Best Western Mountaineer Inn

I do not normally give 5*, but, considering the price, location and WONDERFUL staff, and 24– hour indoor pool. .. these guys get it. Also, they honor (unlike Hampton Inn) their Travel Coupons in those books you find at welcome centers and big gas stations. The room was normally $ 119 and I got it for $ 84. Furthermore, (see other Unilocal post listed here) who wouldn’t take Hampton Inn over B.W. They are not on the same level, and therefore you should disregard the poor rating. Also, I think the hotel as been renovated since the first poster’s review.
As my readers know, I am well traveled, can afford better but like to save my bucks for booze and fun stuff.
It is centrally located off of Interstate 68 and 79. It’s a college town, so they have ALL the local chains… Within walking distance is Logan’s Roadhouse, their staff was great too! They with in a half mile is Chili’s, Olive Garden, Red Lobster etc… and a Mall, Target/​Dollar Tree etc.
I called 3 times and spoke to 3 different people, Both females and the Male were extremely friendly and informative. Driving up, I kinda wondered about my choice, perusing the parking lot, all the car were dent-​free and mostly new (ish).
It is doubtful we’ll ever be in the area again, but if we are,
this is where we’ll stay, without hesitation!

I hate to review this place so low as for the last few years it has been our choice hotel for trips to Morgantown, but my experience last weekend calls for this rating. I want to start off by saying the front desk staff were great (I dealt with Adbigail and Josh the most). The manager on duty however was awful, Megan Zebley was so rude and uncaring about the fact that my husband and I have spent thousands here over the years. The bathrooms have needed updating for quite a while, but we will normally overlook that since the beds are somewhat comfortable. Not this time, both beds were hard and extremly uncomfortable. My husband and I both has back pain from the one night. I asked early Saturday afternoon if we could cancel that night or at least get a partial refund as we were not going to be staying again that night. Megan would do nothing for us and will likely be the reason we will not be back!

At this price, there is no better place to stay. $ 90 for a clean room, good Internet, decent breakfast and friendly service. I travel for work and I stay in a different hotel, in a different city 4 nights a week. This is by far the best with this kind of budget. If your looking for more, spend more money otherwise this is definitely the place to stay.

I’ll start off saying that its not the worst but far from the best. My room was pretty nice for being alright I guess. I much rather stay in a Hampton inn any day.

Wellll. It’ll do in a pinch. Not the worst. Not the best. Front reception is beautiful. Room were in (118) isn’t the best. Shower backs up pretty quick. Mold in bathroom. Flaking paint. Pool was dirty. Employees are nice and welcoming tho. Have t ate breakfast yet. Think it ran us about $ 80. I was in a Best Western on the east coast yesterday with much better quality. The sheets are clean. Room doesnt smell. Heater works good. Bed is ok. Pillows are fluffy. The basics are here but some fresh pain an drano is needes pretty bad
