Have been a regular customer of the Mazar’s, both here and at the Bridgeview in Nicholson PA. The Greenview was much better a year or two ago, when Jimmy was on the premises doing the cooking. He has since gotten involved in additional ventures and the quality of the food at the Greenview has suffered. Tried the buffet a month ago and was disappointed. Poor selection of food, barely warm. And who ever saw French Fries on a buffet? Went Monday night for dinner off the menu. It was adequate but, again, not as good as it was a year or two ago. The Smothered steak was okay, but way overpriced. The offering of the salad bar in place of the two sides was confusing. I opted for the salad bar, and had to get one side as an extra. I would have preferred that they offer the sides and added the salad bar as an extra, instead of a substitution. Was told the restaurant was closing for a couple weeks renovation and to revamp the menu. The best revamping could be to have Jimmy back doing the cooking, or at least to be there to oversee things.

Had a unpleasant experience at Mazaars tonight, we ordered the Sunday dinner buffet for 17.95 and the food was disappointing. The turkey, ham and prime rib were cold. The board on the wall listed items on buffet such as chicken parmesan, when I couldn’t find any I asked the waitress about it and she said oh that was last weekends buffet and never bothered to update it. The rest of the selections weren’t great prob the best thing at the buffet was the broccoli and cauliflower. We went to Mazaars a lot when they first opened up but haven’t been for awhile, not it sure we will be back. Also we sat by the buffet and there wasn’t conditioning.

I’m shocked by some of the reviews… clearly they aren’t used to North East Pennsylvania dining. This place was clean, the staff was courteous, and the food was decent. If you think this is a dirty restaurant… I challenge you to find one cleaner within the surrounding 4 counties. Be realistic! I had the Garlic Steak Sub. The house garlic spread was amazing! My Mom had a Patty Melt and said it was fine. Cost about $ 26 for the two lunches and drinks. Not the best thing I’ve ever ate, but pretty good considering the area. This is your typical, casual, small town dining experience.

Unexpected! Delicious, homemade fried chicken and mashed potatoes in a homey, unpresuming setting. The green beans in garlic butter sauce was a perfect accompaniment. Everything was fresh. Looking forward to returning to try the buffet.

The inside décor was quaint. The food is not very good, especially for the prices they have. $ 2.00 for a soda in a plastic cup? wtf?! The service was slow but the check sure did come fast – during the middle of the meal. The waitress forgot what was ordered and when the food finally came out it was cold. Never going back again.
