The world seems to be swarming with 1950s nostalgia diners like Gunther Toody’s and a hundred others, but this one is perhaps a few notches above the rest. The ingredients they use are decent, the biscuits and gravy are solidly constructed(remember that’s the litmus test for a breakfast joint!), the hash browns are crispy and hot, the pancakes are fluffy and flavorful, so the kitchen is definitely pulling their weight. Now, it has to be said that they do overdo it on the décor. We all know what nuclear America’s fashion, hair, and cars looked like and Rosie’s *wallpapers* the place with it. Everywhere you look there is some shiny, glitzy memorabilia from the days of Elvis, even crowding out the text on the menu. It gets to be a bit much. There is also the hit-and-miss service. Some days it’s spot on, and on others you may sit for a good 10 minutes before things really start rolling. So major thumbs up on the food, just don’t hit this place wearing a pompadour and a popped collar, you may blend in with the walls, ceilings, and floors and the waitstaff won’t see you.

Went in today for a late breakfast. Got seated right away so that was nice. Saw a wide range of people in the restaurant, very diverse. The atmosphere really is uplifting and fun. Ordered a couple of skillets for me and my husband. We both were pleasantly surprised! The food was really good! Our waitress was extremely friendly and bubbly which made for a great experience. The only negative I would have to say was that I wished my food was a little bit hotter, otherwise the whole experience was great. We plan to go again and give Rosie’s another shot. I definitely would recommend based on my first visit. When a second time hoping it would be just as good. I was wrong. I guess it all depends on what you get. I think on an omelet one should use shredded cheese and not cheese slices from a plastic wrapper! My second meal was very bland and boring. I suppose you have to just get one thing and stick with it and hope for some consistency. Otherwise, I say it is just a simple diner and definitely overpriced for mediocre food. Not excited to go back after visit #2.

Great diner with great service. Came for breakfast on a Saturday and parking lot was full, but were able to get in easily. Breakfast was good… had the La Bamba skillet which was flavorful and delicious. Wife had the Gouda and Onion Omelet which she said was one of the best omelets that she has had in awhile. Oldest son had corn beef hash which he said tasted good and was not overly salty. Coffee was decent… and my only other wish… I wish they offered gluten free pancakes… that would make it five stars in my book.

This is a chain diner, not an AUTHENTICSHINYDINER, so if you are a purist this may not be for you. But for me, who can never live close enough to an authentic dining car, this is good enough. I was stoked that they took reservations for our group on the weekend. The staff is not allowed but they did let me talk to the manager which was SUPER nice and took my reservations with no problem. The service was very welcoming and friendly, the diner does look super cute and super vintage, and the food is good fast food. The shakes are their signature and they let you split it if you like(one is enough for 2 people). I will certainly come back again and again!

The French toast was delicious. The pancakes that my daughter got was fantastic as well. We will definitely come back.

Food was good enough, parking lot was crowded as was the diner. The best deal for breakfast had an early cut-off, the cut-off in Denver(This is a chain.) is later. Toast is an upgrade from the pancakes that comes with most breakfasts. Doesn’t make much sense except that they make a little more money. Go figure. At the end of the meal, they are just average, but that is okay if you need a meal or a place to meet someone.

Such a homey little diner in Monument, decked out with vintage paraphernalia(think old style radios, model cars, and timeless posters)! A bunch of my college friends and I were in the area visiting a friend for the weekend, and she suggested Rosie’s for their famous milkshakes. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon/evening(a group of 7), and it wasn’t that crowded. The girl at the counter was super friendly and asked us if we wanted to sit at the counter or at a booth, and if we were here for milkshakes and/or dinner. We opted for a booth, and oh boy was I hyped up for these milkshakes. Sounds like people come here often enough just for milkshakes, so they must be awesome. Our server was a lovely girl who was quick to bring over menus, water, napkins, etc., and seemed amused by the struggles some of us had choosing a milkshake flavor. Our friend suggested splitting milkshakes, since the portion is enough to fill 2 large glasses. I decided to share a strawberry & blueberry shake(mmm fruitttt) and my friends opted for a chocolate & oreo(w/half malt), a mocha, and a mocha & chocolate cake! Didn’t take too long for the shakes to come out… I don’t remember exactly because we were amusing ourselves with mad libs like the mature college grads we are… heh. Anyway, they were delicious! My fruit shake came with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles on top, was perfectly blended(creamy and smooth and not too thick), and has a generous serving of blueberries(enough to get a little in every bite). My friends were more than satisfied with their shakes as well, although in my opinion the one with malt ended up just tasting like Whoppers, eh. Despite the yumminess, a lot of us were struggling to finish them at the end… good thing we decided to split them, ha. Pay at the counter when you’re done! At $ 3.99/shake, pricing seems very reasonable. If we hadn’t stuffed ourselves with bbq earlier in the day, I would have loved to try the dinner options. A bunch of families/groups arrived during the time we were there, so Rosie’s is definitely a popular spot in the area. :]

