Antiques and Old Books is a bit of a twist off of I-68, but it’s definitely worth a stop if you’re into antique and used books. The walls and bookshelves are covered with 19th and 20th century publications, from literature and fiction to gardening and cooking. There is a whole section focusing on West Virginian authors and history, and I found a couple of great first editions for my own collection. Jo Ann Nicholson, the proprietor of the store, is a bright, wonderful woman who clearly knows her collection. She says she tends to go to a lot of antique shows during the early part of the week, although you can catch he if you’re lucky. Otherwise, you’ll need to get your book and antique fix Thursday, Friday, and Saturday between 11 and 5.
