What a great find! I discovered this little cool market when i was looking for Flat noodles, but i wasnt sure if they do have it so i called up and a lady answered, she sounded very nice. so when my mom and i came to the store! this place is a lot better than the market right next to Papaya restaurant. I was surprised that they have thai tea ice cream that Magnolia has(a filipino brand ice cream) and i been waiting for Phil-Am Ent. to have it but here it is! i found it here! then when we finally rung up all our stuff, unfortunately the lady says their debit/credit card system is down so we had to rush to the bank and withdraw, but she says it only happened later in that afternoon, and everything was fine until today. guess it was our bad luck, but it was 30 min. before closing, she says she’ll wait until we return, so it’s all good! but overall, they have friendly staff, i keep asking questions to the lady, and she doesnt seem to mind while she’s talking on the phone. will come back here again!

Nice little thai-laos grocery store. The groceries are a bit on the pricey side, but I consider it paying for the convenience of not having to drive clear put to Los Angeles. Otherwise, there are a few small stores in San Bernardino or I would have to settle for Vietnamese stores, which is not that bad either. There are no meats, just the typical ingredients to make the popular noodle and curry dishes. I went on a Sunday and was able to get Kapi curry paste and Isarn sausages delivered fresh from a thai restaurant in LA. When I looked up the restaurant on Unilocal,I was surprised to see that they mostly served Americanized Chinese food for the most part, which was disappointing since they make very good traditional thai food items. I understand that businesses have to cater to demand though. They also carried some thai desserts. Service is friendly compared to the average Asian market. Not bad!

Found this little Thai market over the weekend. My husband and I are big fans of Thai food… so I knew I would be hooked. They have some specialty Thai products as well as general Asian items that are difficult to find anywhere else. I like their crunchy fried garlic. it will be used primarily as a topping for my Filipino arroz caldo(chicken rice porridge soup w/ginger). I also purchased coconut milk, a yellow curry paste to make my own coconut yellow curry w/chicken. They also have the VinaCafe — 3 in 1 Instant Vietnamese Coffee Mix that I was only able to find on Amazon… Glad they have it here. This store is more organized than Fil-Am on Heacock. The only reason I’m not giving them a higher rating is because we expected to find a wider variety of freshly prepared foods and snacks.

I’ve now been to Asian Imports twice, and both times was horrified with the quality of the produce. Spread throughout four refrigerators were unlabeled plastic bags full of brown, slimy green vegetables WAY past their prime. No kaffir lime leaf, no coriander root(or even cilantro!), galanger was dried out little hunks, and no basil. To be fair, the shallots and garlic looked fine, and the bird’s eye chilies looked ok. In the canned/packaged section they had most of what I was looking for, but no canned coconut cream(just coconut milk and powdered cream). I can’t help but like the Thai family who run the place, but this place doesn’t meet minimum standards for a grocery. It’s worth going if you just need a quick shelf-stable item or two, but you’re not going to be able to make fresh curry paste from here.

Small market that carries mainly southeastern Asian dried goods, sauces, vegetables and snacks. I was happy because they carry sour green mango, assorted mint leaves, greens(i.e asian bok choy, mustard greens, ong choy), fish sauce, spices, canned goods(coconut milk, lychees, quail eggs to name a few) and chinese sausage. You can’t find those items at your local Stater Bros. I initially came in search of Vietnamese Thanh Son Tofu but alas, they don’t carry it. Settled for a firm tofu that wasn’t as good as the brand but it sufficed for my vegetarian fried tofu dinner. Market doesn’t have a meat counter but there were frozen sealed meat items. The owners are Cambodian and very nice. They take cash/credit card, $ 5 limit. They were playing Khmer Karaōke DVDs on the TV. Ahhh. makes me feel like I’m at home with my Ma.

Being from the Bay Area where there is hella Asian Market, not to mention Lao, Thai and Cambodian market and moving into a small town where the poplulation of Asian is rare is pretty hard. Up until I discover this little Thai, Lao Markets where there is absoulety everything I needed. They have this Thai Raw Sausage that I absoulety adored and a mixed variety of vegetables ranging from fresh mints, long green beans and green papaya. This market is small but they got all your SouthEast Asian spices that you need.

Moreno Valley doesn’t have too many oriental stores so this litte place wedge between a furniture store and restaurant is a great place to pick up rare ingredients from the far east.(particularly the southeast asian ingredients.) There are fresh vegetables from cherry tomatoes to mustard greens, and canned goods, and dried goods as well as oriental soaps, ointments and medicine. It’s not a big place, but it comes with good variety.
