Don Nguyen, DDS Jon Hatakeyama, DDS

I am so grateful for a dentist I can trust! I recently moved 2 hours away and tried 3 other dentists and they just don’t compare. I always appreciated Dr. Nguyen when I lived in Morgan hill. He is very kind and goes above and beyond for his patients. he even called me on the weekend to check on me after I had some work done and gave me his number in case things weren’t ok. I luckily was doing great and didnt need to use his number. I have never known any doctor to do that! As I said I tried 3 other dentists where I live now and all three tried to get me to do work I didn’t need done, buy some sort of new and improved mouth guard (each time I went in) and were very rough. Finally after my third failure I called and spoke to Dawn and asked if I could send in the treatment plan I got from the third dentist and if Dr. Nguyen wouldn’t mind looking at it. Sure enough he did and was very professional about it too. He didn’t discount the other dentist at all either. So i made the trip down to get the one filling fixed (that one the dentist filled 3 times and kept falling out) and a teeth cleaning. Dr. Nguyen actually did my teeth cleaning that day! I thought that was awesome that he would take time to clean my teeth when the hygienist has always done it. When he went to give me a shot before he worked on my filling I was shocked that I didn’t feel the shot at all. He was giving me that shot for a minute too. I have never not felt a shot in my mouth, they are the worst! I felt very at ease and for once didn’t have anxiety in the chair. I am grateful to say the filling has not fallen out! His staff is very friendly! I absolutely love Dawn! She is very positive and upbeat. You can’t help but leave with a smile after talking with her. I really appreciate the fact that I have a dentist I can trust. I was very distrusting of the other dentists I saw even another one in Morgan hill. It really says something that Dr. Nguyen popped in my mind immediatly and I thought… you know. I would never have these issues with him. I will be making the 2 hour drive down for my care. Its more than worth it!

I have had the good fortune to go through life without the need for much work on my teeth. Sadly, most of the time when I have needed dental intervention, its been the result of one pesky tooth on the right upper back.
The day finally came when the pain it caused (OMG – ten on a scale of ten) exceeded its usefulness. I had to see Dr. Nguyen on a Friday at four. My regular dentist was closed and I couldn’t manage one more second with what I thought was probably an abscessed root canal.
Dr. Nguyen fit me into his packed schedule on ten minutes’ notice. He examined my tooth, confirmed my suspicions, and sent me home with antibiotics and pain meds with instructions to see an endodontist Monday.
I decided not to do that after considering the fact that this same tooth had been the cause of so many problems. Dr. Nguyen fit me in the same day for an extraction, counseled me about my options, and helped me to make the decision that made the most sense. He was very gentle, very calm and got the tooth out with no drama. I experienced zero pain. Once out, he told me that another root canal on the tooth would not have been possible because of its condition, affirming my choice to have it removed.
Dr. Nguyen is a young man, but wise beyond his years. He is funny, relaxed, and loves what he does. The staff who support him are wonderful… beyond kind and concerned. I switched my whole family to the practice as a result of this experience, and would highly recommend it to anyone.
