Segovia’s

Disappointed. Been coming here for years and it has definitely changed. Not to mention more expensive for us industry people. I’d rather pay for an über to Alfredo’s than pay $ 7.00 for well vodka. Sad :(

Great name. Love they have albums of maestro Andres Segovia. Wish the bartenders paid attention to thier customers. He was too busy texting than checking if customers want a drink. It was a shift change so the older gentleman was way more attentive. The other bartender didn’t seem to care. Hope that improves.

Conservative, racist bartender, if you are not part of the click inside this bar or perhaps a trump supporter or share that mentality this is not the bar for you.
Low end drinks, over priced bottled beer only, oldest bar as they claim in town with no doubt the dirt and filth to show it, health inspection should be done more often in this place.
Over priced ATM, since this is a cash only bar with strange activities and bartenders to prove it.
Very slow, extremely slow service, not worth it in any possible way, Monterey offer lots of great bars and happy service, this is not one of them as others have expressed the same on the reviews below and expressed by tourist.

I was visiting Monterey for a conference and had a night to burn. I Unilocaled this bar called Carbones and called an Über. The driver referred me to this place instead. I’m glad he did. The locals were friendly and we had a few laughs over double whiskeys. The bartender Dave is the man. He kept us entertained with good stories and his 90s playlist. I couldn’t have asked for more fun on a Tues night!

Been coming here for years. I always bring friends, groups etc. I visit at least 6 times a year. Staff, owner and clientele are my kinda thing. Great mix of crowd, but you can bet, there’ll be some punk rawk goin’. Ok I’m biased.

I love this place! First of all their drinks are cheap!!! Not to mention strong!!! They have a covered smoking area out back with seats and they have darts!!! It’s not a turn up spot but it’s a great place to go and hang out with a few friends! The ultimate dive bar!!!

Wendy was great! This was our first time here and service was phenomenal. Definitely recommend it. She made us feel very welcome.

This place is a little dive bar great for a cheap drink and great if your in a hurry. Went in here on Friday night just as last call was being done. It was only 1:20 am but I wasn’t concerned as my friend and I had only 10 minutes before our ride arrived to pick us up from a very long night at work. The bartender didn’t even say hello just barked «it’s last call»! We told him we just wanted a beer and a shot he again barked «no beer! Shots only!» I assured him if he gave us a bet we would be gone in minutes. He repeats «no beer! Just shots! «We left and so long as Mr. BAD attitude works there, we won’t likely be back.

I have always been fond of Segovias. The new male bartender is very professional. It’s refreshing. Lexi was another great addition to the staff. These two definitely know a thing or two about customer service.

Segovia’s is the perfect dive bar! No windows, no draft beer, no gimmicks and strong drinks are all that’s needed. Bonus stars for the bullfighting themed mural and stained glass displays

A cheap dive bar. good pours for a fair price and the crowd that goes with it. Went on a Sunday night on the early side, some fools were already past their prime. Saw lots of single ladies there…

Wow! Absolutely love this place!!! So clean and quaint and the very best thing about it is our new friend, Lexi. We come to PG for vacation every year at this time and never knew this was here. This is now our hangout. Locals are great and again, Lexi is fabulous.

A dive bar at it’s finest. No windows, no credit cards, and no doors (just kidding). It has a jukebox, cheap drinks, a fireplace, and an indoor/​outdoor smoking area.
It’s basically perfect to get away from the tourists and the hoity-​toit of the town!

Very hole in the wall kind of place. Drinks are cheap if that’s what you’re looking for… but if you are not in their hipster/​nerdy kind of group and you’re more of a fashionable kind of individual… you won’t find too much kindness from the bartenders and regulars here

I really enjoy coming to Segovia’s because it’s a nice change of pace from the typical bar scene in and around Monterey. The bartenders are awesome, especially Sharon. It’s definitely more a dive bar than anything else, but I like that scene, and if you do too, this is the place to go. Just don’t come here expecting to order some fancy shmancy cocktail; the drinks are very standard, but I don’t mind that at all.
Also, a big note here: CASH ONLY. Be prepared for that.

This place is a nice dive bar. We stumbled upon it one night out and was skeptical about it at first. It’s small but has bar seating, booths and a little spot by the indoor fireplace. There’s also a smoking patio out back. Drinks are suuuupperrrr cheap here and I can see it become my watering hole if I needed one. The bartender was nice. The locals that came there though weren’t so friendly looking. It’s ok though, my friends and I enjoyed our time nonetheless.

Out of towners, rejoice! Another great Monterey bar that isn’t a tourist trap, isn’t overcrowded and doesn’t kill your wallet. After our first week of visiting, the man and I needed to do some laundry to prevent our lovely hotel room from smelling like an old gym bag. Following a quick stop to load the machine at the laundromat across the street, we swept into Segovia’s ready to get our weekend drink on.
The bar was not crowded but the bar seats were all full and it appeared to me that everyone was a local. Despite being «outsiders», everyone was super friendly. Before we knew it, we had drinks in hand from the friendly bartender and conversation was flowing about everything from the history of the bar to the upcoming AT&T Pebble Beach tournament. The hour flew by and we would have loved to stay for more but, alas, laundry beckoned. Until next time, Segovia’s!

Dive bars. They need to be dark, have character (s), be reasonably priced, and scratch that itch I have only a dive bar can reach.
I’ve never had bad service, the drinks are less costly than anywhere else nearby, and I can stagger home from the entrance in what could be a straight line, but rarely is.
