Dr. Paul is a great vet. He’s kind and you can see he cares. He doesn’t bring the dog up to him, he gets down to the dog. He was great with all our dogs and our cat. He’s our vet for as long as we are in the area.

Adorable vet clinic in the heart of Vermont. I am an out-of-towner and brought my dog in with a limp. The doctor took his time with my pup(and let my other dog come in and hang around) and determined he has a torn ACL(crap). The doctor was also surprisingly great with my other dog, who is afraid of humans, trains, marching bands, seltzer cans, and many other things that don’t pose any real threat to him. He actually got him to take a treat from his hand, which is very rare for someone he’s just met. They also have a hilarious collection of their own dogs who hang out behind the desk(don’t worry, if you have a dog that doesn’t play nicely, there’s a high desk and they can’t get through). I think I saw a doberman, catahoula leaopard dog, some kind of beagle mix, and a poodly thing. Looks like a daycare but nope, it’s just their dogs. The only note I’d make here is that you should not try to go to this vet if driving/weather conditions are bad, as the route there involves quite a few dirt roads(though is very easy to get to using GPS, just some of the roads are not paved).

I love this vet, although difficult to find, a bit remote, the vibe in this office is all animal centered. AS it should be by my mind. Vet Paul greeted my dogs on their terms; Paul sat on the floor when he examined them, my dogs were encouraged to sit or lie down on a mat for this. Paul is obviously an animal lover. I like that Paul seeks to find alternative treatment before going right to expensive medications for example. He seems to look at the whole of the situation, nutrition, environment, emotions, and tries to treat any single issue in that context. His wife Jesse is the office manager and she is kind and competent. I also liked that my bill was quite reasonable.
