Had a couple drinks and the crabmeat nachos. Food was good, but it seemed like it sat a while before they served it to us. Service was very sub-par. It is most likely due to poor management and training. We went on a Friday evening and the place was half empty. I definitely will not be back and do not recommend this place to anyone else.

My experience here was great! Went here with my family for a Fathers Day lunch and had a good time. I went in to check how long the wait was to be seated outside and they took us in about 5 minutes. All the ladies up front were nice and each one asked me if I was being helped when they would come up to the front. Our waitress Christie F. was great! She did a good job checking in with us to make sure the food was good and that we didn’t need anything. My kids meals were big portions, they all took some of their food home. My husband ordered the chicken carbonara special which he enjoyed and I tried it and liked it also. I ordered the fish tacos and had the 3 types of fish(grilled, blackened,& fried) I thought it was perfect and liked the grilled one the best and the blackened fish came second. They had live music also which is a nice touch but they weren’t good. hopefully next time will be better. I would come back at night with hubby to enjoy the view and have some drinks. I’m glad I checked this spot out despite some of the reviews on here.

Great atmosphere and always friendly faces. I don’t understand some reviews on this page. The service is good and the food is delicious. 5 stars for Eddie’s.

The lake view saves this place. Food and service is mediocre. Avoid the crabmeat nachos… mine had NO crab. The waitress agreed, I complained twice, still got charged for them and no crab meat. My husband’s burger was over cooked. Bleh.

Beautiful location, decent food, but service is lacking — tremendously. Hostesses were very polite and friendly; however, there was disappointing service from other staff members. Naturally, any Lake Norman restaurant with a view and vibe like Eddies is going to be popular. My family and I went on a rainy Friday night. We were disappointed by the lack of attention to the care of the outdoor seating area, covered in rain water. With proper staffing, this area could of been utilized once the storm passed. It took around 15 – 20 minutes to get drinks, 30 minutes for our apps, and 45 minutes to get entrees. While the food was tasty(the shrimp fritters, fried oysters, fish & chips, lasagna, salmon burger), our server was not attentive to when our drinks were low or, generally, checking in on us.(However, it took only a minute to get our check returned to us… seemed like a nice attempt to boost a tip.) There simply appeared to be little management of the staff in observing other staff members throughout the restaurant. With such a prize location, it would be great to get really attentive and polite service, as we’d want in such an awesome part of North Carolina :)

Lobster claw machine a joke. Got one and machine suddenly died. No answers from the 4 hostesses at front desk.

Referred by friends who have visited often. Easy parking for motorcycles. Outside seating with a spectacular view of the lake. Service was fast, food tasty, and varied menu. Looking forward to a second visit with a group the end of the week.

The food was pretty good! Just the portions are pretty small I would recommend getting a appetizer to fill up on. I am not sure what the other reviewers were talking about the service here was great! We got seated right away our food came out fast and hot! I would for sure come back here!

Stopped in for lunch on a beautiful day. Staff was friendly and upbeat, but in the end, bubbly doesn’t equal brilliance. Our server, Christie, was very friendly but terribly inefficient. It took over 5 minutes to get our drink order in, and 15 minutes after that, our water and unsweet tea showed up. Another 5 — 10 minutes elapsed before we ordered, and then a 30 minute wait for the food to arrive. All together, it was about 60 minutes from the time we arrived until we had food in front of us. The Fish Sandwich(grilled) and the Crab Cake on a bun were both very good, but the cole slaw side was a pathetically small 2TBSP serving in a plastic cup. The fries, while tasty, were frozen, bagged fries that you can get at a grocery store. Nothing impressive here at all. Total bill was $ 31 and change… definitely not worth it based on what you received. The other entrees, based on description, were way over priced as well. Cannot recommend Eddie’s at this time.

I don’t know what the other reviewers are eating, but my husband and I have been here twice now and LOVE it! We had peel and eat shrimp, which were unbelievable in size! Absolutely HUGE! The Crab Meat Nachos were also HUGE! They seem to do everything big here! There were giant chunks of crab meat right on top of the nachos. We also had a side of fries, which were those perfect crispy addition to our buffet of choices. My favorite, though, the Oysters Rockefeller! Those things are the best I’ve had. They are a perfect mix of garlic, cheese and oyster. Try it for yourself. The service was awesome, the food was top notch and the outside deck provided the perfect atmosphere for an evening out.

