Don’t go here if you value your personal safety. When another fan threatened me and I complained I was told to enjoy the game, go stand somewhere else(sellout) or leave. When I refused to give up I was thrown out. While the bully stayed in his seat.

I’ve been to several games here over the last few years. Large stadium that doesn’t get enough business from the local community. Tickets aren’t too expensive and if you go on a Friday, you get to see complimentary fireworks. B/w innings, they involve the crowd with games, throwing t-shirts, etc. The stadium club is nice. Great place to overlook the field. Serves good food. Btw, it’s open year round.

What a nice little ballpark. The tix are cheap and the beers are reasonable. I’m a Red Sox fan and I still had a great time. We happened to buy tix for a game A-Rod came through on a rehab assignment, so it was packed. Parking was a little funky, but still way better than at any MLB game you’ll go to.

This place rocks! $ 14.00 for great seats along the first base line, $ 5.50 for a beer, friendly staff, free parking. It is quite large. Go, enjoy yourself! Great time here on Sunday!

PNC Field or as it used to be called Lackawanna County Stadium is the home field of the AAA affiliate of the New York Yankees. Prior to that it was the home of the Phillies, it was built to the exact specifications of the old Veterans Stadium in South Philly. I know they have replaced the terrible AstroTurf playing surface with grass but still much of the vet has worn off on this place. It feels very much like a bowl, albeit half a bowl but it’s still doesn’t have a personal touch like many ballparks these days do. The concessions are only so so at best, not real cheap and when I was there they were still serving steamed hot dogs, blah! The bun and the hot dog inside the wrapper become one, a mushy mess. Prices are a bit higher here then say Allentown or Reading, not sure if that’s a Yankee thing or whatever. But it’s still worth a trip out regardless, take in a game and maybe you’ll see a deer or two out beyond the outfield wall.

This is more of a review of the stadium \ facilities(which wasn’t listed on Unilocal) than it is of the team. We were on our way back from a day trip to BFE, PA. and thought we’d stop by to see a game of the AAA Yankee affiliates of the NY Yankees. The free parking is nice. This seems like a pretty big stadium for a minor league team. It is a two deck stadium that seats around 10k people. Can’t beat a field level seat for $ 12 ea. Until a couple of years ago, SWB was the AAA affiliate of the Phillies. They moved to a new stadium in Allentown and the Yankees moved their AAA affiliate from Columbus to here. It seems as if the Yankees have done very little to spruce up the stadium. Not that it’s in bad shape or anything but the orange and green seats in the stadium don’t exactly make you think Yankee Baseball. In any case, watching AAA baseball is just a notch below the major leagues and you’ll get to see plenty of names that you recognize from the parent team. Many of the stars gracing the field in the Bronx today came through SWB. As for the game, we hit a rain delay in the 6th and decided to call it a night. It had been a long day and everyone was worn out. It’s a good thing we did, after a 28 min. rain delay the game went 13 innings and didn’t end till nearly mid-night. I’d go back and check this out again if the opportunity presented itself.
