I love this counter. Mikey taught me to do my own eyeliner(because I was terrible at it) and to blend shadows flawlessly. He also got me into lipsticks and now I’m obsessed! Iggy got me out of my old foundation into one much more suited for my skin. My experiences have consistently been positive. Everyone has been warm, friendly, and helpful. I appreciate the team here!

I have been to this MAC3 times now. All three times I have been treated with disrespect and not taken seriously. I actually had my makeup done there once, not even because I was going anywhere but because I was going to be buying that much product, I wanted to try it all. I believe I spent $ 120 the first time. The initial man who did my makeup literally had NO idea what he was doing. Every product he put on my face was awful and was NO where close to matching… I literally almost walked out. Then he said he was going on his break and the manager Iggy did my makeup. This is the only professional and good worker I experienced. He told me to wipe every thing off, because he could tell it was awful without even asking my opinion. Well I got my products and left feeling kind of… whatever. I was definitely there an hour longer then I needed to be and the experience was whatever. So I go in again, and it is this brunette girl. She ignored me for the first 10 minutes, without anyone in the store, and I had a lot to ask but I guess she was doing her own thing. Then, I finally go up to her and tell her I would like the soft and gentle and she goes to get it, sees another customer and instantly starts talking to them, in NO way that she even acknowledged me. I came in planning to spend a lot of money but I just got it and I left a little disappointed. So I go in ONE more time to give this place a chance. I had 6MAC products with me to turn in for a lipstick. Pretty expensive products to. What do you know, it is the same girl. This time she at least greets me. She is with another person though. I am looking at the lipsticks and she helps me sanitize them to try on, well 2. I only got to try 2 and I needed help but she was consumed in someone else. I did see Iggy there but he just went into the back and I never saw him again. Im pretty frustrated at this point because I have questions and I can not even get her attention. I finally just kind of interupt after 10 minutes and say I will just take this one. So she goes and gets the lipstick. she goes to hand it to me ANDDROPSTHE $ 16LIPSTICKONTHEGROUND! She says sorry, and HANDSITTOME. It was scratched. All along the back. She did not even look at me and went back to the other person. I was so over it at this point. I walk out of the store, and notice something. I go back in and say may I please have a box for my lipstick at least? She goes No, you got it for free, no box. I have been using MAC for years. Everytime I trade in 6 products, I at least get a freaking box. I like my MAC in its boxes, I dont know, because it is easy to store and they are high quality products, that cost a lot of money. Granted I did get it for free, but I had to buy 6 products to get it. Hello? Literally, NEVER, EVER, EVER going back to that MAC and only going to the one in my hometown. I have never been treated so badly by a makeup artist/business that considers themselves that high-end. Considering leaving MAC altogether.

As girly of a girl as I am, makeup has never been my strong point. I struggle with shadow, am perplexed with primer, frustrated with foundation, and blindsided with blending. Most days I can figure out a simple liner, but for special occasions, I need to hire an expert to help guide my path to pretty. I’ve had good experiences with MAC in the past, and turns out, this one was no different. Located strangely far away from the rest of the makeup kiosks inside Macy’s, MAC is conveniently right next to Michael Kors, which made me feel right at home. I arrived before my scheduled appointment, and even though I was early, they took me immediately. My makeup artist was Jesse, a friendly, bubbly guy, with perfect skin, and flawless eyelashes. We chatted for awhile, I showed him photos of my desired ideas, hair and dress, and then I took a seat. Through a process that I can only describe as better than Disney magic, he turned what walked in as a 2, into a solid 8+. He took guidance in things I wanted highlighted or changed, helped consult with me on skin color matching, and even gave me tips on how to use brushes. I was confident putting my face in his competent hands for a very important event, and he did not let me down. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Jesse at MAC and have him do my makeup again for any other events in the future, and have only good things to say about my experience.

After reading a couple of reviews, I had to go find Terri at the MAC counter of Macy’s, in Monterey. DEFINITELYCALLFORANAPPT! Terri has to be the best makeup stylist I’ve ever worked with. Listening to me, giving me wonderful advise and council on techniques. Plan to be there for a while as she has to stop to take care of walk-in customers.
