Great little knick knacks, but very rude employees if you don’t dress like them. Snobs. Here let me updated my review for Jane. I’ve been coming to Dee Gee’s ever since I can remember. Living in Morehead City my entire life I would like to make this clear. I love Dee Gee’s for their books and toy collection. Also the lovely home décor they carry. As you can see I am tattooed and I don’t wear the normal boutique dresses or anything«preppy» as they say. I do however wear appropriate attire and what I’m trying to say Jane is that if you look different or if you’re not wearing Simply Southern or Michael Kors you will be treated differently. I am never rude by any means when going out in public and shopping but when I am looked at and treated as if I’m a burden by asking a simple question and just because I’m wearing a plain t shirt and jeans that’s when I can say I am rude. I don’t care what Miss Jane has to say about my review. The last time I checked Unilocal was an app that encouraged negative or positive reviews of businesses. If you don’t like my experience or my review. How about making a nice review of the place and instead of assuming things like an ignorant person and bringing my experience into your review you look like a donkeys rear end. You even made a Unilocal account just to do so. Thanks for your lovely review Jane.

Dee Gee’s Bookstore is currently the oldest independent bookstore in the entire State of North Carolina located on the waterfront in downtown Morehead City, NC and I have been a patron of Dee Gee’s since my age was in the single digits. What they have here are books for the young and the young at heart as well as unique gifts for the kitchen or living room. They even have printed material signed by the authors. As long as Dee Gee’s is open I will be a patron.

If you’re in Morehead City or Beaufort and are looking for something good to read while on the beach, Dee Gee’s has what you need. It’s an adorable shop, with local and popular books, wonderful home and kitchen décor items and a great kids section upstairs. You can have dinner at the Sanitary, then do a little shopping at Dee Gee’s, then drop by the ice cream place down the street and you’ve got a fun night at the beach! In addition to books, they’ve got great items for house-warming gifts, baby shower items and lots of great kids items and books that will keep your children busy while you shop! Most of the items are beachy or island-related, but classy looking and fun. They also have some great jewelry and original items specific to the area!
