I think people think this place is closed cause I’m sitting here at Peter B’s in the patio constantly looking over my shoulder seeing if this place has opened. It’s 6:20 pm. Signs says open at 5:00. It’s not tho. Hmm. Will update. 6:58 pm. We strolled by and it seems to be opened so hopefully they adjust their signs and update their business hours.

This restaurant is NOT closed and not only is it not closed, the servers had NO idea why it was listed as being closed– because they said they’d never closed their doors even for a vacation or anything. If you want Hookah, drinks and Mediterranean food, this is the place to go. The outdoor fire pits are a nice place to gather on those cool sea-breezy nights and the music was an eclectic mix of 80’s, classic rock and modern pop. A fun, relaxed atmosphere. 4 stars only because the drinks were imperfectly mixed(still good, but needed a little TLC) and the servers need to be more prompt when making the coal rounds– BUT I expect that our next visit will see this bumped up to 5 stars.

This place was terrible ! I went on vacation in Monterrey and wanted to smoke hookah and they charged us each $ 10 to go in and then they didn’t seat us or greeted us, and then we ordered hookah and took them a good half hour to take out which is the same time to take our order. And the hookah head is so small and the charcoal was terrible they had small little pebbles for the charcoal. And they were charging us almost 40 bucks which we didn’t even smoke for that long we were there for like 20 minutes. Terrible just terrible never went back again. If it’s about hookah it’s literally worth it to make hookah at home or drive out to San Jose the swinging hookah lounge for a good time of fun and excellent service and very good hookah

I came here with friends after a local recommended that we could come here with out underage friends and drink, eat good food, smoke hookah and be merry. He warned us that the service was slow. I wait tables. I get that having ten tables that all need your attention can be stressful and make service slow, but this was ridiculous. I don’t smoke hookah, so I can’t rate that. My friend’s got a good recommendation on flavor which they appreciated. The hookah took 40 minutes to get to us and then was hitting really harshly for some reason and you have to have an employee check it out, I don’t think they knew what was wrong either by the time we got them over to our table to check it. We didn’t order food, but we all ordered drinks and were id’d when we ordered. They then took 30 minutes to get to us. One of my friends ordered a blue moon and it didn’t get to her for an hour. I don’t know if the server forgot to put it in, or the bartender forgot to set it out. But I do know that you don’t run drinks or food till you know that it’s all there. The blue moon she received tasted like watered down Coors light and didn’t come with an orange. Suspicious. We only ordered one round because the service was so slow. A plus, I didn’t like my seabreeze, I had never had one and wanted to try one and chose this day, I don’t like grapefruit juice it turns out. I took it to the bartender and asked to have orange juice or pineapple put in so that I could drink it and he made me a whole new drink. No where in this facility did I or my friends see a sign that said, «No outside food or drink.» I bring a camelbak water bottle around with me everywhere so that I don’t get dehyrated, and since I had drank my water in my cup I had the bottle on the table for over an hour since we got there. Near the end of our time I decided to take a sip of it because I was thirsty. I had no sooner raised it to my lips when a female employee barged over to me, grabbed it out of my hand and told me that that wasn’t allowed and that she had to take it. I said to her that it was just water, I understand and can we dump it out and I can put it back in my purse. She said no and told us we had to get it from her when we left. There were 200 people there… and she expected us to find her when we wanted to leave? She was very rude. She could have just told us that that wasn’t allowed. I was kind of appaled since I have had to deal with the same situation. It’s all about how you handle it and she didn’t seem like a very happy person. When we went to ask security at the entrance for it as we were leaving, they said they had never seen it and my friend saw the bottle stashed behind a trash can near the dance floor… I would not recommend this place unless you want to spend a lot of time with rude people, and slow drinks

Watch your bills, they can easily rip u off which they did to me and my friends. They charged each extra $ 10 at least. Very disappointing, I like this place but I think I’m gonna have a second thought.

Although I don’t smoke hookah, it’s a cool atmosphere to hang out. It’s nice of them to allow customer to bring outside cigars to smoke in their store. But they will not win 3+ star from me until they get a better bartender.

Yep, the service is still terrible. I called to ask what hookah costs and someone answered the phone by saying«Hello.» I asked if I’d reached Indian Summer, & he says«Yeah.»(They’re so warm and helpful.) He answered my question, but that brief interaction reminded me exactly why I don’t go to this place. It’s a joke ~ even the employees don’t care about being there. Don’t expect them to care that you’ve shown up, either.

Think I was here for the length of a quickly consumed jack and coke. Overflowed with underage military. Place is kind of dirty and desperate.

They use two coals on a tiny a** bowl for a two hose hookah. Nuff said. Foods pretty good.

Super busy to the point it took forever to find a table. Good food but its expensive. The wait for everything was ridiculous. I think maybe it was because they were understaffed. There was a lot of teenagers acting crazy. I would go again only for the hookah, but I would go with food in my belly and I would walk in expecting drunk people.

I’ve been here a few times but last weekend prompted me to review the hookah lounge. Our friends and I were waiting to get a table, as it’s first come first serve, and when we did, the waitress informed us someone had been waiting a long time and that we’d get the next table. Trying to be courteous we let them have it. She also informed us to wait in a certain area as to not disturb current customers. Three empty tables later(which we were not able to get due to the area she had us wait at) she informed us it was a first come first serve basis and that she couldn’t guarantee us a table. Why would you literally have us give up the table in the first place then? Last time im coming, take the drive to San Jose or elsewhere better than coming here! Also the pitcher of beers(small pitchers) were thirty dollars– super expensive!

