Sorry to say, but I do find their food almost tasteless :-(. The Aloo Paneer Bistro Bowl had no spinach flavor at all, the least tasty AP I’ve ever had. If your family or friends prefer bland food, this may be a good spot to try, but I’d have to say it was disappointing for this Indian food lover. Their other dishes may be better, but they were out of our first choices. Note that Naan does not come with the Bistro Bowl, as might be inferred from the online menu. On the + side they did give us a small sample of a tasty mango chutney with our take-out order. It would be nice to have a decent Indian choice in Moraga, perhaps with enough Unilocal encouragement management can prove us wrong?

Just tried New Delhi Bistro for the first time. The food tastes pretty good, but I’m about to go out and get a burger because the portion size on the bowl is a joke. I’m not a big eater, but it was like an appetizer. I guess, after going to so many other indian food restaurants, that the portions would be better sized. The second star is because I liked the flavor.

I was super hungry when walked in and it did not even seem like an authentic but ended up trying the rice with saag paneer and it definitely was very very average food. It did not seem authentic at all.

I have been here many times and it is good and easy. The samosa chat is great, very delicious and the best thing I’ve had here. My 8yo son loves the chicken tikka masala which means it’s not too spicy but the whole family can enjoy it. Their naan is made to order and very good. Other dishes I think are a bit boring but good for lunch or a week night take out.

Good restaurant. Easy to miss, though, unless you’re specifically looking for it. New Delhi Bistro is located in the main Moraga shopping complex, surrounded by other restaurants and stores. We had noticed New Delhi Bistro when we had been in the area in the past and had been meaning to try it. We finally had the opportunity a few months ago and we stopped by for lunch. New Delhi Bistro offers already prepared and made-to-order options. We ordered the following: chicken tikka wrap and a lentil bowl. We will definitely be by again if we’re ever in the area looking for a lunch option.

I wish this place had been around when I was a student as SMC! I really enjoyed my meal there today! Yum yum. Moraga was lacking in a good Indian food spot. Support local restaurants! First and foremost, don’t listen to other reviews about people being unfriendly. The people working today were beyond friendly. Sometimes you gotta get off your snooty high horse and realize you’re not all that. Maybe then you’ll see that people are much more kind than you perceive. Ok done with my rant about that! I order some samosas(they made them fresh!) they were yummy. Spicy but I love them spicy. I also got a chicken almond sandwich on fresh naan. I can’t even tell you guys! The bread was made on the spot. Chicken almond salad was perfect too. Just the right amount of mayo. Anyway all in all I will be back! I might even go back tomorrow.

The woman working at New Delhi Bistro works really hard at being as unfriendly as possible. I think if she would have greeted us, acted at all interested in what she was doing, or just stopped frowning, it would have made a world of difference. The food was alright, edible but not amazing. Reasons why I’m not going back: 1. She scratched her ear and then prepared the food without washing her hands. 2. Food was boring, even with possible ear wax floatie. 3. She was super unpleasant.

This place has good buffet options and the veg dishes taste okay. My friend ordered the prawns wrap and they left the tails on which was weird in a wrap. The girl behind the counter was not customer service oriented, everything I asked got a response of «no», and the overall vibe in there was just off.

Delicious and authentic food brought to you by a local family with ties to the community… what could be better?! I am a regular diner at NDB and enjoy the variety of authentic dishes. As I understand it, and the taste verifies, all recipes are made with freshly ground spices in traditional style. The freshly baked naan is a winner as well. I highly recommend.

I’ve been there 3 times now. I believe in second chances. First time was good. The bowl is rice filled with 5 pieces of chicken.

You know, I really miss this place since I haven’t stopped by in a while! The food here is really good! It is not your typical sit down restraunt, it is more like a lunch place that makes really good Indian cuisine! I highly suggest the garlic naan, lamb and chicken kormas, chicken tikka masala, and the samosa with their dipping sauce! It is all for a very good price! Plus, the people who own this place(who also own terzetto) are extremely friendly and they know how to run a good business! This place is never to packed, you never have to worry about a check, you just pay upfront, and you get your food right away! All at a good price! It is worth your money and your appetite!

