We’re working on a project at work that requires us to extract a spice in water and then package it in a spray can. Sound easy because it’s the same procedure for brewing Coffee. Only problem is straining out the spice after you have extracted it. That’s were Jo-Ann Fabrics comes in. A Bleached 100% Cotton Muslin makes a great filter media. The folks at this location were very helpful and I got what I needed in record time at the good price. Good Service makes for a good day.

Just moved to the area, and as an avid sewer and crafter I was excited to check out the local Jo-Ann and get some supplies. I was disappointed when I walked in and saw that this location is about half the size of every other Jo-Ann I’ve been in. This location is mostly sewing and fabric, with some scrapbooking, yarn, and jewelry supplies. They are severely lacking in other types of «craft» supplies(like paint! they only carry one brand!). Even in the sewing/fabric department they don’t have a very big selection of specific items. Just the«necessities». Disappointing. Other than that, the employees have seemed nice, though there aren’t many to help when you can’t find something. Also, you’ll probably have to push a buzzer to get a cashier to come up to the front to ring you up.

Best place to buy craft supplies in mooresville! Super super nice employees, extensive jewelry making, unique sewing, paint and scrapbook supplies compared to any other craft stores in the area, especially Michael’s. I have found many the same things significantly cheaper at Joanne compared to Michael’s too. This is a fully stocked fabric/sewing store, which are hard to find, its like no one anyone sews anymore, but they have a great amount of other craft supplies too– if you’re looking for hoards of fake plastic flowers and fruit, and random home décor trinkety junk, they have that(and its WAY cheaper) just not nearly the selection as Michael’s(but who really needs to choose between 34 styles of mini plastic pumpkins???). My favorite aspect of Joanne Fabrics is there’s NOT mobs of ignorant mothers, gabbing loudly on their cell phone, running their carts into your ankles while simultaneously ignoring their children as they destroy the aisles(like you find at EVERY other craft store…). Joannes is QUIET, meaning I can plan out my project and gather necessary supplies without the distractions of little Jimmy spraying glitter all over the aisles and screaming bloody murder when his mom politely asks him to ‘please stop destroying the store’.

I like Joann because they seem to have a more thorough selection but the variety is not as wide as Michael’s. Michael’s carries more home décor but when it comes to fabric/sewing, Joann has way more. They also have more toys and more special event stuff. They are not as big as Michael’s(which can be overwhelming to some) and there doesn’t seem to be as much staff around to help out, but the store is bright and well laid out. I prefer Michael’s but do come here when Michael’s doesn’t have what I need.
