Otter Bay Wetsuits

We went there to get some info for a wet suit. Cricket was informative and very professional. The address is 201 Hoffman Avenue, she moved into a grey building.
We heard a lot of good things about the business. It is a small office crammed
with suits and stuff. She makes custom wet suits. She didn’t put any pressure on us to buy and was very accommodating. Cricket got our measurements and we will pick them up in about 3 to 4 weeks. We spent a lot but it’s our last suit and it will fit like a glove. Will let you know how it turns out when we get it.

I have bought three wetsuits for diving from Otter Bay and the fit is perfect and the construction and materials is top rate and the price is about the same as for a poorly fitting suit off the rack at a dive shop. With the tighter fit and the use of softer neoprene the end result is less water exchange and a lot more bottom time with their suits. They also do make to fit hoods which I have used with my drysuit, as with a jacket it is much better to have the hood and jacket all in one piece to keep water out.
Finding it nearly impossible to find wetsuits made in the USA and with the ones I have tried that are made in Cambodia or Thailand the chest size is fine for one of their people but not large enough for most people of European backgrounds, either in height from the crotch to the shoulder or in the chest dimensions. If the suit has to stretch to much it adds to extra work while wearing it that wastes energy. If you buy an oversize suit it will do a poor job of keeping you warm.

Just walking into the shop is a trip…
