Wanted to return the favor of writing a review since it was reviews that sold me on living at The Grove. Moved here at the beginning of June 2015 and it’s by far the best place I’ve lived at. STAFF: The girls in the front office are really awesome to work with. Casey was who showed me around and made the application process super easy and quick. NOISE: Saw a few reviews on other sites that mentioned noise. Before The Grove, I lived in two houses and two apartments. The Grove has been the best with noise levels by far and in the evenings ambient noise really quiets down. MAINTENANCE: Submitted an online request from my work around 8am and the issue was looked at before noon. You also have the option to be present when the work is done. The maintenance guy(Joe) left a detailed report on what he looked at and also called my cell to let me know when the issue would be fixed. There’s only one thing I wish was different at The Grove but it’s just minor. There’s a $ 30VIP trash service fee which also includes pest control. $ 360 a year for trash and pest control seems a bit much. To be fair, potential residents are told about this fee upfront so it’s not a hidden cost. For 2 and 3 bedroom apartments I can see where the VIP trash service is helpful, especially if there’s couples and families living together, but I’m a single guy who’s barely home(takes me 3 weeks to fill up a trash can) so I usually just take it out myself. I absolutely love living at The Grove and the staff is fantastic! Definitely stop by and take a tour.

This apartment complex is a great addition to Mooresville. The location is great and the apartments themselves are brand new, with top notch appliances and finishes throughout. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the property and quick to respond to any issues that you might have. I have lived at this property for the past 7 months and would highly recommend it to anyone looking in the Mooresville area.

A leasing at the Grove, and its office manager, exploited my good will and trust as a student looking to rent and apartment for the first time. After convincing me to pay a «completely refundable» $ 300 security deposit after applying — before I was even approved, let alone signed leasing papers — the leasing office failed to notify me of approval at all. It turns out the approval — WHICHINCLUDEDMYPERSONALINFORMATION — was sent to an incorrect email address, due to a clerical error by the leasing agent. After a few weeks, without hearing about approval or signing leasing papers, I let the office know I couldn’t continue with the process — I was moving unexpectedly to a different state. I was informed that my time limit had passed and my security deposit was no longer refundable and would in no part be returned. This is illegal under the Tenant Security Act, Article 6, in North Carolina law. I have reached out to the leasing office in person and by phone several times over a span of 3 months now, with due diligence and infinite patience. I have sent a detailed legal outline with necessary attached documents. Receipt of this email was affirmed only by an in-person visit. There was no response. I was brushed off 4 – 5 times and told a ‘supervisor’ would contact me, then that the manager went away on a personal vacation and would call me. No one ever reached out. As a young adult with limited legal funds I feel intentionally taken advantage of and dismissed — ‘if we ignore her, she’ll just go away.’ I am disgusted by the lack of professionalism, from the initial misrepresentation to the clerical error that started the mess down to the complete and utter neglect of my patient and calm requests for some kind of follow-through. I have reported this business to the Better Business Bureau and have contacted the small claims court. I only wish I could do more to protect future tenants looking into leasing at The Grove.
