I’ve been going to JumpstartMD for several months and have made significant progress — over 30 pounds. The staff is very friendly and takes time with you each appointment. The generally discuss any issues faced in the previous week as well as whether there are any challenges in the upcoming week and strategies to successfully meet them. I like the fact that there is a biweekly option — as long as I am doing well, I don’t think I need to go every week, and I also like the fact that if I reach a point where I am having issues, there is another gear available to go to. The best thing about JumpStartMD is that it seems sustainable. I’ve tried a lot of different diets, but even if I was losing weight with them, most of them seemed to be unsustainable in the long run: I couldn’t see myself following the diet forever. Although Jumpstart’s diet severely restricts what you can have, especially carbs, it hasn’t seemed that hard to follow for these months, and once you hit goal, some of that gets folded back into the diet. On most other diets, the idea of hitting my goal weight was more about being able to eat again rather than the satisfaction of success. With Jumpstart, I anticipate I will be able to continue following the diet while adding the additional foods to maintain my weight.
