This restaurant is hit or miss, but definitely the oldest and most notable place to eat in Montesano. They’re open later than most places in town and offer quick service. Traditional breakfast dishes are good, the fish and chips was just okay the one time I tried it.

The service is slow, order taken in 15 minutes and then you will get your food 25 – 30 minutes later. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla. Then the waitress gave us the bill so we can pay it as they are changing shifts. Go somewhere else. Sorry, an establishment that has lost it’s credibility sense of service and to think they have been in business a long time.

Passing through with my my goofy friends; Kimi, Lorie, and Kelsie. I had a ½ lb. cheeseburger on a ciabatta. Burger was excellent, fries and tartar were on point. Service was awesome and drinks were great!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been at the Bee. Breakfast has always been my favorite dine-out meal. The Bee Hive’s breakfast has improved since my last review(2011). A large portion of hashed browns, eggs fried in butter. Yum! The only negative is the coffee is a bit weak for my taste.

My family and I stopped in here after a long road trip back to Seattle from Portland. It’s a cozy, classic 1950’s diner with a warm, friendly staff and delicious food. The servings are generous, hot and fresh. They make the best Patty Melt and Coconut Cream Pie! I very highly recommend a stop in this cute little place.

Cute small town restaurant — excellent food and service. Try the Crab Benedict and wild blackberry pie alamode, they are both awesome. You won’t find a better place for good food that tastes homemade.

I would unhesitatingly recommend the Bee Hive for breakfast! We enjoyed our breakfasts and returned the following morning. The place is locally popular and our party of four waited for a table. Our orders were taken as promptly as activity permitted, and our breakfast choices were well prepared. Quantity and quality was entirely praiseworthy. I was advised by locals that dinners were not as great as the breakfast/lunch options. This restaurant has been a feature of the community for many years, though the ownership has changed a time or two in the past few decades. We did not eat dinner here, so I can’t confirm or deny, but I will say our breakfasts were good choices, and we enjoyed good service, pleasant conversation with those around us. It’s not at all difficult to find, and well worth your consideration.

My boyfriend and I found this place because it was advertised as a great local seafood spot, but we left utterly disappointed. First, we waited an exceptionally long time for the waitress to take our order. Then the waitress forgot to put in one of our entrees. Only after waiting 25 minutes and asking the waitress about our food did she realize her mistake. As a result, my boyfriends crab grilled cheese sat under the heat lamps for over 25 minutes making what could have been a delicious crispy grilled cheese taste like stale bread and mush. We did finally get my entrée after 40mins. I could hardly believe how incompetent the wait staff was despite seeming so experienced. In the end, my meal was decent but definitely not worth the wait. You are welcome to judge for yourself, but we will not be back!

Best food we have had in a small town for some time! Great price, great portion. We came in as a group of 10 and the place was pretty busy already. But Debbie was great at putting some tables together promptly for us all, and get us going. Thanks for the great visit Debbie!

Traditional American food and friendly service. Stopped off for lunch on a cold foggy afternoon, had a nice chat with the waitress, food was good and satisfying. Great to go into a restaurant that doesn’t have a theme or décor, it’s just what it has been becoming for the past 60 years, and reflects the community.

Stopped in one the first leg of a long driving vacation, and was very satisfied. The excellent omelet, and coffee were a great way to start a trip.

An all American diner along a Main Street is a small town. One cannot ask for anything more authentic. The service is fast and friendly and I just had the biscuits and gravy and I think they are the best I’ve ever had and I am from the south. They incorporate some seafood in their breakfast menu so that’s awesome since it is on the Pacific Northwest. Come and try it you will not leave disappointed.

Waited for 30 minutes, never got any help. Walked up and left. Place was packed and only 2 waitresses. Received menus but never received anything else or even water. Bad service, buyers beware.

I’ll start by saying that this is really a 3.5 in my book but that’s not an option… We had a party of 8 and it’s self seating but we found a 6-top and added a couple of chairs to make it work. Our waitress was ok but she did mention she was working an extra section so that probably explains the wait… for everything. We waited for her, for drinks, for food, etc. I knew this going in based on other reviews so I can’t say I was surprised but they were also pretty full. I had steak and eggs and everything came out cooked as ordered and was tasty. We did have one person get the wrong dish, another the wrong eggs, and one side of burnt toast. They offered to fix the plate and eggs but we didn’t want to wait so we made it work. The skillets were pretty dry so it was ketchup to the rescue. Another table had french toast and a cinnamon roll that looked good. I can say that the options in that area are few and far between so I wouldn’t be opposed to going back… if I was ever in that area again. I would just make sure the party knew what to avoid and to expect a slow relaxed experience.

One of my absolute favorite diners. Awesome waitress and awesome prime rib dinner. I go out of my way to stop through Montesano to eat here.

Love the club sandwich. Ask for sour dough bread. Fries are OK, not the best. Think they may be frozen. Service is great. Able to either be left alone to eat in peace or sit at the counter and find great conversation.

I just had the worst open face turkey sandwich on planet earth. The gravy, a shocking yellow, matched the Formica counter, and was reminiscent of diaper gravy, not a meat gravy. I can’t express how horrible it was in every way. Don’t even think about ordering it. To top it off, I asked the waitress for my side of chowder to be a bowl instead. She failed to tell me the open face doesn’t come with a side, so I paid $ 5 for a chowder which tasted like it came off the Cisco truck. I’m guessing they actually make it at the Hive, but it was overly salted and was lacking clams and clam essence. I used to eat here years ago, but this experience was the worst diner meal I have had in a century. Good bye, Bee Hive.
