A couple of brothers have become the new owners of this quaint little gyro joint and have expanded the menu to include other more-american choices, like fried onion burgers. The gyros are still excellent! The greek salad is still fresh and delicious. My only suggestion that keeps me from 5 stars is the serving portion. A salad that costs $ 5 should be a meal by itself. Otherwise, they seem to be continuing the standard of fresh and well-made food. Worth a visit.

Had lunch at Greek Taverna around 1:15 on Monday, October 6, 2014. The place had a few tables, but since it was later in the lunch hour there was no line. I went with the lunch special, which is a gyro, fries, and a drink. I think the price is $ 7 or $ 8, but I didn’t want the drink, so she took that off of mine. As a result, I’m not entirely sure of the price, but it’s in that neighborhood. The gyro was a decent size. I have seen them much larger, so if I had to say, I would say the amount of meat you get in this one is below average. But, it’s very flavorful and juicy, so that’s great. The raw onions, a staple of a good gyro, were cut too thick for me. But, you get a good helping. The tzatziki sauce is thick and creamy, but lacks seasoning. If you added some garlic to this it would be a very good sauce. The fries are fantastic. They are hand cut, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, with a little bit of potato peel. They needed salt and pepper, but they were great. You get a large order as well. Some of the best fries I’ve ever had at a Greek joint. The restaurant is clean with plenty of seating. The facility is larger on the inside than it looks as you are approaching it. The employees were beyond friendly, but not overbearing. I was asked several times how I liked my food and if I needed anything. Also, when there were no customers, employees were cleaning. Excellent service. I’ll return.

This place is legit. Great falafel, tzatziki, humus and tyropita! I used to get my gyros elsewhere. This place caught my eye and after months of procrastination, I finally tried it. They have excellent falafel(made the Greek way with tzatziki rather than humus), great tyropita, and a great, if unusual, Okie-Gyro that has onion and BBQ sauce. Good sides too! After years of getting Greek elsewhere, I mainly go to Greek Taverna now.

We ate there for probably the third time while driving around Moore for the city wide garage sales a little more than a week ago. It had been probably a year since we had been there. The last time I tried to go, they had some funky hours going on and they were already closed by 6 p.m. I think it was something like opened for 3 hours around lunch, closed then opened for an hour or so around dinner. So I’m extremely glad to see they have more stable hours now. The food was well priced, excellent service, and quickly served to our table. We both got the lunch specials of a gyro, fries, and a drink. It was plenty of food. The store itself is narrow and there isn’t a lot of seating. It was a little bit late of a lunch so I’m not entirely sure how busy it does get during prime lunch hours. There’s only one restroom but it was clean. I hate to say it, but I find their food to be much better than The Greek House in Norman now that the original owners have been gone for awhile. And that was always my go-to for gyros for probably 15+ years. Easily better than Hummus in both taste and service. A true gem hidden away in the Old Town of Moore.

Good Gyro and homemade Falafel. Great service — very friendly and quick. Good price. Good find for a local place in the area. Fresh ingredients.

I love this place! Everyone is really friendly. The food is always hot and delicious when I pick up my order and their tzatziki is the best at any gyro place I’ve eaten at in OKC and Moore. Love!

The Greek Taverna proved to be a great new restaurant. The gyro special was great and so were the loukoumades(small fried Greek donut holes, in essence). My only complaint was the Greek salad lacked feta and a bit of seasoning, otherwise a good price for great food!

It took me a while to get here, but I kept hearing so many compliments I knew I had to try it for myself. My daughter and I had lunch and it was very good! I check out gyro sandwiches all over the city and this place has one of the best! We also tried the fried cheese pies, and they were terrific AND cheap! I want to compliment the quality of food because this place is a great value! We had two sandwiches, split an order of fries, the fried cheese pie order and a beer for less than $ 20! That is a great value. I also really liked the bright, and comfy atmosphere. The place was cool on a 110+ degree day, and the staff was really friendly. BTW, please know that you are drinking Greek when you order a Heineken which is the most popular beer in Greece. Not, only will I be going back for more… I plan to take family and friends with me!

The food is out of this world, the service is warm and friendly. I would highly recommend giving this place a try, I have been three of four times and it gets better each time. I love it!
