I’ve been to Jim n Nicks plenty of times and it’s always been amazing. I love the brisket and the bread. Service is awesome and the food doesn’t take long. I highly recommend Jim n Nicks.

Came for lunch. Got here at 1205 «Lunch Time» my Wife and I ordered salads so we could get in and out quick. Both salad selections were on the«Lunch» menu. Received our salads at 1233. Not a good choice for quick lunch… The place wasn’t even busy.

The plates are piled high with fresh, well prepared food. Our service was prompt. I enjoyed the my Southern Chicken salad and my table mates enjoyed Greek salad, pulled pork and a quarter chicken and nobody left hungry.

The ribs are average. The brisket was very good as well as the collards. I could just eat the brisket and collards and leave the rest. I also had the hot sausage and Mac and cheese.

Location is clean and spacious — a good place to stop for hungry travelers and considering your other options off the highway probably the best sit down experience regardless of overpriced for chain quality. Cheese biscuits are amazing and sausage has good flavor(although you can tell its commercialized). Ham and brisket are on the fatty side and fries are a little salty. Sauces are good but depends on your preference for a more vinegar based bbq. Loved the attention to detail in hand cut fruit and service is not great, but tries. If you can’t go local and don’t want fast food then this is a good option.

Though our server was nice, the food here is absolutely terrible. I had to explain how to build a salad(no, a healthy salad does not have heavy cream dressing, bacon, croutons, or cheese). The nachos were the second worst I’ve had, save your money there. The one positive was the turkey sandwich with white barbeque sauce. That sauce was great and the turkey was juicy though slightly too salty. Maybe it’s the New Yorker in me, but I prefer something a bit healthier.

It is a chain restaurant. And it tastes like a chain restaurant. It is not bad but won’t compete with your home town bbq place. Staff was great and prompt. Worth trying for sure. Ask for some spicy sauce too flavor things up!

It’s been a while since we have been back but the fiie quality has impoved dramatically. The flavors were unexpected and very surprising. I have to say it is definately the best in Montgomery by far.

I should have known that a chain restaurant wasn’t going to have the best BBQ. I know plenty of people that like this place. I’m just not one of them. The BBQ lacked a hickory taste. And their collard greens were just okay. I barely ate my food. If you’re into BBQ chain places… then I would rather go to Sonny’s. Sorry

Best BBq in Montgomery. Food and service were excellent! Devil eggs are great for appetizer. Pulled pork and onion rings are the bomb.

There definitely weren’t many BBQ places around here, but this one was on point. Yes it is a franchise, but that doesn’t detract from the delectability factor. Every bit of EVERYTHING I put in my mouth here was awesome! As a matter of fact, whenever I eat BBQ now, I compare it against my time here. We went on the 4th of July and ended up watching some fireworks after dinner while still at the table. A great experience! And very well priced. Oh and the mac n cheese and muffins were just… no words… so good. Well looky there, I found words. But that only begins to describe. The Jim N’ Nicks in Atl pales in comparison.

We just visited the Jim and Nicks BBQ in Montgomery, AL. Being from Texas we know Great BBQ! Jim and Nicks meat is cooked to perfection, the potato salad is homemade, and so are the cheese biscuits. The restaurant was clean and do were the bathrooms. Susan was an absolute terrific waitress. We will most definitely tell all our friends and family to be sure and stop by Jim and Nicks if they are in the area.

It had been a long time since we had been here do to being on Hawaii so we wanted to go somewhere where we could have some good ol’ bbq. We were seated and it took a good 5−10mins for our server to come around and ask what we would like to drink. She came back a few mins later with the biscuits you get but still no tea. About 5 mins later she is carrying tea and goes to the table behind us gave them something spoke to them and then brought back the tea she had in her hand. She then asked what we would like to eat. We told her and she went and we thought out in our order. We waited 30 mins and finally I flagged her down and asked when our food would be up because people who had sit down way after us go their food already. She then stated it would be right out. Yeah about 10 mins later. This place even has a drive thru it and it should not take anywhere over 30mins to get food. After she finally brought us our plate the fries were cold and stale. You would think after waiting so long everything would be hot. She had also stated she would bring us more biscuits that of course was after our food came. I asked her what was the reason it took so long and she stated she honestly didn’t know and that she did her part and put in the order and it was up to the back and that they had a new person who put the food up in the window. She said she would send over the manager. He came over said he was sorry for the wait and that it had took so long offered dessert free biscuits for the road and we said no to both he then finally as a last resort offer a discount on our food. That we took. We also got fresh fries that tasted a whole lot better than the ones on our plate. Will we be back probably not. But they did make an effort to justify the problem which I give them credit for.