Some food items were very tasty. Curry looks like 3 – 4 days old sitting over there. Papdi chat and tiki was best. I really enjoyed it. Customer service is very poor, front desk lady looks very sad She may be working too much. I enjoyed food but I feel like staff does not want to serve. Please show at least fake smile.

Owner served us, and explained the foods and menu, he was being very friendly, and price was fair the quantity of foods were decent, it’s more healthy that the taste was not too strong, sugary, nor salty; most importantly, place and foods were clean, it’s open kitchen. I would come again when I visit this town.

I came here on a Monday. Empty when I arrived. So I asked the guy behind the counter if the lamb and chicken were spicy. He said they were mild and would give me some spicy chutney to accompany my order. I got rice and a naan with my 2 meat dishes. Portions were small and tastes were fairly spiced. Meat was tender and the naan was freshly made. Prices are similar to a Indian buffet for much less food.

Now I’ve been there 5 times. Great for locals. We bring our own beer and wine and the owners graciously give us glasses. This place rocks!

Seriously people! Don’t give this amazing restaurant few stars because there was no toilet paper in the bathroom or because there were no toilet seat covers! I mean, they are in food business not toilet! I don’t know how and why people are giving their food low stars. I am from India and their food is the most authentic, made with fresh(and real ingredients!) with minimal oil. It seems to me that people who have rated this place low are so used to eating bad, filled-with-oil-kinda-floating food at rest of the indian restaurants that they can’t differentiate and are thinking something is wrong with this restaurant because it actually makes fresh home style Indian food with better ingredients than other Indian restaurants. I have been at indian restaurants all over San Francisco, North bay, East bay and Sacramento and haven’t found a single place where the food is made with fresh ingredients and most importantly, fresh oil. Most Indian restaurants are able to cut costs by providing mediocrity in ingredients ie., by reusing the oil they use for frying again and again no matter how old it is. This restaurants’ food is always made with fresh and good quality oil(smell the food and you will know!) and no I am not related in any way to the restaurants owner am just another customer who is from India and has had indian food all her life. Once I moved to Moraga a few months back from San Francisco I envied the local folks here who had access to such an authentic and wonderful indian restaurant whereas I have had to eat bad and unhealthily prepared indian food living in San Francisco for years! I seriously feel that people who have rated their food low have no idea about what good food should taste like. There was even a review that pointed out that there was no glass of milkshake on their menu, I mean, if you want milkshake then McDonald’s would be the best place to visit not a small boutique style Indian food place that prepares healthy meals. And talking about their paneer, that is what authentic home made freshly prepared paneer tastes like! Paneer churned by other Indian restaurants out there is pre bought from vendors who don’t prepare it the right way. The paneer is India is the way this restaurant makes it not the other way round. People complaining about their food being bland don’t actually know that they are only catering to the taste buds of the majority of local folks who are not used to spicy or over spiced food. The food has perfect amount of sodium and not over-sodiumised like other Indian restaurants do, so folks saying its bland are highly mistaken. If anything at all, it’s the most healthy! I love their food and want them to stay in business providing us with their wonderfully prepared home style indian food to us moraga folks for a long time and it seemed unreal to me to see such a wonderful Indian restaurant rated so low! This is the best Indian food I have ever had in entire Northern CA where the chef and owner actually care to prepare food with the freshest and most authentic ingredients. I would highly recommend this place!

The lunch menu is served deli style: wraps at one end and Indian favorites at the other end. I’ve often had Indian buffets at lunch, but I always end up eating more than I should. So, this setup worked fine for me. I had a two item rice plate with chicken tikka Marsala and chana dahl. If you like mild food this is the place for you. I prefer my food to have a bit more spice. I guess the pleasant fellow who served me must have seen me adding salt to the food; he brought me some chilies to add to each dish. I liked the food a lot more after he sprinkled it in the bowls The chicken wasn’t dry. The lentils in the chana dahl were on bit hard. The naan that was brought from the kitchen was warm and fresh; it’s included with rice plates. The restaurant has a lot of windows and the interior is bright and open. The person who served me was pleasant. I was impressed with the service.

