excellent! great little sushi japanese restaurant hidden away in Indiana… the food is high quality, and the service is exceptional!

Worst service, disgusting on cleanliness, rude waitresses. Food good– order to go at least 1 hour in advance because wait is terrible.

Went here for lunch and it is now my favorite sushi restaurant! The fish is fresh and the presentation is amazing. I ordered a Naruto Roll, which was refreshing, and a combo off the lunch menu. My dad and I sat at the sushi bar area and got the chance to talk to the chef, he was nice and the service was great!

The best Japanese Steakhouse that I’ve been to in the area. I was a bit apprehensive about a Japanese steakhouse in Mooresville, but man oh man was it good. Excellent service, great food, and reasonable prices. A true hidden gem.

Hands down. Best Japanese Steakhouse and sushi in the area! This place is a rare find but worth the trip. Also, the staff are simply amazing! They will take good care of you and always have a smile on their face. Place is extremely clean and doesn’t smell like a fish market when you walk in! Love it!

Prices are okay for the amount of food you get. The restaurant’s décor is pretty cheesy, but the service was descent. I generally just call in to-go orders. BTW, it’s in the back of a parking lot, I was doubting my GPS the first time I went there. Keep your head up and you’ll find it!

A-1 is the Best place for high quality fresh sushi. The service is professional and friendly. They treat you like family. Many different rolls to choose from. All of the sushi is wonderful, along with anything from the grill. As they get to know you, and your likes and dislikes they will make custom rolls or appetizers for you. When in season try the live scallops sashimi, to die for. Their goal is to offer the very best quality sushi and service to every customer.

I love sushi, so much so I even love not so great sushi but I just could not get on board with this place. Sure the décor is cool, the live fish swimming in the small pond in the restaurant is a nice touch but the food was pretty bad and it was pricey for how terrible it was. So maybe try something else.

Has to be some of the best sushi around. Try the crazy rabbit. You will love it. Very friendly staff with a wonderful atmosphere.

This is by far the best restaurant in or near Mooresville. The food is great, the staff is friendly, and the sushi chef is swift. The décor yes it may be slightly tacky but don’t let it discourage you the food is great. I highly recommend the black angel roll, and the spicy Kani salad. Also in response to someone’s comment about going to Narita, I have went to Narita several times and wanted to like it because the staff is friendly and most of them use to work at ginza on 38th st. So they know me. The quality of the sushi at Narita is mediocre and every time I have went I have had to wait several hours for my food.

We visit often because it is reliably good. We enjoy the soup, avocado salad, various vegetarian rolls, tempura vegetables, edamame, yakisoba, sake, and fried Oreos. The ginger dressing is our all time favorite from any Japanese restaurant!

Pretty average sushi. Next time I’ll drive the extra 10 minutes to Narita in Plainfield.

We had dinner here based on the reviews we read on Unilocal. It was fabulous! The waitress was very attentive. I had the Spicy Lover, based on another reviewers recommendation. It was so good! We went in on a Saturday evening around 6:00. It was not busy. We live close to this restaurant and will definitely be going back!

we were a little hesitant to go in at first due to no cars in the parking lot at 7:15 on a Saturday night. however, I am so glad we went in! everything was presented beautifully and tasted even better! cannot wait to go back as it’s some of the best sushi I have had. someone at our table also got one of their Japanese steak meals and was raving about that dish as well!

This place is a bit put of the way if you’re downtown but the sushi is spot on 100% of the time! My brother and I are regulars here and the food/presentation never disappoints! While you are here don’t forget to try the green dragon, happy girl, and spicy lover:)

Excellent sushi place if you enjoy quantity & quality. I had the regular menu and the sushi both was to die for. The customer service and the atmosphere were both awesome. I would recommend to.

Of all the sushi places I’ve tried around the country, this is by far the most delightfully tacky(to borrow a phrase from Hooters). There is a freakin’ koi pond with a water wheel right smack in the middle of the place. Glittery fake flower arrangements, Christmas lights… you name a gaudy Dollar Tree decoration, A1 has it covered. I think knowing the building used to be a country line-dancing saloon-themed night club makes it even better. That fact is still kind of obvious from the outside(and the inside too, a bit). The sushi was very good and moderately priced. I have no idea what the names of the rolls we got were, but the tuna nigiri was excellent if you’re into that sort of thing. The presentation was outstanding. The tempura cheesecake was just so-so. Really, my only complaint — and it’s not really a reflection of anything the staff did purposely — was that the service was ridiculously slow. We were there on a busy Saturday night, but there were two servers for the entire restaurant. These girls were working as hard as they could to make everyone happy, but it still took two hours from the time we were seated until the time we paid and left. For a long time, there was only one sushi chef, although another one joined him later. I’d definitely go back, but maybe at a less busy time.

Delicious, flavorful, and dynamic. The service was good, friendly, and quick. We ordered three maki rolls. The spicy girl was great rendition with punch of flavor. The sushi is worth it. The mochi was a great after dinner dessert. I wasn’t thrilled about the veg. Gyoza but it seemed fresh:)
