I went there today with my family, what a mistake. After waiting for a table, it took the waitress 15 minutes to eventually take our order. Then it took another 45 minutes for our order to arrive. When the order did finally arrive, it came in pieces, not all at once. What make this fall down to a 1 star review is the food was cold; it was like it sat on the counter for the 45 minutes waiting to be brought to our table. I won’t make the mistake of going there again.

Standard greasy dinner food, nothing special but for breakfast in the road with few options it sufficed.

Good food, good service. Enormous homemade biscuits and cinnamon rolls. I had the biscuit supreme, and it was delish(could only eat half and I’m a eat all your meal kinda girl). All the portions are huge. Servers and bussers were very attentive and friendly.

My husband and I went in for breakfast at 7:45 this morning. Both of us had the special: eggs, bacon, hash browns, and starving arvins biscuit. Received our breakfast, eggs and hash browns were warm, bacon was good, but the biscuits was cold… Couldn’t get the waitress attention as she was showing pictures of her family(on her cell phone) to hostess. Took the biscuits up to her and told her they were cold. She brought them back and I asked her if the biscuits were microwave. She said yes, as the fresh biscuits were just put in the oven for this morning. I told her we didn’t want it. Waitress came back once to see if my husband needed coffee just one. Please remember there are just a few customers in the restaurant. We were never offered a biscuit from the one that were put in the oven. Waitress did take 10% off the bill. But the service was in my opinion poo. As we are getting ready to leave waitress taking selfie of bronco shirts with other waitresses. WOW what happened to customer service.

Their breakfast’s are huge!!! The bacon avocado omelet(I added tomato) was delicious!!! The cinnamon rolls are huge, but very cakey and dry. My husband said the biscuits, which they are known for, were awesome, but the green chili is quite sour and not to his liking. Overall, I would definitely come back!!!

A visit to family in Montrose would not be complete without a breakfast at Starvin’ Arvins. Even though they are not quite as good as they were a few years back(prices much higher for one thing), they are still well worth the visit. The monster homemade cinnamon rolls and biscuits are, well, beyond good. I know they have many wonderful menu items, but I can not ever seem to order anything but their awesome huevos rancheros. All good. Starvin’ Arvins is a fun family tradition. Hope to be back many more times, whenever out to visit our folks. Be sure to come hungry as a Colorado cowboy. Even then, you’ll likely be asking for a box for some yummy leftovers«to go.»

A good simple breakfast. Prices are reasonable considering the HUGE portion sizes. Good service too, very fast. Probably would have given 4 or 5 stars, but as another reviewer mentioned, the flies are a bit off putting.

Flies, flies and more flies. I have no idea how the food was because the flies beat me to it. I’m completely disgusted…

Bit of a drive from Ridgway, but it was quite tasty! I’m here for the marathon Saturday and made the jaunt over. Had the skillet hobo breakfast.

Breakfast selection is good with choices of omelets, French toast, pancakes etc. bacon was tough but tasty. Sausage patties were dried out and they exchanged it for a slice of bacon. Didn’t care for the bread used for the French toast, it was dry and bland. Eggs were good! Flys shared our meal.

We arrived at the restaurant kind of early on a Saturday and had a few minutes wait for our table. Our busy server came to our table with waters and poured our coffee right away. We ordered eggs bacon toast and pancakes. All were really tasty and served hot in a matter of minutes. My only regret was no blueberries for the pancakes. But otherwise very generous with their helpings. Great local spot for the non locals.

Really good breakfast. Wasn’t cheap, but not bad. I had the Western Omelet with hash browns and the biscuit. Very good, too much food. Couldn’t finish it though. I didn’t give it 5 stars because it was a little too cold in the place. I would go back again through, so I would recommend it.

A group of us visited on our way back to Denver from a camping trip. It was a cute mom n pop place with nice servers. The food wasn’t anything special. It wasn’t bad by any means, just boring and lacked pizzazz. I was rather impressed with the size of the cinnamon rolls tho! Woah! Portions were pretty hefty too! :)

I have lived in Montrose since this place opened. It’s always been ok all around. The place is really run down now. Today was also a major disappointment. Service was super slow… took two hours to get in and out, and it was the slowest I have ever seen it. Food was cold, coffee was old, service that horrible, and I was over charged. Never going back.

Kinda dirty but it is like a truck stop on the main thoroughfare — lots of flies in the window we were sitting near. Standard fare, plentiful & thick if you know what I mean…

Tressa the manager does a great job making sure the food is fresh and even will prepare it to our gluten free requirements! Fresh food is great but she does s nice job helping her guests feel welcome and that what is served is a generous and well prepared hot dish! We invite anyone who wants a good meal to stop here:-)

My husband was on the road so I checked Unilocal for a breakfast restaurant. This looked like a promising choice. 10 minutes later he text me a photo of his delicious looking breakfast. Then verified that it was as good as it looked.

Cat head biscuits. That’s all you really need to know but if huge biscuits ain’t your thing then howsabout a dinner plate size cinnamon roll? No? Well maybe a couple(says unlimited on the menu. i think more than two could kill you though) heavy duty pancakes(no, none of those wussy ass light and fluffy jobs up in here y’all) to go with that real deal pork green chile omelet? Like where this is going? Well walk on in and step on up! Luvs me a great greasy spoon!
