While visiting from SF, my wife and I decided to try some acupuncture and discovered this amazing place. We both had never done it before. I had some work related stress I wanted to try treating, and I even mentioned that I was having some pain in my sinuses after a prior diving exercise. Sharon was great. She ensured that I was comfortable, answered all of my questions, and made sure to focus on treating my conditions. I still feel amazing, no more sinus pain. And the price is great. I’m very thankful to Sharon for introducing me to this new type of treatment. The wife and I will definitely be stopping by the next time we come visit Monterey.

A great solution to being able to afford regular acupuncture to get the best results. She helped me through a period of severe grief. I don’t think most people would look to acupuncture to help with grief but I don’t know how I would have gotten by without her. Also helped reduce stress.

I have been going to Monterey Community Acupuncture for about a month and a half. I recently noticed a sense of overall well being that I have not had in a long time. Also noticed some improvement in mood. The treatment is not at all painful. Even though there are usually others in the room, it is barely noticeable. Sharon is very nice and remembers me and what my issues are. Thanks for your help and expertise Sharon!

I have been seeing Sharon on an almost-​weekly basis for about two years while going through infertility treatments. I feel that acupuncture was a tremendous complement to my infertility treatments. It allowed me to relax, de-​stress, and provide additional support to my reproductive system. Sharon is very caring and thorough. I appreciate that she offers a sliding scale because there’s no way I could have afforded it otherwise. I would often arrive to my treatment with a headache and find that it was gone after treatment. The treatment room has really comfortable, reclining chairs and there’s always relaxing music playing. I’ve recommended Sharon to several friends– even ones who are afraid of needles. It doesn’t hurt!

I have an issue that American medicine wants to treat with hormones and surgery that I am avoiding successfully with weekly acupuncture treatments and Chinese herbs. With Sharon’s direction, I have also added moxibustion and dietary changes. Most insurance doesn’t cover acupuncture but with
Community based acupuncture I can go at least once if not twice a week! TCM treats many issues. Do yourself a favor and try it. She’ll help with your needle phobia, too.

I have always been VERY afraid of needles and thus apprehensive about acupuncture. Sharon was very understanding of my fear and was very receptive to my needs. I have been going to her for acupuncture for several months and love it every time! The treatments have helped reduce my stress levels and IBS. I thought it would be weird being in a room with other patients, but it actually seems to help the treatment it is soothing and kind of like a white noise effect when Sharon is talking and working with other patients.
If you have never done acupuncture this is the place to go. It is affordable because of the sliding pay scale and Sharon is awesome!

I had a mediocre acupuncturist in the area through my doctor that only cost me a co-​pay. She left his practice, so I began looking for a new one and stumbled upon Monterey County Acupuncture. Sharon is awesome! You may be alone in the big room or you may share with other people (hence community), but the personal care is never sacrificed. Acupuncture has helped my stress induced migraines and other issues.
You pay on a sliding scale, cash only, so it’s more affordable than a traditional acupuncturist. She offers massage and Dorn therapy as well. I highly recommend her, even if it creates appointment competition. MCA now offers Saturday appointments and takes walk-​ins, but appointments are recommended. You can book easily online.

I am grateful that Monterey Community Acupuncture exists! I am working on a personal health issue and had been getting acupuncture at a different center in the SF Bay Area with a similar sliding scale fee system several times a month. I moved to Monterey and needed to continue my sessions, so looked up several local acupuncturists and gave them a try. They were all very expensive, and did not have half of the personal touch that I received at MCA. The initial consultation at MCA was thorough and informative, and I came out of my first session feeling great and hopeful. I finally found the right acupuncturist in Monterey, and can continue regular visits because their sliding scale fee system is affordable. Thank you MCA!
