Did 2 days here for ski weekend at Montage. Every other recognizable chain in the area is way overpriced for no reason. For the money this does the job just fine. Plus you get to deal with their hilarious owner. Didn’t try the nice Italian restaurant attached to the hotel, but there are 2 family restaurants and diners waking distance from it. 10 minutes to mountain. My only issue is that the beds are too hard but I got over it. Room was clean, water pressure and temperature were fine.

Okay, so its not the Marriott or the Hilton but it was all we needed to save a few bucks and for my wife and I to get a decent night’s rest. In fact our king-sized bed was very firm as requested, the pillows comfortable, and the flat panel television had decent enough reception for us to get acquainted with the area. Phillip Patel, the manager is a very kind-hearted and interesting man who heard my concerns and took them seriously to ensure that we had a clean room and a very comfortable firm bed as this was our primary concern. He and Roger, the General Manager took the time to explain how we could get the most from our visit to Scranton by visiting some of the local landmarks, particularly ‘Steamtown.” We were not at all disappointed. If we are ever again in the area we will definitely drop by again to visit with Phillip and Roger and get a good night’s rest and a cup of coffee in the morning on our way out!

At $ 45 a night I have low expectations and they have all been exceeded.(True, rooms are offered at $ 35 on the billboard by the highway but I do not begrudge a small business owner the 10 bucks.) My room is shabby but doesn’t smell bad and the bathroom, while small, is clean and the sheets are bright white and clean. For the money it is just fine. The AC works and so do the lights. Best of all, the front desk clerk called 10 minutes after I got to the room to make sure everything is okay.

Reserved a room after a last minute decision to stay overnight for a family wedding back in october 2013. Gross doesn’t even begin to describe this dump. Should have known better when we walked in to register, creepy, dirty, dingy smelly — that’s just the lobby. The rooms were dark and musty, mold on the walls. We actually decided not to stay, went back after the reception to change our clothes for the 1.5 hour ride home rather than stay. My son refused to touch anything, he’s 16 and said he’ll sleep in the car. Never again. It would take a total tear down to remodel this place. Just gross.

I would classify this as a motel. It’s relatively secure, 1 story, cinder block kinda place. I wasn’t even there for 12 hours, just a place to lay my head during a long road trip. They had wifi, and a lot of TV stations which made the stay more comfortable. Clean enough, but I’ve learned not to look too hard in places like this… I’ll always find something. I found these guys in a coupon book that they provide at rest stops and restaurants, but all the hotels collude and don’t really honor the book. They state that they have run out of the block of discount rooms, so get discounts other ways either via hotwire, or maybe AAA, but they may not honor that either.
