The good: The mechanic on duty was a super-nice guy. I had done some work on my car and needed an alignment afterwards and Kapito & Sons was the only place open that day. The mechanic let me watch so I learned a little something in the process. The bad: I was definitely overcharged for two used tires but they were the only joint open that day so I had no other choice. One of the two tires was near bald down the middle within a month. The owner is not as nice as the mechanic. We’ll be nice and call him surly. The biggest problem was the alignment I got. They do not have(or at least did not use) a computerized system for doing alignments. They do what I’d call a redneck alignment and just use a tape measure to check the toe and camber. It works in a pinch and it got me back to the city. It isn’t as accurate as a computer and I still have to get a real-deal alignment because the car handles funky in the rain. It’s not worth the $ 65 they charge. For me, I got a lesson on how to eyeball an alignment myself after doing suspension work but, again, I still have to get it re-aligned. Overall: If you need your tires balanced or have to get an oil change, etc, they’re probably just fine. Alignments and other stuff you wouldn’t want to do in your own garage, go elsewhere.