We hesitate to go to eddies because the quality is usually not good. But the view is great so we decided to go. My son got the mussels and loves them. Prob best value on the menu. That is the only reason I am giving 3 stars. I ordered the crab nachos. Big plate but hardly any crab. Very plain and disappointing. My husband got the fish taco. They were ok nothing special.

For a restaurant calling itself a seafood restaurant, the seafood is limited to mostly fried fish and seafood. I got the linguini with white clam sauce and it was ok, but I’ve certainly had better. Maybe it was the night, but the service was really slow. Many in the party I was with got the crabcake sandwich and said it was good. I might try it again in the summer when I can sit out on the deck. There are a lot of other options in the area though!

Betsy and I found this place for lunch about a month ago. Our lunch was so good. The place was clean(#1 thing I look for) The staff was great, the owner sent us some samples of different things. We absolutely loved it. We loved it so much we made reservations for Valentines. OMG! This was so good. I got filet special, so did hubby, Betsy and her hubby got the Salm on. We had oyster appetizers and clam something. so relish. Then we came back tonight for dinner. It was so good. People you would not believe menu. The Italian is the best around too. Menu is fabulous. I definitely recommend. Any one that knows me knows how picky I am. I believe the olé crowd that used to hang out at Vinnie’s is just trying to be mean on Unilocal.I don’t know about you but we all know how Vinnie’s was…

Despite the review being so low… we didn’t even come here on that principle. We came because it’s on the lake(amazing view and heaters), it was a good distance from Uptown and the city not far from the freeway. We told the waiter it was our little celebration and we ordered everything good… oysters Rockefeller(amazing and gone in 2.0 secs), snow crab legs(delicious and sweet), ribeye med(perfect with the grizzly bits) and of course the lobster(fresh out of the water, perfect!). A few fireballs, rum runner, whiskey sour(could have been sweeter)…these guys are serious about their seafood. My only grip is the same everywhere… bathrooms need a good remodel. Everything else was smooth sailing and with summer time coming… this will be a great place for some fresh oysters shooters and a nice cocktail.

Came into Eddie’s at 1pm on a Sunday, we should have known to turn around when it was almost empty. Had to flag down the hostess to get someone to take our drink orders after 15 minutes. The older gentleman(we later found out he was the owner) that came to take our order finally took our lunch order but never rang my food in(he rang in my girlfriend’s food and it came out). I had to flag someone down to alert them that I never received my food. Finally my fish and chips($ 14) came out, frozen tasting fish sticks(not good at all) fries and a small plastic cup of coleslaw. The food was terrible. They did offer to take my food off the check since it came out so late, but they dropped off the check at full price. So one again I had to flag someone down to pay and have the food comped. Overall, poor organization and poor food. Such a shame with a great location overlooking Lake Norman.

The only reason why I gave even 1 star because our waitress was great! Food was not! Crab legs came out refrigerator cold. I told the waitress and she took them to the back. You’d think they just give me a new hot cluster… Nope! Just heated it up. I wasn’t expecting a new cluster but after I though about it I was disappointed. Prices at this place are insane! There weren’t many people in the restaurant on a Saturday night. I guess that should’ve told us something. Would not recommend this spot to anyone!

So I took my wife out for our weekly date night. We arrived at 7:20 after seeing online that they are open until 9 on sunday, the place is pretty dead, there was a pretty bad snowstorm on Friday and this was the first time we could get out in about 3 days. The first thing the waitress tells us when we sit down is not to get too comfortible because they would be closing at 8… so, in 40 minutes… so, we decided to take our money elsewhere where we could relax and watch the Panthers champoinship game. Sorry guys, you lost my business before you earned it. There are too many places to be treated poorly.

