Jake’s Beach House

Typically, I wouldn’t expect really good pizza from a restaurant that you can access via boat in Indiana, but Jake’s Beach House on Lake Shafer in Monticello is an exception. The reason? They get all of their ingredients from Pizza King.
I ordered a pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms per the recommendation of a Pizza King connoisseur, but the mushrooms were just on his half as I don’t really like fungi on my pizza. The sausage and pepperoni on my half were both very good. The thin crust was good as well, although it was not salted like you will see at some Pizza Kings.
Jake’s Beach House has a lot of other food besides pizza plus a full bar and a famous house drink called The Octane. They have an inside eating area and a large deck overlooking Lake Shafer. I don’t think you would be disappointed by ordering one of their pizzas on the deck on a nice summer day.

I love this place but its impossible to dock your boat and they have no one to help dock your boat so we quit going. But the fish chips are awesome

Love this place!!! Food if good, staff rocks ask for Daniel, maggie, merchant, or Jose they all kick ass! Drinks are good ask for the green dragon with eyes (thx merchant) will be back fo sho!!! Thx Jake’s crew!

Had the jerk chicken sandwich and bloody mary, both were really good.

Tried their Pizza King pizza tonight and it was good! Typical Pizza King pizza, but on the lake! You also need to try their frozen drink — The Octane. Very tasty!

We have a cabin on the lake and we love docking here for a quick drink, lunch, and dinner. The service at times is a little slow, but the view and the food make up for it. We love the fried green beans. We will definitely try the pizza this weekend.
