I am greatly disturbed by the negative comments about the«new owner» and missing items that had been consigned. I know the truth and want to set the record straight. The previous owner decided to sell the business. She represented to the prospective buyer that all items in inventory with expired consignment contracts were the property of the store and were for sale as a part of the total sale of the store. The consignment contracts substantiated that, as it is very clear that the consignment period is for 90 days only, and specifically states that items left beyond 90 days become the property of the store. Many items were removed from the store prior to the changeover and, for the most part, were beyond the contract period. No verbal agreements regarding contract extensions were disclosed to the buyer. He paid the previous owner for the expired items and the victims should properly direct their anger toward her. I have personally met«Stephanie» because I volunteer in the store a few days per month. «Stephanie» has been paid for the items that were sold and the staff will continue to try to locate her missing items, many of which were out of contract. I understand that people make comments such as these when they are angry, but I also think it’s unfortunate that there’s no way to retract them when the problem has been, or is being, resolved. Other negative comments on this site relate to the previous owner. The store changed ownership on 8−1−12.
