Scotty’s Corner Cafe

Walked in, tables were dirty. We moved plates off of a booth so we could sit there. Waited 10 min waitress came over, took Coffee order. Droped off cogee, and came back 10 min latter for food order. Took food order without writing it down. Came back with paper because she forgot order. Food came after being there 40 min.
Breakfast was very good, but you need to have a lot of time. Table still had dirty dishes on it an hour later when we left. Other tables same way.

Stopped in the morning for breakfast, we needed to have wifi.
The waitress had the wrong password so we couldn’t stay. We will try again soon.

UPDATE: giving them a 3 ½ star. Returned to this corner café. Owner has painted the inside. Looks better. Still a strong smell of smoke entering building and just a mess of a breezeway. Still very dated on the inside but owner working on improvements. Ordered the country fried steak again. Still good, but not as good as that first time. Scrambled eggs cooked to death. Asked for mashed potatoes and could hear the cook ask the server how to make them. If they weren’t on the menu, they just should have told me and I’d order something else. I heard them read the directions off the box!!! A gluey mess. Skip these and go for the hash browns. I just hope they continue to make improvements and to clean everything. From vents to ketchup bottles. This is a new business and they are slowly making improvements. All their items are very reasonably priced. And it’s a nice change to chain-​type of places.
Stopped in at this corner café after it switched owners. Before I was never really sure there was even a café there. Scotty has repainted the front and added signs. I decided to stop in.
First off, it’s a mom and pop café. Remodeling is definitely needed but the good news is the food is really good. Open for breakfast and lunch, they serve your typical breakfast plates and lunch specials. I tried the country fried steak and it was the best one I’ve ever had. My daughter went with a hamburger and was happy with it. Service was fast and friendly.
We are definitely going back. Just know that when you go, it’s not updated but I’m hoping with more business, he can turn this into a retro diner. That would be so cool.

Walked in to a strong smell of old smoke and grandma’s basement. It said seat yourself. All open tables were dirty even though there were 3 servers working and the place was less than half full. Sat down at a dirty booth waiting and waiting for someone to come clean it and bring menus. A server walks right past us to clean a table behind us and doesn’t acknowledge us at all. Waited another 5 mins before walking out. Never again. Based on the nasty look of the place we probably missed a bullet.