I was pretty stoked to go here with my parents as we love oldies music and comfort food. The diner itself is neat and spacious. The music isn’t loud unless you are outside so we didn’t play music because we wouldn’t be able to hear it. The menu was pretty big but the service could have been better. We waited a good amount of time when there were plenty of tables available. The waitstaff was nice but pretty slow. I ordered the meatloaf and it was good but not what I was accustomed to-it had numerous veggies baked in and was smothered in brown gravy. The turkey plate and a chicken fry was ordered too. Was so glad that on the chicken fry, the gravy was ordered on the side because it was breakfast sausage gravy. Who uses sausage gravy on a chicken fry?

I really liked it here– I visited for the first time earlier this week. I was so happy to get a REAL cherry coke! I enjoyed the music and the restaurant is really cute. Our server was good-sometimes seemed a little distracted but she was good. I loved my Oriental chicken salad– I will totally drive to Monument to get that again and again. I hadn’t found a good salad I really loved around here until this one– yay!

Rosie’s Diner is just one of those steady things in life that you can depend on. Great service, fun staff and great diner food. LaBamba Skillet, eggs over easy, my absolute favorite. We miss Alice but Mimi did a great job. 4 stars for great food, great staff and great vibe!

I have a diner yard stick which rarely fails to tell me the truth of a menu. The breakfast burrito indicator. Standard conventions of must haves and still open to interpretation. The Rosita Burrito was fantastic! Not as hot as most green burros but a wonderful smoky, sour sauce I found to interesting to torch with Cholula sauce. Served by Kailey who seemed to be part community theatre lead part diner performer, enjoyed the show! Old town Monument is also worth the stop.

50 s diner. Great shakes & malts. breakfast anytime! Really good breakfast ! Yummy holandaise and the cooks seem to know how to do eggs properly. Good french toast & omelettes. Also love the sandwiches & burgers. Homecookin dinners are the real star. Meatloaf or Turkey dinner? Outstanding. Great shakes and MALTS, cherry or vanilla cokes. Love the baby jukeboxes on each table.

I’ve been such a fan of Rosie’s for a lot of years now. Maybe it’s because I love diners, but every time I’ve been, the food has been cooked well, had good service, and the prices are reasonable. So, that’s all I’m gonna write about it. Thanks as always, Rosie’s!

The food is typical diner food, but they do serve salads. Who would eat salads at a 50s style diner? I wouldn’t! You can get a booth, which has its own jukebox or set at the counter. It’s a busy place, but they efficiently get your order and the service is good from mostly a high school staff. The prices are reasonable and you won’t be disappointed with this Monument, CO. icon.

Rosie’s is a good diner and reminded me of being at home back in the north east. I had the opportunity to eat here for lunch while I am out in Colorado for business. I had a monte cristo sandwich with fries for lunch and I had the egg nog milkshake. Can anyone say delectable?! The milkshake was rich and flavorful and the monte cristo sandwich was battered ever so slightly creating a great texture that wasn’t too heavy. I would definitely consider eating here again if I ever have the opportunity to come back out to CO.

Would love to have been able to provide a detailed review however I have been sitting in this restaurant for 45 minutes waiting for my meal. Bobbie was absolutely rude and unapologetic for forgetting to put in our order and stated ‘we’re really busy’ as the reason for every table around us to receive their meals even after they were seated after our small party of three. Come with patience.