A can’t beat Taco Tuesday goes down at the BBQ joint #gratituesday The drinks were fairly strong for happy hour prices and the service was excellent. Don’t miss out on the biscuits either!

Thought there would be a to more bbq joints around these parts and this was one of the ones that came up close to my hotel while k was here for business. So i thought I’d give it a shot… wasn’t sure if I was heading to a hole-in-the-wall or a large restaurant. It turned out to be the latter. There were maybe 30 – 40 ppl eating at the time so I figured it was a decently popular place so was pretty easy enough to get a seat for a party of one. They have yeungling! Woohoo! Of course, this is gonna need a little explanation; This is a personal favorite beer of mine… both sentimental and taste wise. Plus you can’t get it out in Cali… it’s really hard. Trust me. But the fact they had this beer here just brought them up a star =) Menu — opted for the pulled pork sammich with two trimmings; the bbq beans and the cole slaw. Biscuits are super fresh, and you know how I know? They came after my food arrived haha. The pulled pork(on wheat) was good… but it was pretty much an open faced sandwich for me cuz the bun was a little too thin and fell apart on me when I cut it in half. But it was good. The bbq beans were decent and the cole slaw was drier than I’m accustomed to but very flavorful. But those biscuits… O…M…G. Excellent. They look like mini muffins and look like the were topped with a little butter but the reason I loved them most of all was cuz they were so fresh out the oven that they were so soft and moist. Man oh man! I’m coming back just for these guys! They serve their own bbq sauces; original and habanero. Both are pretty good and the habanero isn’t that spicy, prob a mild(3 on a 10-scale) if I had to rate it. Service — totally friendly and warm. Made me feel very welcome. Didn’t finish all my biscuits so I asked for a box to take them home and they gave me a fresh batch to add to it! Definitely on my «come back for mo» list!

You have to drive about 7 miles from downtown to het to this place, but it is well worth it. Nice friendly staff, great service, and even better food. I ordered the smoked turkey, with white bbq sauce, fries, mac N cheese and Sweet Tea. I was a little apprehensive about trying the white bbq sauce, but it was pretty darn good. This was a great dining experience. I will definitely eat at this place again.

If you have never seen a yuppy, hipster, BBQ place then come on down. So very disappointed. I had heard great things about this place but apparently I have misguided friends. It would be generous to say the service was average. The food was ok. Nothing fantastic but not bad. The price was much, much more than I would have expected to pay for the amount of food that came out. I won’t be returning but hey, if you want to see the odd combination of hipster and southern, this is the place.

Taste of Atlanta brought me here! The first time I sunk my teeth in those ribs I KNEW I had to visit. Funny how there are plenty in the Atlanta area but I waited until I came to Montgomery to try it out lol. Our server Chandra was the best! She was so sweet and quirky. She went over above and beyond to accommodate us and never complained or showed frustration no matter how busy it was. The food… I literally wanted to unbutton my pants, take off my bra, and lay underneath the table. The chicken tender, pulled pork, ribs, mac and cheese, even the freakin honey mustard was good. And those cheesy muffins I have been scouring the internet for a recipe! The portions are huge, you will have leftovers. I also like that they make cocktails with dark liquor, even the sight of vodka makes me queasy… college in the south will do that to you. Next time I am in Montgomery this will be one of my go to places.

I was pleasantly surprised with Jim N Nicks. Stuck staying in Montgomery on the eve of the Iron Bowl we chose to give Jim N Nick’s a try after trying Dreamland(in Birmingham), Litte Dooey(Starkville), Hook’s(Troy) and Fat Matt’s(Atlanta) in consecutive days. Hence, we were a little burned out on BBQ, but were pleasantly surprised with Jim N Nick’s. I’d seen them all over The South in my travels, but this would be my first experience. We stopped in late(roughly 30 minutes before closing) and had excellent service in the bar area. It was the first time we had their biscuits and they were excellent here. In fact, they are addicting! I ordered the turkey plate(with mash potatoes and gravy and sweet potato casserole and my friend had the fried catfish. The turkey was tasty and juicy and the catfish was fried but no greasy at all. And, all the sides were very, very good. I was pleasantly surprised and plan to keep Jim N Nick’s on my radar every time I travel to the South.
