Oak Dell RV Park

I spent a week there and wasn’t very pleased with the staff. The site is «OK» but not worth dealing with the mentality of the staff there. Try another place to camp or extended stay.

I am a recent full timer and moved into Oak Dell in July 2014 and this place is great! I looked at RV parks in San Jose, Hayward, Fremont, Mountain View and Morgan Hill. This is by far the most friendly and professional park I encountered. Janet was very helpful and answered all my newbie questions. Rules are very straight forward and all the residents are very friendly (if it’s busy outside get ready to wave and talk to everyone you run into!). There is a laundry room conveniently located in the middle of the park, the pricing is very reasonable and the machines work well. There is also a bathroom/​shower room which is accessible to all residents and is cleaned daily. They also fill your propane on site which is a great convenience as it can be filled by the next day and they keep pricing the same as anywhere else you would go to get filled up. The grounds are constantly maintained which adds to great views when go walk around. There is virtually no noise once the sun goes down! I always feel like ninjas live next me and because the heart of the park is tucked about ¼ mile away from the road you only hear the wildlife. Cell phone and wifi is not very good but I just walk down near the road if I really need to send a text message. You have the option to get a land line and they provide free cable (12 channels I think) which is nice if you do not have satellite. The picture quality is not HD but it’s free and you get local news and HBO! If you are looking to be a full timer or want to plan a short stay make sure Oak Dell is on top of your list! Oh and before I forget there are about 7 wineries within 3 mile of this place!

I do like this park, and have stayed here many times (1 week at a time). Janet is truly awesome! The staff is usually very courteous, and attentive, and the place is very quiet — maybe the quietest park I’ve ever stayed in? Mostly FTers, and friendly ones. The only thing keeping it from being five stars (for me) is the lack of cell & internet reception based on it being tucked into the mountains. Not something they can really affect, but it is a real issue for FTers who work from their motorhome. They do offer free wifi, but that can’t fix cell reception. Great park if internet/​cell is not a main priority.

My husband and I have been staying here for 3 months and love it! It’s so quiet and we feel like we are way up in the mountains! We have nothing but good to say about the management! They keep this place safe! So if you are just dropping by and your not a resident you can expect one of the managers to stop you and ask you what you are doing or if they can help you! This is what I like the most, security:)