I have came here at least three times since I’ve lived in the Monterey county. The first time I ever came to Indian summers was on a date in 2011. I thought it was so romantic. There are lanterns that go around outside and fire pits that are always on. I fell in love with him here. It was the first time I tried Indian food and it was amazing one of the best Indian experiences I have had and always brings back wonderful memories every time I come here with friends. Great atmosphere, wonderful service and can always expect a good time.

Cool place — lots of people on the balcony, sometimes service is sometimes a little slow, but reasonable since there are so many people. Didn’t get a chance to try their food. Drinks were a little weak, but great spot to hangout and smoke hookah **Love the little fireplaces/pits they have on their balcony **

We had a great meal here last Thursday, 1⁄31. The Chicken Tandoori was the juiciest I have ever tasted, and the shrimp dish we ordered was also excellent(similar to shrimp scampi). Great vegetables served with it too(a mixture of sauteed potatoes, mushrooms, brussels sprouts and asparagus). The chef came out to talk with us to see how we liked our meal. He was a very friendly guy, and we appreciated the fact that he took the time to do this. We had never eaten there before. I see from some of the other reviews here that Indian Summer was more of an Indian restaurant before. I can see how menu changes might be disappointing. But what we had there was truly delicious! The service was a little slow, which is the only reason why I’m giving Indian Summer a 4, rather than a 5. The outdoor area with a fire pit and bar looked fun too for a warmer night. We will definitely go back!

Worst customer service ever. Not once did a waiter/waitress stop at our table. No prices are listed so get ready for a big bill if you drink alcohol. Recommendation: don’t visit. When we complained about the bill — we were threatened to leave…“You have 60 seconds to leave before we call the police”. Can you believe that?

This place was hopping the Friday night we were there. Well, at least it was outside with the music and hookah lounge. Inside we were the only diners. Plus they started tearing the room down around us while we were eating so they could have a DJ and dance floor later on. The service started out good enough but slowed down considerably as time went on. I guess there was only a couple of guys to take care of us and the crowd outside. Guess who got the better service? Yeah… not us. It was friendly though, and we weren’t in any hurry, so no real complaints there. However the food was pretty decent, in my opinion. I ordered the rogan josh(lamb) which I thought was excellent; my husband got the tandoori chicken, which was actually still moist and really tasty. The best thing about my meal was actually a side of lentils. Not sure what all they did to it but I couldn’t stop eating it! Also there was a mango dressing on my little side salad that was quite nice. I ended with some kheer which was good, but nothing out of this world. All in all one of the better meals of our trip, despite the place being turned into a dance floor around us.

I came here recently after a long absence because this place used to suck! Apparently they are under new ownership and it shows! No more are the days where you have to pay a cover charge to get in on the weekends, No longer are the days where your hookah has issues hitting properly. No longer are the days of shitty ass service! Our server Joe was awesome! He is a great salesman and an asset to Indian Summer. By the end of the night, I realize how he up-sold us on everything we wanted. Because he took very good care of me and my friends he ended up with a very nice tip. Final Thoughts: Cannot wait to return! I hope this great experience wasn’t just a one fluke! Time will tell how consistent they are.

This is a review for their drink/cocktail services. We went there a couple months ago and I felt really bad for the bartender. I think he was new and he didn’t know what he was doing. He had to look at the recipes for cocktails through his coworker’s iPhone. He didn’t even know how to make a Purple Hooter when another customer asked for it. Then he got slammed and took FOOOOREVVVVERRRRR to make our drinks. When he made our drinks, he made it soooo weak and all I tasted was juice. At least he was nice enough to add a splash more of liquor when I complained that there was barely any alcohol in my drink. The hookah was really nice. I like how they have heaters to keep you warm. My favorite is the pineapple flavored hookah. It’s really smooth and it lasted a good while. I’m probably just going to be back for hookah and not for drinks.

Showed up on a Monday night around 7:30pm with my friends for hookah and food. The place was completely deserted except for one table that was just getting ready to leave. We started off by ordering some drinks, 2 Old Monk Beer and a Mango Lassi. Fifteen minutes later our drinks show up. Definitely was not pleased with the slow service, a persistent theme that would follow throughout the night. I was the only one who wanted food so I ended up ordering a half order of the Tandoori Chicken: chicken on the bone marinated in special Indian spices and cooked in the clay oven for $ 7.95 + added a full meal for $ 3.50 which came with Korma Sauce, Basmati rice, Plain Naan and Kachumber salad. The Tandoori Chicken came out sizzling on a hot plate and filled the air with a delicious aroma. The portion was quite generous and packed some serious flavor. The spices were well balanced, had great savoriness, and extremely moist. Korma sauce was delicious, great viscosity and just a hint of sweetness Salad dressing was fruity yet satisfying Basmati rice was decent but bland Naan was sensational, served warmed and had a great bite to them My friend changed his mind and decided to order a Naan Basket for $ 9.95. The portion was quite generous, granted one is paying $ 10 for bread, but regardless a decent bargain if you like Naan. Overall Thoughts If service was better I think I would have given this place a higher rating because the food is definitely 5 star worthy
