Went here last night with a co– worker because we were out that way buying something and I told her about how good this place was(used to be). They sit us down and they brought chips and salsa and our drinks, and everything is going okay, he comes and he takes our order brings our food out. Waiter checked on us once to bring us a refill on our waters and I didn’t see him the rest of the time we were there. He took so long I had to walk to the front of the restaurant and ask the person at the register if we could have our check because it had been over 30 minutes since we seen our waiter and he goes«okay, no problem, I’ll go get it for you.» He brings it back and has a lame-ass excuse that I’m sorry the kitchen is busy… That’s not an excuse for my waiter to at least pass us(or a manager) to check and see if everything was going ok or if I needed anything. The ONLY thing that was good was my tortilla soup… This place has sadly gone down hill…

I just downloaded and made a Unilocal account just to let you know how shitty this place is. I’ve never had such bad customer service, first we weren’t given much attention from our waiter and we had to flag her down just to refill a glass of water after 20 minutes. After a long wait we finally received our food and it sucked, just not what we expected. It was a carnitas plate, but it was just unseasoned pulled pork and not fried and fatty as you would expect. After asking they said they would bring us out another plate but fried. When she returned it was clear that they dumped what was on our plate into the deep fryer almost to a burnt crisp. It tasted like rubber… We had barely even touched our plate and our waiter seemed to not even care. Being frustrated we just paid the bill and left. Proceed with caution. I will NEVER return to this place.

The only reason I’m come to green onion is because of tony the bartender he’s amazing his drinks are the bomb and he is super chill! If there is an issue with your drink he has no problem changing it for u or remaking it! The food is so so here sometimes but tony makes up for it his Cadillac margaritas are A1!

This place was recommended by friends, who swore it was excellent food and not to expensive. We decided to give it a try, we were not disappointed. Having small children, we can be limited where we eat by what the kids will eat. Green Onion offers kid friendly items such as Chicken nuggets and Cheeseburger with fries, Perfect! Kids can eat what they want, and mom and dad can have«adult» food. Portions are large enough to share and, the prices are not bad. The food is great, we have been there twice and both times, the food was yummy. Service the first time was slow, like our server was distracted but the 2nd time, service was spot on. We were in and out in under an hour, with little kids that is just what we needed, quick service, before melts downs ensued. We would recommend Green Onion and this will be a regular spot for us.

I came here for the first time on Cinco de Mayo with my family while I was in town visiting. The food was good, authentic and the prices are great but the staff wasn’t that friendly and especially our waitress. She was very fake and not that talkative or happy. If I ever wanted to eat there again, I’d definitely get it to go.

The three stars is for their great shredded beef taco and service. You can usually figure out how good the food will be if the salsa is good. Their salsa is awful… tomato and chunks of onion. thats it… they have reasonable prices but their food is mediocre at best… if u have to go there. get the taco…

Love this place! I’ve come here for drinks only, weekday work lunch, and now a nice family dinner. Their lunch specials are great and I’ve tried a handful of items on the menu and not had a bad experience. On this more recent visit we came as a family on a weeknight for dinner and had great service and food. I ordered the Flautas(shredded beef), husband got the Bean & Cheese Burrito Sonora Style(red sauce), and the toddler got the kids quesadilla(legit portion size). All three were awesome! The only issue I had was that by the time I finished my first flauta the second one was already soggy. But seriously, delicious food. AND do not forget their drinks. Double margarita on the rocks, so so good! Definitely can’t wait to go back and try something new.

We had no silverware we asked the server n she said oh yeah huh ! But didn’t bother getting us some our waiter was nice but not that attentive he also forgot my silverware till I said the hell with it and got up and got my own ! He notice and said ohh I’m sorry I forgot ! I mean all I ask for is good service you guys have am excellent chef and great food but customer service very poor ! Hope this improves

The service is okay although it was empty I’ve gone before(two years ago) and the service was so bad I left my table! Today I ordered the number 10 combo chili rellano, beef enchilada and beans with rice. You get a big portion it was tasty but the rice and beans were al dente: «al dente /ældnte/(Italian pronunciation: [al dnte]) describes pasta and vegetables, rice or beans that are cooked to be firm to the bite.[1][2][3] The etymology is Italian«to the tooth.» It was hard, the rice chewy and beans not completely re fried/mashed? The beans were good but not properly prepared? The salsa and chips are very tasty!

