Zeko’s Village

This is one of the best Italian places I’ve been too. The atmosphere is great the service is good and the food is even better. I really suggest it

I think they are trying to be like a trattoria in Italy — they leave you alone while you are here. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t fantastic– it matched the prices. The family atmosphere was questionable — the movie on TV showed water torture and dead bodies and the overhead music would prob appeal to a different crowd.

Entertaining in a «they are doing a terrible job pretending to be an Italian/​Greek/​generic European restaurant» way. There are countless places like this in North Carolina. It’s fun… Don’t eat the food, though. The teenaged waitstaff is charming.

Terrible food, terrible service. Don’t even think of eating here. Two of my friends and I ate here for lunch and our food was not appetizing. My veggies were cold and you could tell they were frozen veggies. The waitress was rude and not even knowledgeable of the food they served. She left work in the middle of our meal. We were confused. Never coming here again.

Meals are really good. Mediterranean food. Service variable from great to adequate.
Exterior tired. Interior dark. Lighting in booths will have reaching for a flashlight to read the menu — but if you are on a reclusive date or a ‘good fella’ you will like the interior.
The food makes up for any décor issues. At times they have muzak overhead and the TV on at the same time so the clashing audios ruin the ambiance. Still, the food makes up for the negatives. I really like the food.

Having recently moved to Morganton we look for family oriented casual dining experiences that won’t break the bank.
The good — We’ve now been to Zeko’s 4 times in the past 6 months and find that they have tasty food at an affordable price. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. The sauces Zeko’s have are better than another Italian place in the downtown area with each dish being more affordable. The dishes have all featured fresh ingredients.
The other — They do not serve alcohol. They do have a TV going most of the time and for some reason also have music playing over their sound system. The servers are not in a hurry and your greeting may seem luke-​warm. The servers are local kids going to school — no professionals here. Be sure they got your order right — ask them to read it back to you before they leave the table (like most small restaurants).
Summary — Affordable, fresh, warm atmosphere, tasty food, no wine with your meal…
I didn’t ask if they allowed folks to bring their own wine.

Zeko’s is a very casual Italian spot. I have always had take out and been satisfied. Calzone is fantastic. Other dishes average. It is an affordable place for families and high school dates. I order often when I work in Morganton. If you want fine dining keep looking.

Don’t bother! The restaurant is tired, long in the tooth and appeared to be dirty. The food is memorably bad. I won’t be returning, soon or ever.
