Stumbled upon this little gem walking home from lunch. They offer a $ 5 tasting which is pretty awesome. The bottles range in the mid $ 20s and case specials were low to mid 100’s. The wines were pretty decent. The guy pouring was super knowledgeable and friendly. Apparently, this is a venue for small concerts that seat about 30 people. The room is studio sized and has a very worn feel that comes off charming. I could see coming back here and enjoying a glass or two of the Tinto Cao.

We had the MOST wonderful time here for a tasting. Got a great bottle of red. This is definitely a wonderful hidden treat in Monterey. Awesome tips and ideas for the rest of our weekend since we were visiting the area.

Pierce Ranch tasting room is quaint and hidden — the perfect reprieve from the madness of Cannery Row tourism. On top of that, you find knowledgeable pourers serving delicious, underpriced, quality wine. Highlights: Petit Verdot, Touriga, and pretty much any of the other Spanish/Portuguese varietals they specialize in. Don’t miss this.

Cute location — cozy little house right in downtown. DELICIOUS wines for stellar prices. We didn’t think we’d get any here, but couldn’t resist leaving with a couple of bottles. Don’t miss.

Keith was very informative and pleasant to talk to. The tasting room was in a converted 100 yr old house and felt very cozy. The variety of wines were grand but their red blend, GSMC, was delish.

I love wine and am very picky. I absolutely love the wine at Pierce Vineyards. Full of fruit flavors among the whites and buttery reds! Don’t miss out if you are in Monterey !

Popped in here and thought it was a great find, been here to Monterey several times but never really found this place, glad we did. Nice meeting the actual owner when you walk into the place(Paul) who’s of course Betsy knowledgable and accommodating. We were able to use a Unilocal coupon which gave us 50% off the tasting so that’s cool too, the wines were good too of course ! Highly recommended great location too

Spanish and Portuguese varietals. Friendly staff. Off cannery row and was quiet. Great wine and definitely need to come back

Great little tasting room serving 100% estate grown wines. The wines are not traditional for the central coast, but very well executed and a great value. Great place for an interesting and affordable glass of wine in cannery row.

Popped in here while in town for a bachelorette party weekend. The bride-to-be suggested it and I’m the type of friend to give the bride-to-be what she wants.(I also really enjoy wine tasting, so that helps.) This is a cute little house, just steps from Cannery Row. We started inside for the tasting, a great deal at $ 5 for five pours, and then moved to the backyard to sit and chat with glasses of wine. The staff were friendly, they have a nice little bathroom, and the wines are quite tasty.

Great service, the girl who helped us was so sweet. The wines are more on the dry side and I like more sweet so not wine for me but it’s 5 wine tastings for $ 5 which is a great price! Cute little house!

Cute winery not far off cannery row. Wonderful chill vibe with wonderful and friendly staff. To taste the 5 wines is only $ 5 so you can’t really beat that. Definitely worth stopping by and checking out.

Good tasting wine. Got a bottle of the Red. Easy in and out. If your downtown you should stop in. You can buy wine by the glass. I think this place would be great latter in the day so you could talk to the locals.

As I walked around the area exploring, I stumbled upon Pierce Ranch Vineyards’ sidewalk sign. What first caught my eye was the $ 5 tasting fee that would be waived with purchase. The second thing that caught my eye was the cute and inviting house. I made note of it and promised myself to return. We visited the next day. We were greeted by two friendly staff. Most of the barstools were taken and coincidentally there were two empty seats. I wish I caught her name… she walked us through the tasting menu. They were all quite tasty and the one that stood out for us was the 2013GSMC. We are a big fan of medium to full bodied red wines. This blend was on the lighter side and we loved it. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a bottle or two. :) Pierce Ranch Vineyards was such a lovely experience. We plan to return in the future for the delicious wine and to check out their back patio area(which was reserved for a private event).

This small intimate wine tasting room is located in the heart of Cannery Row. This place is really much more than a wine tasting room. Tucked into an historic house in the less touristy north end of Cannery Row there is plenty of metered parking or one block up, free 90 minute parking. This place is run more like a neighborhood pub in that there are always locals and some fantastic entertainment. Please get on their mailing list for upcoming events. They have a nice garden which is great to sit in on a sunny day and a front porch to drink the Albarino which is my favorite. They open at noon and I highly recommend you give yourself an afternoon exploring the amazing Cannery Row Antique Mall next door and relax after with their wonderful wines. You can also join their wine club and get the tastings for free– great for locals.

Great little tasting room. We liked it better than the couple on Cannery Row and the wines were really good.

We visited two tasting rooms while in Monterey, and this one far surpassed the first. For just $ 5(which is waived if you make a purchase), you get to sample several wines(I can’t remember if it was four or five). One of my traveling companions was not a fan of red wines, and the very helpful woman offered to substitute an extra white. It was so nice of her! She also recommended an amazing Italian restaurant(il vecchio). I found this place to be very inviting and less pretentious than the first tasting room we visited. They also offer water and crackers with your tasting. Prices on bottles were very reasonable.

Located just off Cannery Row, but far enough from the tourist laden areas, Pierce Ranch is a must, no doubt about it, not even a question. A few years back, I had the pleasure of trying their wines at a trade event in San Francisco and ever since, have had them on my list of wineries to visit during our tour of the Monterey AVA. Specializing in Spanish and Portuguese grape varieties, Pierce Ranch stands out with their care and concern regarding the styles of their wines. During a quiet Tuesday, the tasting room was quaint and peaceful which allowed for some lively and friendly discussion with the helpful employees. Step outside your safety net — if there ever was a winery for people to discover, explore, and enjoy something outside the box, then this one is it. Standouts: Albarino and the Antonio Iberico, but the entire run was top notch.

Got a group on for a tasting for two. I did not go in with high hopes considering we were using a group on, but I was pleasantly surprised the wine was actually pretty good. The group on was great to, we got two tastings and even a bottle of wine to take home. I believe we even purchased an additional bottle which we got 15% off on because we had bought the group on. Definitely a place we would go by again.
