Calvary Chapel Monterey Bay

The purpose of going to church is to read the bible book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse! You want to know Gods character, the way God communicated to his people, learn the Jewish culture and build your relationship with Jesus. You also want to know who’s who, how they are related and where does it fit in according to the scriptures. I feel that Calvary Chapel teaches this way and this is why I recommend it. You are responsible to make sure what the pastor is teaching is biblical and that he is not deceiving you. You can bring your bible to follow along.

Pastor Nate really brings the message across to offer strength for all families and with great humor to grab the teens attention as well. The grill is a great place for people to sit together and families to have meals before or after church. Great food and services. 3 morning and 1 evening, great schedule for all the different schedules. :)

I love this church. If you want a church that teaches the truth about what the bible actually says this is it. A friendly crowd of people. You will learn and grow here. There are seasons of «lifegroups» where you can join a group of people who are in a similar life stage as you, where you can meet great people.

Pastor Nate brings the Word of God so faithfully every week. He teaches verse by verse, so if you are looking for a church to learn and grow, and not just a feel good message – come visit!
Church is every Sunday morning at 7:30, 9:00, and 11:00 and 6:30.
You will be welcomed by a greeter where then you will find a seat. We sing songs of worship for about 20 – 25 minutes. During worship you can sing, raise your hands, stand quietly, or even sit during worship.
Next a pastor will welcome everyone collectively with some announcements, and then Pastor Nate will come up to teach.
People are friendly, worship is great and the views of the surrounding scenery is incredible.
There is also a restaurant on site where you can grab a cup of coffee to bring into church, or go for a meal breakfast or lunch before or after the service.
There’s also wonderful child care available from infants to high school with fingerprinted staff excited to hang with your kids while you worship!

I am so glad I have found Calvary Monterey!
Having just moved to the Monterey area, I am excited to get involved in this church. They offer a variety of services– Sunday gatherings, life groups, worship nights and Wednesday night life church. Everybody there seems very kind and welcoming and Pastor Nate gives great sermons that are both informative and offer a few good laughs.

A wonderful church! Pastor Nate and his staff are truly gifted. Great teaching, great worship, great children’s ministry, and great fellowship. Can’t say enough about how much my family and I feel at home at Calvary Chapel. I highly recommend Calvary Chapel for those looking for a great Bible teaching church.
