved for something oily and fiery, I drove back to Spice Spirit. I must have rubbed off some bad feng shui with my «1st-to-review» because it’s now out of business. A new sign in front beckoned me in with these mysterious words: «Spicy Duck, Wang La Ya Inc». $ 60 per pound. No, it’s not smuggled foie gras. It’s duck tongue, Sichuan style. The most expensive of the many odd duck parts(gizzard, chin, neck, feet) served here. They make no attempt to dress it up… you’re given a pile of amputated inch-long duck tongues. I know most of you wusses don’t have the balls to try, so I’ll tell you what it’s like. Having eaten Filipino balut and Japanese grasshoppers in the past, I learned that if you stare at it, it will win. So, I shut my eyes, popped a tongue in my mouth, and started chewing. Mmmm… there was actually quite a bit of meat. The consistency reminded me of baby octopus. In the center was a long piece of hard cartilage which I spit out. The flavor of the duck was strong, while the numbing of the Sichuan peppercorn mild. I must have eaten 15, and thought these would go well with beer and UFC. While leaving, I asked the server if they plan to get a liquor license. She simply smiled, perhaps not understanding me due to the Chinese-English barrier. I sure hope what I enjoyed were duck tongues.