We had a pretty solid experience the other weekend at Eddie’s listening to great music(by JAM) on the patio overlooking the lake, felt like we were on vacation. Not expecting to see anything worthwhile on the menu to eat being vegan, we were surprised to see the black bean burger listed as vegan. Be careful with the yogurt bun it’s supposed to come on with coleslaw… makes me wonder how vegan it actually was. We went with it though and it was a good sandwich, fell apart like an egg-free patty does sometimes, which made me trust it a little more. Everyone seemed pretty pleased with food and service overall. On a nice weather night with solid music, it’s a nice spot on the lake. Obviously, I get that it’s a seafood joint, but my biggest complaint is the living animal vending machine in front as you walk in, to catch your own lobster in a «claw» style game. It’s pretty sad.

Wow I really do not understand all the many negative reviews for this restaurant. I decided to be adventurous and try this place out despite all them and I am really pleased we did. We arrive by boat on Sunday afternoon around 12:45 and parked on the sandy beach near the restaurant. When you come by boat you do have to walk all the way through the restaurant to the front to see the hostess. She was a young girl who was also very nice. We wanted to sit outside, even though the inside was very nice. We had not been here since it was the previous restaurant. I also saw their raw bar on ice. The selection that day was not plentiful but the octopus caught my eye. I was hesitant with the other reviews so maybe I will try it next time. Even though the deck was packed she was able to seat us immediately at a high top table in the shade. First, we had a truly spectacular waitress. The name on our bill was Madi V. She was pleasant, let us take our time and was attentive. The menu is big but not overwhelming. We ordered the beer special: $ 2 Bud Light drafts… nice! My hibby started off with the meatball app and I with the crab cake app. He loved the meatballs and the marinara sauce! I liked my crab cake but wasn’t crazy about it. You can definitely see the fresh lump crab meat but the fillers really overwhelmed the taste of the crab. The basalmic reduction drizzle was a very nice touch. For entrees I tried my favorite fish tacos and he had the parmesean chicken wedge with fries. Once again he loved his meal. The bread looked freshly baked and crusty and the fries were perfect. I got my fish tacos blackened. They were good and the fish was fresh and flaky. I didn’t care for the cilantro vinegarette. It tasted like greek dresaing to me. Next time I will order them without it because the pico de gallo was really really good. Plus they tortillas were delicious. I prefer corn but these were flour. They look the extra time to grill the tortillas and the were warm and perfect. Here are my only suggestions for improvement. One, there was no music playing on the patio and with everyone seated so close it would have been a nice buffer. At our high top we didn’t have salt and pepper or any condiments. Also apparently they have a Sunday brunch menu we were not given. I saw another diner eating grits that looked delish. I wish we would have known. Lastly, when we first sat down I told our waitress we had a $ 10 of $ 50 voucher. She did not tell us that alcohol was not included in that. So in the end our bill was $ 57 with $ 12 of that being drinks. I asked her if we could get a voucher to use next time as the one on Unilocal has a timer that expires when I already unlocked it for her. She wasn’t able to do that but the manager took 5% off. Okay. So with an $ 11 tip our bill was $ 62. Not bad at all considering how much food we got and drinks and the quality. Very nice experience. We will be back and I hope others read this and aren’t afraid to try it out. Oh and the bathrooms were extremely clean!!!

Unfortunately, I have to agree with most of the ratings. This restaurant is OK at best. I came for lunch and had a blackened fish sandwich with mixed vegetables. The meal was OK but overpriced. The sandwich was bland. In fact it was just a cod fillet with a touch of blackened seasoning, on bread, with a little mayo and the heal end of iceburg lettuce. The vegetables were not seasoned. Edible, but not great. The best parts of this place are the views of the lake, drink specials are OK, and my server was friendly enough. I doubt I’ll come back. Port city grill in Cornelius has much better views and food, at a comparable price.

Used to have great food and better service. seems they are no better then when it was Vinnies! He seems to be hiring pretty scantily clad waitresses with zero customer service skills. The portions are smaller and nothing to brag about. Glutin free buns were stale and freezer burnt the response was — they come frozen! No excuse. $ 60 for 2 burgers with fries, a sad meatball app a glass of wine and a soda! I’d rather drive to Port City Club or any other lake front location! This is not worth it!

