This review is WAAAAAYYYY overdue! It seems this Unilocal listing is for the farmers/street market, but Lenny G’s does catering too. Very reasonably priced and exceptional in terms of quality of food, customer service and experience. You’d be a fool to pass on them for your next event! We had Gordon and his crew cater our wedding a couple of years ago after he did a friend’s party. People ALWAYS mention our food when discussing our wedding. I think it might have upstaged us! Lol It was flawless from appetizers to dinner to late night snacks(which were much appreciated considering the open bar). I mean think about it, when was the last time you even remembered wedding food?! Since our wedding, he’s catered a couple of parties for us. The latest was the day before his birthday too! Always professional, positive and gracious. We love Gordon and his crew and look forward to seeing them again soon! Definitely recommend you support small businesses and book him for your next event or check him out at one of the street fairs. And get some red beans and rice. I dream about them they’re that good!

Really good mustard-fried catfish po’ boy, but the skimpyness on the fish makes a «3» seem just about right. I visited their food truck at the Thursday Farmers Market at the L.A. Mall. The combo deal for half a po’ boy, a side, and drink is fair at $ 9. I had the red beans and rice as my side, and it was decent. The catfish was well-prepared, but the way it’s laid into the sandwich very loosely makes eating on the go a challenge. I was sitting in the nearby folding chairs and eating on my lap, and a significant bite of fish got away from me because of how sort of loosely it’s thrown in. This is relevant because they don’t give you much fish to start, and I do believe a place needs to consider its surroundings when preparing food. As it was, I entertained the thought of eating that fallen bite for about two seconds before coming to my senses and remembering that this particular stretch of pavement is not one off of which you want to be eating. So I’d definitely eat here again, but I’ll probably get the full sandwich next time for half a sandwich’s amount of fish.

Love their food! Seems like I can’t get enough of the Shrimp Po’ Boys. The crew running the place are awesome and friendly and make you feel like part of the family. I always look forward to eating lunch here.

The fried shrimp poboy is the closest thing to New Orleans I’ve tasted in LA. Delicious!

I had jury duty in downtown and saw the farmers market and thought I’d give Lenny G’s a shot. Bad move! The four man team was completely disorganized. The wait was over 30 minutes and you would have thought they were municipal workers. Zero sense of urgency. To add insult to injury they ran out of bread for the po boys, and the sampler they substituted was bland and flavorless. Do not eat here!

mmm. I’ve never been to their physical location — but on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I get a Taste of Louisiana, when they’re at my work location for Farmer’s Market. On Tuesdays, they’re at the Grand Park Farmers Market, and on Thursday, it’s the«Little Tokyo» farmers market(which it should really be the City Hall Farmer’s Market. Anyways, this is a review for Lenny G’s. If in the mood, I’m usually getting a po’boy with shrimp and catfish with everything on it and spicy mayo. Extra hot sauce on the side. When did they start charging extra $ 1 for the mix? It’s usually $ 9 for a po’boy without any sides or drinks. $ 1 extra for drinks. $ 3 extra for a side and drink. That’s only if they have sides left. Sides — Hush Puppies, Jambalaya. and something else.(if you’re having the Jambalaya, you can add some fried shrimp or catfish). I’ve tried the Jambalaya — and it’s meh. It’s too ricey, and not saucey enough. Also, I think it’s lacking in flavor, I had to add some extra hot sauce and some salt and pepper. But it could just be me. They’re friendly and efficient, not too long of a wait.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are a little brighter when I manage to escape my office early enough to get food here at the two civic center farmers markets. They run out of everything early so sometimes by 12:30 they are already closing up shop. The po’ boys are amazing. My all time favorite is blackened catfish with the spicy mayo and extra hot sauce — heaven! The fried catfish is my second choice, then the shrimp options– good but not quite my favorite. The jambalaya is tasty, their style is different then others I have had before, nice because it isn’t swimming in tomato. I have much more of the menu to work through but I have a hard time straying from my already established favorites. Prices seem fair for the amount you get and service is awesome. Really a nice group of people who work here. Only downfall, stop running out of my catfish!(you can call ahead and give them your order, I just never remember) Highly recommend.

We love Lenny g’s it is a true taste of New Orleans. We have lunch there evey Sunday since they opened. I can’t say what is my favorite dish since I love them all. Muffuleta, blacked chicken, the different basket’s oh my they are all so good. I helps that Gordon, the owner, Eric, Renee and mom Merry are the nicest people you could ever meet.
