I had the oysters and clam linguini. One of the oysters had a shrimp tail on it. Wouldn’t have been too bad if I wasn’t allergic to shrimp. The linguini was ok could have made something better at home. I ordered a margarita and the waiter was about to put it into a martini glass. My friends joked about it and he called my friend a dick and stormed off. It was very awkward.

such a good place to be at after visiting the beach here in Monterey. Great price, and the food is fantastic. A hidden treasure that serves the best Scalone in town. gonna come back ASAP. Great view as you enjoy your meal in the day time, or at night.

They sent the bartender who was amazing home at 7pm and let the waiter tend bar. This bar has 5 seats and our party of four people. To celebrate the nuptials of two of our party we ordered three topshelf burbons and a topshelf margarita, the whiskers rocks with a splash. The first bourbon poured was filled with Coke. One of our party accepted and took that drink Mark the waiter made the last two correctly. Then came the margarita… The inability of the waiter to make one lead to him stating all I know how to do is pour a heavy drink. Which I responded to with at least you know how to do one thing right. His response«are you always a dick» my response of course was yes! He then stormed off In a fit of rage. Another employee which was a bus boy, came and made a margarita which I hear was delicious. Too bad the environment, was so that nothing was enjoyable. Obviously at this point we asked for our tab it took forever to get it and then I was handed the tab and told I was closed out so don’t worry about tipping. I signed and left a 20 $ bill. ANDTHEN… One of the waitresses approached upon leaving. Her name… DONNA! Told me I was out of line. Her horse, so high, aproached me aggressively as I was walking out. I don’t know what she said as I blocked it out but judging on her tone. I am sure she is happy I don’t remember word for word. But none the less it wasn’t customer service.

One of my favorite dinner places when I’m in town. Great daily seafood specials and prompt courteous service. Been here twice in the past two years and the experience was similar both times. Great clam chowder and amazingly fresh calamari. Wonderful views of Monterey bay. Less busy than some of the other spots in town if your looking to get away from the crowds.

Awesome as usual. Good food and service too. The window views of the Monterey harbor are spectacular. Not crowded like Fishermans Wharf.

Came here on a Friday around 1:30PM. I felt a little uneasy when I saw only 2 tables with customers. But since I was there anyway I decided to give it a try. My sister ordered a lobster tail spaghetti and it tasted so bland. I ordered a medium cooked $ 28 New York steak. However, the steak was fully cooked and the meat tasted like overcooked pork chop. I had some bad steaks before but this one takes the cake. Meanwhile another person had a $ 9 cheeseburger and that cheapest item within the entire menu actually taste the best out of all our expensive $ 20+ dishes. I only give it two stars because the waitress/waiter were nice.

Food is really not bad at all. Location is not as ideal as Fishermans Wharf. Service was pretty good. She did good, but we did have to wait a while for things. Prices were a little high I feel. Over all I’d say 7. I’d go back for sure, if nothing better was available.

Expensive, poor service, and food was not good. The server barely spoke to us, threw to go boxes and didn’t ask if we wanted dessert or how our food was. Very disappointed by all the items that we ordered. Greasy, no flavor, poor craftsmanship on how they sliced the veg. As a foodie and someone who enjoys paying for great food, service, and ambiance this was far below average.

We were planning to have dinner on Cannery Row on our last night in Monterey but decided to explore the area a bit. So glad we got away from the noise and hustle-bustle of Cannery Row and found this quiet restaurant on the harbor, over by the Coast Guard Wharf. We almost missed it though. It’s tucked away in a corner across a small parking lot. We walked up to the building and up the stairs. The place was hopping that night with some private business dinner of sorts. We asked to be seated on the patio/balcony and were accommodated right away. The view of the bay is beautiful, even in the evening. There were heat lamps above each table to compensate for the cool evening breeze and we did end up turning it on. Drink orders were taken and our lovely server suggested we try their clam chowder; we obliged. A basket of bread was brought out and we noticed the bread was cold. She stated that that was how the bread was served but would be able to get it warmed up for us and we appreciated the courtesy. Hubby and I shared a cup of clam chowder, which was both hot and delicious and very non-fishy; it really was the best clam chowder I’d ever had. The cup is small(definitely enough for a single person) but we wanted to save room for our entrees. For the main course, I ordered the Salmon Ravioli and hubby ordered the Sand dab plate. My ravioli was AMAZING! Both the pasta and the fish appeared fresh and the cream sauce they were in was so savory. Hubby’s sand dabs seemed fresh but lacked some flavor. They did include tartar sauce and some lemon to dress it up. I don’t know much about sand dab, so it maybe it’s just served that way. Prices were reasonable; $ 4.00 for a cup of soup, $ 16.00 for the Sand dab plate, $ 22.00 for the Salmon Ravioli. In the end, we were both satisfied; portion sizes were decent; I ended up taking some of my ravioli home. Even with the place packed, we felt like service was adequate and we were never ignored by our server. We’d love to visit again if we’re ever in the area.

Went on the recommendation of our hotel. Great restaurant on the water! Lovely woman(owner?) seated us and treated us to the fried calamari appetizer… wow! Not only was the calamari great I don’t think I have ever had a restaurant treat me! Waitress was very informative and efficient. I had the pasta and shrimp and my husband had the salmon which was a special that evening. Both were outstanding! The pasta was al dente and the shrimp was fresh. The sauce was light and flavorful… not heavy. The salmon was amazing and cooked to perfection. Really a lovely unexpected evening at a beautiful restaurant that is run with pride of ownership.

Nobody here is trying to reinvent the wheel, and it works just fine. Best view of the marina in Monterey. Food is fresh and simple. Three beers on tap are local and they’re cheap! Small dining room & bar would be a great location to buy out for a company party. The décor is sad ‘80s, but the staff is happy and genuine. Other than needing a facelift, this place is solid.

Had dinner here the one night we were visiting Monterey and was very disappointed. The restaurant is located by the pier and they have a balcony that you can walk out to overlooking the Bay, boats and the City. It’s a beautiful view with a sky full of stars. When you walk in to the restaurant, it smells delicious. So far so good but now onto the food. Poor execution, lack of flavors and lack of quality on the ingredients pretty much sums up the meal. The bread they served was cold and dry. If you cannot serve good bread, skip it. We ordered the roasted garlic appetizer. The garlic itself was good but the rest of the plate just felt like a bunch of ingredients out of cans. On fact the feta cheese tasted a little old. For our entrées we had the Bouillabaisse and the fish of the day. The Bouillabaisse was pretty tasty but the seafood tasted frozen and fishy. I didn’t feel so well after finishing my meal. The fish which was grilled was bland and had no flavor. We did not see our server the entire time of the meal and had to ask someone else for the check. This place is a tourist trap. While I see the creativity, the execution, service and quality needs work. I will not be coming back.

Went here to grab lunch on the water with aunt who was visiting. 1st the service was amazing. Our waitress, Coco, was so kind, energetic and attentive. She sold us on the clams and linguine and the sand dabs both done perfectly. The clam chowder is delicious just the right amount of creaminess and lots of tender clams! The artichoke was pretty tasty as well with a balsamic glaze and grilled. On a side note they serve three local beers on tap!
