Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and generous portions. Bonus points: the TV was tuned to Jeopardy aka one of the greatest gameshows ever. I didn’t think the food lived up to the Unilocal hype, but – hey – it was cheap and plentiful. I believe that is worthy of four stars.

I had high hopes, given the ratings of this place. First, the service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Now, the food was below average. The chicken plate literally tastes exactly like slightly repurposed store bought rotisserie chicken. The culinary experience was so disappointing. I could do the same thing buy buying a chicken from the deli at Walmart. I wouldn’t go again.

Delicious salsa roja. Excellent chicken. Lots of street parking nearby. Very conveniently located if you are traveling on Highway 550. Not fancy, not expensive. (And just so you know this is not one of those fake reviews, they should turn down the volume on the TV a little — it was soccer in Spanish, which is fine, but not so loud. I bet they would have turned it down if I had asked, but I was too busy eating.)

Saw that this place was 5 star rated on Unilocal,and had to give it a try. Well, they’ve earned it! Delicious, authentic tasting food. Large portions, and extremely affordable. The guy behind the counter (owner?) was very helpful, friendly, and funny. He puts his customers at ease. I am already plotting my next trip back here. This is one of those rare places where EVERYTHING on the menu sounds amazing. And… BONUS…they have deep fried ice cream! Yum.

Stopped by on my way to the Hot Springs in Ridgeway with my friend. She said this is the «go to» place for a delicious roasted whole chicken. The owner chopped the chicken into 8 pieces and we took it to go along with 3 different strengths of salsas. Without question it was the best I have ever had. Don’t miss this place.

Good find — unbelievably nice owner (I think?), very kind. Interior looks pretty divey (think an old-​style fast food place with booths), but the food is solid and definitely homemade. I liked the chicken the best (the pork was a little too fatty for my taste, but I don’t have a high tolerance for fat). Complimentary bottles of water, and the rice and beans were really good. We tried three tacos of each meat they offer, a quarter chicken (which my friend devoured!), and a chicken torta (my favorite). The freezer of authentic mexican popsicles was pretty cool…

Wow. What a find. Two words. Chicken. Burrito. You have to get one. They have a plethora of great sauces and their chips and homemade tortilla are second to NONE. The food was fast, made fresh and very reasonably priced.
Mew were just here for a short time but see us ordering again before we leave… at least once. Very great staff and a bigger place than you imagine.

the place is accross the street from a school so they are not allowed to sell beer. it was not an issue we stayed on water :)

Amazing service, incredible food!!! Amazing chicken dishes. Got the half chicken meal with mixed tortillas and it was off the hook. The salsas on the side were very unique and tasty. The crew is friendly excellent service. Worth more than what you pay for!!!

6 stars! Very friendly staff! A delicious variety of food simple yet optional menu. Each time I pass the Montrose I have to stop. And each time I am amazed. They are extremely affordable. Are you the food is amazing and the taste the food is incredible!

I called in my order based on Unilocal reviews and they said it will be ready in about 10 minutes. The location is non descript and I drove right around it but finally found the door. When I went to the counter to tell them that I had a carry out order he asked me if I called it in and I said yes. He was so nice and gave me a bottle water for my wait. It only took 2 minutes for my food to be ready.
There is seating inside that is just like a fast food joint.
The chicken had delicious flavor, really unique. The rice and beans were really tasty too.

A great find! My order was taken by an extremely friendly man who genuinely cared about our experience. The wait for take-​out was around 15 minutes for the five of us. The food was delicious!
We did encounter a small problem, we ordered several enchiladas to be vegetarian, and confirmed this with the man who took our order, unfortunately we received them with chicken and were unaware until we were too far away. I’m sure this was simply an accident and had we noticed it in store they would’ve taken care of us!
Highly recommend this little place, came out to about $ 40 for the five of us.

Delicious! We stopped here because of all the 5 star reviews and I’m gonna have to add one more. I had the 3 taco plate with rice and beans. I couldn’t make up my mind so I had one beef, one chicken, and one pork. All 3 were perfect! I wish I lived closer so I could eat here all the time.

We started with chips and salsa. The chips came out warm, and salsa was tasty and spicy. My husband had the spicy chicken which was pleasantly spicy. Rice was had a subtle tanginess. I had 3 cheese enchilada which was nicely done too. The waitress was very friendly.
