Oh yum. What a selection. Friendly folks too. We go here often. Wine tastings on Thursday and great sandwiches. Headed there today for their breakfast sandwich. The atmosphere is very casual and they have outside seating. Very close to Fishermans Wharf and commercial wharf. Makes for a good walk around outing.

There is no getting around the fact that the wharf old or new section is a tourist trap. This however is as damn close to getting away from all the«trappings». I honestly felt that number of places close by were disappointing and overrated but not this place. They offered an excellent selection of breakfast or brunch items. I came here at 10 am and they were happy to serve me the lunch items. The only breakfast item we had was the waffles with strawberries. The waffle was cooked decently but lacked any real crisp outside as well as a lack of milky buttery taste inside. All the sandwiches we tried however were outstanding from the cuban, turkey pesto and last but definitely not least is the chicken club. Thick cuts of chicken breast, perfectly cooked but still moist with a crunch from bacon and it ends with a savory avocado slice– as good as it gets Coming from NE, I was not too sure about the NE clam chowder but it was excellent with chunks of fresh cut potatoes(but not mushy which is key), with slices of clam and the soup was not too heavy. This was close to perfect, I just wish they added a hint of celery for the tangy aspect. Creamy tomato was good too albeit slightly too heavy Lastly groceries here were actually well priced and the items with of great quality.

Unexpected gourmet foodie marketplace, gift shop, deli and wine bar in the middle of a big parking lot(lots of parking!) near the water. Delicious prepared foods, incredibly friendly staff, and gorgeous mini«farmers market» fresh produce display from the owners’ farm. I wish the farm was organic, but I have to admit the Marketplace was a welcome diamond in the rough on an early morning weekday when I needed some tasty food… stat!

Really love this place a lot. I was tempted to only give 4 stars because of one really bad experience but I’m not going to. There was only one time we ate there and it took them over an hour on a very hot sunny day to get us our 3 Cuban sandwiches. They gave us some cookies to snack on but it was still a bummer. We weren’t refunded anything. We took my dad there because we were so excited to have him try there amazing Cuban sandwich but it took over an hour. But I will still give it 5 stars. The Cubans are amazing. Obviously if I waited that long lol.

I love stopping into the marketplace on morning walks for a coffee or tea. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of people grabbing a nice breakfast of eggs and or pastries too! My husband and I have stopped by in the evenings too for oysters and a glass of wine. The produce is fabulous! Easy parking makes this a go to spot to stop for dinner fixings and pre made deliciousness when in a hurry. I hear we can reserve the space at night too! Something for everyone here at the Marketplace!

I love how everything is fresh, the view and that they mix things up at times. Also you can resist taste it Thursday!

Wonderful spot to grab a cup of coffee and watch the world pass you by on Saturday morning. Their lattes are delicious, and beautifully made by their baristas. New salad bar is great! A nice quick spot to grab lunch during the week if you close by. Grad a salad and enjoy he sunshine.

I’m a fan of their wine bar, unique gift selection for your favorite foodie(or yourself), small but great cheese selection and I love that I can come here to get a nice cold bottle of white wine. The new salad bar is an awesome addition! I grabbed a salad(asked them to mix a couple dressing for me and they happily obliged) and a bottle of wine and shared it with a friend at one of the indoor tables. Great place to grab a bite to eat or a glass of wine!

I just got back from having a light lunch here with some friends. The deli food is fair. Not a lot of choices but what is there is decent. No raves. The set up is confusing for queing and paying. And now they have these teeny weeny electronic payment screens that are just about impossible to read/figure out. I would like to come here more often, but don’t feel compeled because it is — Meh. This being a business that won out over another very popular casual restaurant with very good food — I’m hoping they step up their game — foodwise and the layout of the place for ordering and paying for food. It looks like this business wants to be a wine shop while serving food in the meantime.