I’m giving this place two starts just because of the food and drinks. Food is delicious, chips and salas always fresh and great. Drinks strong and sooooo good. Their service is terrible each time. We went in tonight, waiting 10 minutes before our server came to get our drink order. Then another 25 minutes to get our food order. And that’s only because I said something to a hostess. Our server stopped by to say«I’m going home, so and so will be back to take your order… «obviously she didn’t get the memo. Service is what can make and break a business. The service here is not good at all. Everyone looks miserable and pissed to even have to be at work and deal with customers. Retraining is obviously a must. Kudos to the kitchen. That’s the only good thing you guys have going for you.

My family has been coming here for decades. I haven’t been in a few years. I have to say it’s still really good. The help is always nice and helpful. The food come out fast. The taste is authentic and the portions are real. The dining room is getting a little worn, but the atmosphere is quiet and comfortable. Great place for a date, or for the family. They have a large bar area also.

You like to eat? Then, The Green Onion is perfect. Just look at their menu. You want to take a step back and jump right in. The pool is deep, so please your senses. Nachos, fajitas, chimichangas, enchiladas, carne or pollo, black beans or re-fried, you name it. It’s readying.

WOW ! I told my boyfriend before we walked in there were no Mexican people walking in or out of this place, which means that’s a bad sign lol not authentic at all. Boy was I right the food sucked! Nothing was authentic at all, the meat was DRY a very bad taste, yuck. I would not be back nor recommend this place to anybody. If you want great authentic Mexican food then find you a hole in the wall place, with Mexican people eating at the restaurant lol. No but really it’s true.

This has become my favorite Mexican restaurant. I used to love Las Casuelas Terraza in Palm Springs but now prefer Green Onion. My husband had the tamales especial dinner and I had the chile verde chimi Sonora style the other day. YUM! The restaurant is older with nice décor and a nice bar. It’s in a small, old strip mall and can be hard to find, but definitely worth looking for. It is the only restaurant that we go to when we want Mexican food. Very reasonable prices for the quantity and quality.

Where do I begin without sounding like an overrated food critic… The waitress was nice and attentive. The restaurant has a weird smell when you walk in, like soggy towels and bleach. I should have known and trusted my gut… The salsa looks and tastes like its made from canned tomato sauce. Ordered the two taco combo, one beef one chicken. The beef was ok. The chicken taco, took about 3 bites and couldn’t finish it. The chicken was a little mushy and I told myself just leave it. A few hours later at home… Let’s just say I won’t go into details to spare you your stomachs! Not sure how people can like this place. Maybe an authentic Mexican restaurant should be in your near future instead of this establishment. Enjoy your chicken taco… If you dare.

The BEST margaritas EVER!!! They do not taste like the typical el torrito or Acapulco or Chevy margaritas! These are quality margaritas and you definitely can taste it! They are STRONG too! They come in two sizes. All of the bartenders, waitresses and chip/salsa guys are great. They could use an update on the décor, but overall this place is an A+!

Okay, so it dropped a star because of service. Customer service is very important to me because it plays a factor in if I ever want to come back to a place. My co-workers and I came in again today because our first experience together at Green Onion a week ago was fantastic. We saw the same waitress we had last time, who was chewing gum again! Green Onion isn’t a fancy restaurant, but it’s also not the type of place where your server should be chewing gum. It’s just unprofessional having your waitress chew her gum while she takes your order and serves your food. She’s very friendly, but the gum chewing is a turn off. I understand it was busy today with going to a Mexican restaurant on Cinco de Mayo during peak lunch hours, but it’s nice to have a server not be in such a hissy fit. When we asked him to split our bill(there was 3 of us), he got so frustrated and complained. He was nice, but you could tell he had no more patience and was in a bad mood because the restaurant was busy and he had to walk around a lot. We waited a long time for him to take our order, it took a while to get our check, and for him to split it. It’s like we were always trying to find him whenever we needed him. And he didn’t check up on us once when we received our food. Other than the still mediocre service, the food remains excellent. I love their shredded chicken so much. It goes well with everything. The restaurant looks so run down from the outside, but don’t let that fool you. The inside has really old school décor. For what you get during their lunch specials, MAYBE bad customer service can be overlooked… MAYBE.