I went here last Sunday with my two brothers. We were originally aiming to try Little Hearty Noodle(Vietnamese), but we didn’t realize that they were closed on Sundays. They hadn’t had Thai in a while so I suggested Royal Siam next, but whaddya know… also closed on Sundays. At that point, we were all getting a little hangry and while my youngest brother wanted to go with Mountain Mike’s, the older one was with me in wanting to try New Delhi Bistro. I’ve driven through this area on a number of occasions to get things from CVS, drop things off at the Post Office, and wander through Marshalls, and each time the enticing smell of Indian spices comes wafting through my car windows, but I’ve always been too pressed for time to stop in. But not this time. The restaurant was about half full when we got there at around noon(good sign!), and a family that was just leaving kept giving thanking the woman at the front for the food(an even better sign!). They have a fairly extensive menu so it took a while for me to figure out what I wanted, but after some deliberation I settled on the samosa chaat. One of my brothers got the chicken boti wrap with naan, and the other one ordered the chicken tikka boti. My order came out first, and while I really liked the presentation, all of the sauce quickly turned the normally crispy exterior of my samosa into mush. The chutney provided quite the kick, doesn’t it always?, but I think mine had just a tad to much. While I would definitely order this again, I would absolutely ask for the chutney and chana masala to go on the side to avoid sogginess and sourness. The chicken boti wrap came out next. I remember looking at it for a minute, then at my brother, and then at the menu. You see, my brother is really active. He plays football, is on the track team, works out with weights, etc. I just thought that that wrap would be more suited to someone with a much, much smaller appetite. But after he finished it he looked at me and said, «You know, at first I didn’t think that the wrap was going to be very filling, but after finishing it, I’m actually really full.» So there you go. What a relief! The last thing to appear was the chicken tikka boti. I didn’t mind the wait because it meant that they prepared it right on the spot. I had to do the same thing with this dish: look at it, look at my other brother, and then at the menu because I counted 10 chunks of chicken on that plate. While that might have been more than enough for me, this brother is very active(was on the wrestling team and also works out with weights). After he finished, he said, «It’s really good, but I wish there was more of it.» Hm, if you have a healthier appetite, I’d recommend ordering this along with naan or rice to make it a more filling meal. Last but not least… the mango lassis. We’re a bit split on this. We all agree that they were good, but my youngest brother wasn’t a fan of the consistency. He wanted it to be like an In-N-Out milkshake(i.e. ridiculously difficult, even impossible and infuriating, to sip through a straw). My other brother and I, however, thought that it was just right(not too thick, but not watery, either). We weren’t able to come here with my mom who also loves Indian food, so I hope to try this place again with her, too.

This review is my written standing ovation. I was so impressed with this place I had to drop everything when I got home and run to my laptop immediately to spread the word. No longer do we have to travel to Bizerkeley or the City for fantastic, reasonably priced Indian cuisine(yes, Naan ‘n Curry… I know you have a location in Todos Santos Plaza… but I’m trying to create an effect here…). Now we have a great place right here in Lamorinda. This place is run by the same owners as Terzetto’s in Moraga(Hi Roos!), and I have to say, she and her husband did a phenomenal job with this new spot. The atmosphere is casual; no need to dress up here. The place is deli-style, so it’s a great place for a quick bite to eat or a «grab and go» lunch. The menu items consist of the popular Indian fare we all enjoy, i.e. Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic and plain naan, Chicken Korma, Samosas, etc. Oh, and their Mango Lassi is SUPERB. This place is just what Rheem needed — a breath of fresh(Indian?) air. Keep up the great work, New Delhi Bistro. I’ll be seeing you soon!