My husband and I spent the day here exploring the shops and looking out over the deck at the ocean. People were friendly. Shops are nice and clean. The aquarium was forty per person. Beautiful. Parking was fairly simple to find the day we went. We chose two hour meter instead of parking garage flat rate fee. Up the road just a bit is beachfront and we just took our time driving to each beachside location taking pictures.

So this is a must to visit if you are in the area. The salad bar was so great but the entire atmosphere and the service and the family owned feel was wonderful. I was encouraging them to open one in Atlanta as we need more unique stores like this. Thank you for a wonderful experience

Stopped by this place on the way back to the car, and glad I did. All of the ingredients were extremely fresh, and if I lived in the area, I would aim to do my groceries here every once in a while. Equipped with a place to make your own food as well as a juice bar, if I remember correctly, it really is a one stop, healthy shop for anyone interested. I ended up buying a couple of fresh oysters to eat, and the butcher was kind enough to clean and crack them open as well as give me a lemon wedge. I’m only giving 4 stars because the prices were accordingly pretty steep.

Cute place,…great coffee. I hope they start using some of that raw milk to make lattes. Great outdoor seating and the crew is incredibly helpful and friendly. The only down side was the price on somethings. I bought a bottled Kombucha for 4.25. This seemed crazy to me. But truly, if that is the only complaint I have… it would never stop me from going back.

Love it! Perfect location for a relaxed lunch. We were in town for a high school sailing regatta last year and discovered The Wharf Marketplace. We were looking forward to returning this year and they did not disappoint! The sailors came over for a healthy to-go lunch while we(the adults) could enjoy yummy sandwiches or salads while sitting at tables or in Adirondack chairs out front people watching. They also offer wine and beer as well as a variety of beautiful produce. Prices are very reasonable for Monterey. The staff was wonderful and came out to chat with the diners. If you are lucky enough to be there when they offer bbq out front, try it! We have had salmon tacos and oysters, both of which were amazing. Their breakfast menu looked just as good but we never got to try it. Maybe next time as we will be back. I just wish we lived closer.

Its a BLT… can it really stand apart from other Bacon, lettuce, and tomato, you bet. It is my go to sandwich to get a ‘taste’ of what is going on. Let me tell you… fresh…local…and delicious. You put simplicity together with fresh ingredients and a passion to please your Customer, The Wharf Market Place has it going on. Don’t get me started about the kick backed atmosphere and sweet location. You need to check this place out… the layers here continued to be peeled back… enjoy

SUPER delicious. Stumbled upon this place just a few steps from the hoards of clam chowder peddlers at the wharf. There a lots of unique local and/or organic products to choose from along with a food counter where you can order breakfast, sandwiches, coffee, etc. We were there for lunch so we chose the turkey and pesto panini with the vegetable and short rib soup. Both were full of flavor(soup had A TON of short rib meat). Also had a good cappuccino. Back had dozens of comfortable loungy chairs, a few tables and a long wood community table. Plenty of space to sit in the shade and look out at the wharf. Highly recommend checking this place out. Good stuff!

So happy that this spot is up and running, seems like they are constantly making improvements! Today I had the Salad Bar for the first time. Pretty awesome! For $ 9 you get your choice of lettuces, 5 toppings, and dressing and then they toss it for you. Mine was Romaine and spring mix with tri tip, blue cheese, artichoke hearts, cucumbers, and red onions. Everything was fresh and delicious!

It was a surprise for us. The place is nice, the service is very good, the restroom is clean and the food is incredible. There are different options like Organic Raw Kombucha. Pet Friendly. Latte: good. Organic Raw Kombucha: delicious and not sweet. Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice: like a treasure here in U.S. Grilled Portobella: fantastic.

Seriously, nicest people work here! It goes with whole bounty of county image nicely! I’m driving from downtown at lunch time always, but I don’t mind because of ocean breeze, fresh produce, and great coffee. Today, I claimed my free coffee with old punch card, a nice young man helped me transferring into no paper system and made sure I don’t lose out although the system changes. How nice is that?
