The Body Shop

The first time I shopped here I met Haleigh. Haleigh was absolutely awesome. My friend and I took forever deciding what items to buy as part of the buy three get three free deal, and she was so patient with us. She was super knowledgeable about the products, and really helped us decide on the ones that were best for both of us. Her warm and helpful personality really made an impression on me, and I will definitely be coming back to shop here because of her.

I browsed in this store for just a few minutes and I had to write this review not about the products (I always buy their extra-​soft bath puffs here!) but because the young woman working here was so gracious to a customer who came in with his son. They were looking for some skin products for the man’s teenage daughter who had some blemishes, and through the conversation, revealed that her mom had passed away and he was trying to do the things that his wife would have done for her daughter. It was a brief but emotional exchange and the salesgirl was gracious and kind and guided them to several product lines and offered some samples and encouraged them to return when the daughter found what she like best. It’s rare to find people who genuinely care, and when a retail operation is about more than a commodity. This Body Shop and its staff are extra-​special and deserve some praise (And your business!)

This store has all kinds of beauty products from body butters to makeup to facial products. This is one of my favorite brands and I’ve been to a lot of their stores. This one is Monterey seems like a vintage Body Shop but still had all of my favorite products. Drops of Youth is my all time fave product and I would recommend it to anyone!

Busy during Christmastime, the service showed this.
I walked in, picked out my item and patiently waited for quite a bit longer than having two cashiers should have allowed for. When I asked for a box, they paused then said they don’t carry boxes.
I tend to like The Body Shop for their selection of fairly well priced lotions and scrubbies, but I’d also prefer if they had Body Shop gift boxes, even for sale.
Ah well. No box for you mom.

I have come across some arrogant rude staff members, but at the body shop today the girl there took the award for worst customer service ever. I signed up on Unilocal specifically to voice my opinion on the service there today. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

GREAT place to shop. The staff is wonderful, esp the shop manager. I believe her name is Crystal. Very helpful, goes up & beyond her duties to give you an excellent shopping experience. She did my makeup & I LOVED the way it looked when she was all done with it. I would pay her the next time I need my makeup done for an occassion. My fave scent is satsuma, along with a couple others. Check this place out, you definatly get your moneys worth.

Since I’m home for the summer and not in SJ, I can’t just hop over to a mall and pick up body butters :(
I know I can order online, but I was in the mood for some new scents today and this was the nearest shop. It’s pretty small compared to most shops I’ve been in, but its really organized and simple. It looks like everything is organized by color. Things in here are easy to find and there are plenty of testers.
The Body Shop is probably the best all around for body butters and scrubs, they do their jobs well. If you’re a frequent shopper like me, I suggest getting the «love your body card». It will pay for itself and you’ll love the 10% discounts and free gifts!
