Carla’s Bakery

Went there for lunch today. Sat out side beautiful warm day. We ordered their Pastrami Reuben. The meat was over cooked the fries were bits and pieces. Went to use restroom and the toilet was stopped up gross. Not sure we will return.

Best Mexican food experience in Moorpark with pricing to compete with some other Moorpark restaurants. Portion size of combination plates are very decent and the Mexican food is authentic. This is not an Americanized Mexican food place. Aguas frescas (fresh waters– kinda like juice) very good and a decent variety switching every day: strawberry, pineapple, coconut, papaya, mango, and other delicious flavors. Customer service is very good with occasional long lines at peak times (am & lunch and dinner time) Not many with the pricing and consistency as Carla’s bakery. Recommend that you try everything once, sure you’ll find your favorite plate, burrito, or Mexican bread (pan dulce).

Wow. Carla’s is really, really good! We have been coming here for years for various reasons. At first for the amazing, delicious selection of Mexican breads and deserts. I never, ever had anything other than absolutely fresh and they are put in glass door cabinets on display for you to grab your own tong’s and tray to choose for yourself. You can fill up the tray and it’s never more then six bucks! Perfect for company.
Speaking of company… that is how I discovered there unbelievable, authentic, delicious hot dinner food.
I was getting unexpected company for dinner. A LOT of unexpected company. My husband’s 106 year old grandmother passed away and all of her family was coming from all over the country… and decided to stay at our house. Well, 11 of them. And four more that parked their RV’s at our house. What was I to do to feed all these people dinner that night and breakfast in the morning, along with taking care of my own family? My husband said one word…:“CARLA’S!“
I bought everything on the menu by the pound for dinner and two trays of breads for dessert. Put it all on platters with rice and bean sides, tortillas and salsa’s. They even gave me chopped up cilantro and onions with cut up lime. It all displayed beautifully!
I WAS A ROCKSTAR! I even impressed my mother in law! My only issue… someone in the crowd was Mexican and she said that the carnita’s had intestines in them like it was a good thing. uh…everyone froze. Some shrugged and kept on eating, others inspected their food carefully. but two seconds later, everyone laughed hysterically!
I don’t know what a chicharon is but those crunchy little suckers are great! I sure hope they aren’t deep fried intestines ;-)
Thanks for saving the day, Carla’s. Next time I have company, or just want a quick meal for my family… I know where to go.
As a matter a fact, I going right now so I don’t have to cook tonight!

the best carnitas and chicharon. and bread in all of the ventura county. all there food is amazing but this tops them all

I’m tired of them always getting my orders wrong this pisses me off I’m done never wasting money there again until they get employees that can comprehend simple orders I order a breakfast burrito with egg ham rice and beans and they forget to put in the egg and ham like wtf really screw this place better off searching for food in a dumpster

Great authentic mexican food, really good taste and perfect for families, their carnitas are to die for great food and great prices, I will come back soon

I come here at least once a week. Contrary to its name, its more than just a bakery. It is a full restaurant with seating inside. I usually grab and go since I have limited lunch break. And for those of you wondering, they have personnel that speak both english and spanish!
I love their healthy selection! Fresh cut fruit and fresh squeezed juices! I thoroughly enjoy their Carrot, Beet and Celery juice.

Don’t let the sign «Panaderia» (Bakery) fool you. This is an outstanding authentic Mexican Deli that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner! They also have nice Mexican pastries, fresh-​cut fruit and juices. Carla’s is a gem!
