This was my first time to a guitar center. I have to say I was very impressed the store itself was way bigger than I had expected. They have a vast selection of every type of instrument you could walk from electric guitars to acoustic guitar’s to DJ equipment and a whole wall of nothing but software. As soon as I came through the door the staff asked me if I needed help with anything. The staff answer any questions that I had and was very knowledgeable. For a change place I was very impressed. Overall I highly recommend coming here. They have the biggest selection I have ever seen in the music store.

Even though I tend to avoid big chains especially as a musician I have to tip my hat to this location. They are always dependable and help out anyway they can. Fud, the guitar technician is excellent at his job and a great guy. And store manager Justin really cares about helping musicians get what they need. No matter if I am making a big purchase or a pack of guitar strings I will always drop in.

I’ve become quite the mark for this chain since the Moosic location opened, to the point where if I’m in a mall that has a GC, I head there(to the amusement of my wife). Guitar Centers are like strip clubs for musicians. I’ve bought three guitars at this location — an Epiphone Les Paul, a Dean MAB3, and an Ibanez 7-string — in the past(specifically during a two year period between 2009 and now). Every time I’m in the area I always make it a point to stop and look around, and I almost always find myself buying some printed music or something else for my guitars. I would not be surprised if I walked out of there with yet another guitar(a nice Fender Strat, maybe?) within the next 18 months. I’ll definitely be buying some pedals from here in immediate future visits. The selection of printed music and instructional/inspirational DVDs is great, and is always one of the parts of the store I go through when I pass through. They don’t do lessons, but the clerks there are friendly and open-minded, aren’t afraid to ask questions, and are more than happy to let you try any guitar in the store. If there’s anything one needed in musical gear, either they have it or they can order it in — and even have it shipped to your house if need be(this location is the nearest one to my hometown, a good hour away), which is a more than good thing. However, I’ve actually taken advantage of their website’s Ship To Store option when it came to getting the Ibanez 7-string, which gives me an excuse to drive up there(rather than come home to a post-it note from the UPS man) and gives me some peace of mind.
