I love it here. I know that the store, and especially Sephora, is always understaffed. It’s frustrating for them. I do think that the Sephora employees, especially the full time ones, should be properly trained in all products… or at least know a few key ones to recommend for common concerns. I’m always able to find exactly what I need, whether it’s a comfy tee shirt, faux leather pants or a nice dress. I never have trouble finding associates to help me and love that they don’t hound me. The customer service is always nice if I make a return and the cashiers always asks if I have a coupon. sometimes i would forget to use it if not.

Another bad experience! Same associates. Sephora inside this jcp is awful. Two of the associates that are always there(one of them being the sephora manager) are very passive aggressive. The other employee is an embarrassment to what sephora stands for. She is more of a cashier than her job description.(Beauty adviser, customer service specialists) what a joke. Never a thank you for shopping here or can i offer you some assistance. Down right rude and bitter. I expressed my disgust with their customer service and i got a mens cologne sample, a foundation sample which is way to dark for me and a make up bag for my trouble.(A bunch of crap) Which is so sad because i spend a lot of money there and this is the closest one now that i moved back to norman. The store its self is alright. I have to hunt down employees if i have a question but check out is pleasant

Totally annoyed! You have to hunt for fitting rooms, rest rooms, AND employees! The layout is horrible so I’m taking my money elsewhere… GRRRR!!!

This is a review of the portrait studio inside of this JCPenney, because quite frankly I love the rest of the store. I had Christmas portraits made of my 3 month old there almost a month ago, and I should have known then to just go elsewhere. We showed up to our scheduled appointment about 10 minutes early and were told they were really busy and it would be a few minutes. I could understand that, it’s hard to get small children to cooperate all the time and stay on a schedule BUT after waiting for 30 more minutes and then another lady showed up with her child an hour late for her appointment was able to have her photos made before me, I started to get a little irritated. So, after what seemed like a Dr.‘s visit waiting period(about an hour and a half) we had my kid’s Christmas photos made. They were okay looking pictures. We ordered some greeting cards and the whole picture CD and a few other sheets of photos. When it was the day for me to go pick up the pictures at the store(they couldn’t apparently just be delivered to my home address) only a few of the pictures were in. I wasn’t called and told they weren’t in… NOOOO I had to make a little trip down there to find out myself. I live about 40 minutes away in Norman if you were wondering. Once the cards FINALLY came in, I had to make yet another trip to pick them up. Then something even worse happened. About halfway through the stack of cards, there was purple something printed all over them. They were ruined. And not cheap. I called the portrait studio, was told there was no manager for me to talk to about how I could get new ones in time for the holidays, and was only offered that if I bring the damaged cards back up there they would give me a free sheet the next time I came in. I promptly told the girl I wouldn’t be making another trip to that studio, so that was unacceptable. If you need anything done within a month and a half time frame, or enjoy being treated fairly or politely I would suggest going elsewhere.

If you follow the news at all, you probably know JCPenney has fallen on hard times. I completely missed JCPenney in its heyday because I spent most of said heyday wearing T-shirts and jean shorts. I’ve only really shopped there in the last couple years, so I can’t speak to whether or not this is better or worse than it’s always been. And I know that my wife has had some bad luck with the salon staff(major failures in the haircut department and they have now stopped carrying shampoo she really likes). All this is to say I completely understand why people have problems with it. But as a guy who needs to look half professional for work purposes but does not want to spend huge amounts of money on clothes, I’ve had good experiences. Last visit, I went in, found what I needed, paid and escaped. It took me a little longer to get what I wanted than I’d have liked, but mainly because I refused to ask any of the staff where things were. I relied instead on my innate sense of navigation, honed by generations of evolution to know exactly where things were in a department store. That was a mistake. The staff I did interact with were very nice, professional, and competent. No complaints there, but it can be hit or miss depending on who you run into. So while the entire giant department store concept may not work anymore, this seems to work pretty well. Be warned: Your experience almost certainly will vary.

This is a review for the Sephora inside JcPenney: — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - It is unfortunate that this is the closest Sephora to Norman(where my family lives), because otherwise I would never go there! My sister and I came in to Sephora the other day, and the sales associates were RUDE and unhelpful. One of them even unboxed the item I was going to buy before I could buy it to «show me» what it looked like, though what I wanted was to be able to test the item(and their tester was either gone or stolen). Apparently they are not allowed to mark out items to use as testers, which seems fishy to me because I used to work in the beauty retail industry and I know that retailers are ALWAYS marking items off to use as testers to encourage people to buy the item. Anyway, regardless, I was not impressed with the sales associate at all. Then when my sister and I went to go buy our items, the girl ringing us up was ignoring us and talking to the other sales associate. She forgot to ask if I was a Sephora card member(which I am) and when I finally inquired about it, she said it was«too late» and I’d have to call a 1 – 800 # to add my points in from the transaction. SERIOUSLY?! I am pretty appalled at the service I had at Sephora inside this JcPenney location, and would not recommend visiting this particular Sephora if you value good customer service. I will not be back. Luckily I live in CA, so I am rarely in the area… But this was my second visit to the store, and definitely my last. I’ll hit one in OKC if I’m desperate…