I have never been disrespected so much in a restaurant. The manager Dave was so rude and I will absolutely never go back to this restaurant. Let me set the scene for you: there’s a lobster claw machine in the front. If you catch your lobster you eat it basically. Well first try I catch the biggest one in there… next thing I know the machine breaks. The hostess tells us ‘it happens all the time’ if the lobster is too heavy then it can’t pick it up and drops it… then I ask you… why are there lobsters that heavy in there??! So we ask to see a manager to get our free lobster… he REFUSES to come over to talk to us. The hostess comes up to me and says here’s your $ 2 back. The manger Dave got in our face, was completely disrespectful, basically threw our free lobster in our face after 20 minutes. What a joke of customer service experience.

I wish I would have read the reviews here before going. My husband and I make a point to try out different Charlotte-area restaurants at least once a week. Though he(unlike me) is not a big seafood fan, he always makes it a point to treat me to seafood on special occasions, and yesterday was my birthday. He had been wanting to take me to Eddie’s for quite some time, so we rounded up our four children(ages 4, 9, 17 and 18) and headed to a restaurant«in our own backyard.» Unfortunately, I wasn’t at all impressed. The menu looked good.(To be fair, I wasn’t there for a long, relaxing«date-night» type experience, so that might factor into my review some.) The view was amazing, and we waited — on a Thursday evening — only about 20 minutes for patio seating. The inside of the restaurant, relatively empty, looked clean. Once seated, one glimpse at the prices on the menu, and I was taken aback. I understand very well paying higher prices for quality food, but wow! I stopped eating after the Oysters Rockefeller, which were okay but definitely not my favorite(and had several shell pieces in them — extra crunch? Yuck.). What the hubs and kids ordered could have been ordered at any other dive — fish & chips, a cup of soup, popcorn shrimp, a hot dog and a burger — and we paid a lot more for nothing special here.(There’s not much«fresh» about those meals — except maybe the seafood soup? — so I would question the argument that higher prices reflect quality ingredients in meals like the ones everyone else at my table ordered.) My 17-year-old, who ordered the $ 8 cup of seafood soup, didn’t even finish it.(And she was starving.) We waited a long time for our meal to arrive, and the generic fish & chips arrived after everyone else’s meal. On a positive note, though, the servers were friendly and seemed to be trying very hard. Bottom line: it simply isn’t worth the cost. Our bill — for an oysters-Rockafeller appetizer, a cup of seafood soup, a simple burger, popcorn shrimp, a hot dog, fish and chips and drinks — including three Coronas — was about $ 100, including tip. I don’t mind paying $ 100 for a family meal, but I would have expected for my socks to be knocked off. And that’s not at all what happened. Not even close. What REALLY shocks me in reading Unilocal reviews(unfortunately *after* my own experience) is the owners’ responses to some of the reviews. Telling a customer — in WRITING(!!!) — that apparently the restaurant is out of their budget because they complained about exorbitant prices? I’m still picking my chin up off the floor.(Toto, I don’t believe we’re in New Jersey anymore …) If my experience alone wasn’t enough, that little nugget of information was. Best of luck, Eddie’s, but we won’t be back.

My non-crispy fries. Manager promised a re-do never delivered. It turns out that was someone named Ann-Margret /part owner saying they were too busy for extra crispy fries. I won’t be back even though this was at least our 6th visit. Memorial Day with only the outside seated. .it took an hour for burgers

Over hyped. Overcooked Food and No Service We’ve tried Eddie’s three times now in hopes it will get better and unfortunately that’s not the case. Went for lunch last Saturday and ordered my Fish ‘n Chips while my wife(Our Lady of the Perpetual Diet) ordered a Salad. Service was poor and after we were seated, it was close to 20 minutes before a server ever came over. We were almost to the point of leaving. Placed our order which took almost 30 minutes and when it did show up, it was cold and overcooked. Apparently it had sat on the counter for awhile waiting to be picked up. Had the same experience the first time I went. Décor is nice and there are not a lot of places actually on the Lake athough this one is well off the main channel. Appears to a great bar and social hangout and if that’s what you’re after, this may be your place. If you goal is a nice lunch or dinner, I would not recomment.
