2009 Seattle Chocolate Salon Review Smooth chocolate, with very faint flavorings. I tasted several flavors at the 2009 Seattle Chocolate Salon and the Lemongrass Ginger was disappointing. The strong dark chocolate over powered the lemon and there was no ginger in my piece at all. I agree with part of Wilhem’s review from 2 years ago… the wine chocolates did not leave me with the feeling of Port, Cabernet. or Champagne. If it had been a blind taste test I would have said these were plain chocolate with no added flavor.

Évaluation du lieu : 4 San Francisco, CA
Marketed under the brand name L ‘Estaci Dolce(Sweet Ecstasy) this chocolatier offered several samples of their Asian-fusion confections and wine-flavored truffles at the recent San Francisco International Chocolate Salon. I tried all four of the wine truffles(Port, Cabernet Sauvignon, Champagne, and Pinot Noir). The chocolates were quite smooth, but the flavors were just off a bit. The Port was downright gross and the Champagne gave off a taste of cheap champagne. The Cabernet and the Pinot Noir fared a bit better with my tastebuds. Their Peanut Ginger Chocolate described as «pureed peanuts and crystallized ginger enrobed in European dark chocolate» tasted like nothing more than peanut butter covered in smooth dark chocolate. I could not taste the ginger at all. The one sample that did blow me away was the Lemongrass Ginger Truffle. Locked within the smooth dark chocolate shell was an exciting, explosive creamy center with a tangy lemongrass flavor and a blast of ginger. Apparently other show attendees felt the same way as this was the only confection that they had completely sold out of. L ‘Estaci Dolce chocolates are available directly from their website; a list of retail stores can be obtained by calling them or dropping an email at .
